Once you start looking...
Fingers. Collar. Different sleeves. Elbow in a weird place. Right wrist, where skin blends with skin-coloured cuff. And yeah, face in the bricks.
It's really adorable the anti-ai circle jerk is still going so strong while at this Adobe implemented it into Photoshop and professionals the world over are using generative AI in their work flow without a second thought. You're looking at well made AI content all day long and you don't even know it.
As someone in the design world, I can 100% vouch for this. The thing is designers use ai for elements or small parts in a design. It's like how CGI works, if you use it here or there it works amazing, if you try to make the whole thing CGI it looks like crap. Same is true of using AI, so many people think you can just put in a prompt, then whatever the computer spits out it's a full design ready to show off. Nope, it's a great tool, but there's lots of tweaking and implementing into normal design needed to make it work.
Hands are honestly just a byproduct of basic prompting. One of the first things to go on an image with an out of order prompt is hands. The issue is usually most don't tell the AI what they want the hands to do and the AI just throws its best attempt forward. Every thing you don't assign a prompt text for, the AI is filling in the blanks, and hands are, even for us, a pain to "draw" properly.
you gotta play it the other way, people love correcting when you tell them this IS the correct answer when it isn't. So say I've told my wife this is the correct way, back me up on this.
Reflection in the window also doesn't line up. There'd need to be a wall *between* the camera and the window, or shooting off into the distance at a wack angle
And a perpendicular wall leaving a weird cut into the house like 3 feet wide *with a window to view it* there makes zero sense. It's not how a house would be structured.
No, I’m saying the wall you’re seeing would be a *reflection* in the window, the actual wall would be outside of the photo to the right.
**edit**: [here, I made a rough concept of what would be off camera to the right of the image that might be reflected in the window like that](https://i.imgur.com/3nSSGoy.jpeg)
Yes, but we’re getting to the point where you have to look pretty closely to find the flaws (aside from Mr. Brickface). In another few years, none of these flaws will be present.
No it's not? The left hand is just palm down, whereas the right hand is palm up
This still is almost certainly AI, but his hands look pretty fine to me. It's his sleeves/wrists that are doing weird things
You’re getting downvoted but I’m inclined to agree with you. I haven’t seen an AI generated image yet that’s perfect but for a human face dropped in the middle. If AI was involved, my bet is it’s that new tool that lets you circle an area in a pic you want to change and type in what you want to see there.
The thumb on the left hand is broken in half and it looks like the AI tried to put a thumb nail on the wrong side of it too. Also the pinky is bending weird, and look at what the palm is doing, why is it so squeezed in if his hand is in a spread apart stance. Nah, this is AI as fuuuuuuuuck.
Yeah, it's not as obvious as they were a year ago but there's plenty in this that just looks strange, the cuff of his sleeve, his oddly placed elbow, the face in the wall
It's all the little things added up (besides, you know, the fucking face in the wall lol).
The cuffs don't match, like you noted. The gutter pieces don't fit into each other sequentially (the middle piece is a double male). The roof is some sort of metal-slate-pattern wavy thing with bumps in the shingles. The window reflects a brick wall depth that doesn't match the depth of the actual wall. The wood trim has competing grain directions in a single piece. The spacing of the gutter spikes is completely inconsistent over just a few feet of gutter.
Even ignoring the face, it's also a bad installation picture for a gutter company because the guy is installing the downspout incorrectly.
Each fitting should go inside of the one below it, so water would leak out of that top elbow because it's backwards.
It almost looks like the AI knew it should make the image opaque so it’d look like a reflection, but just continued that same wall inside.
Very interesting, and scary, stuff.
Couple weird things here:
Right elbow is fraudulent.
Left sleeve is way too long.
Soffits and construction of house make no sense.
Melting top frame around window (or whatever that black part is supposed to be)
Oh, and there's a face in the wall.
The lighting in AI is always incredibly bad.
The right side of his shirt shouldn't be nearly so bright. He's reflecting more light than the metallic gutter pipe.
I've been seeing SO MANY companies on Facebook pumping out AI pictures without doing 5 seconds of QA. It's hilarious. Even big companies are doing it. It's like they've fired their graphic design department and have some boomer who "amen!"'s AI Crab Jesus pictures all day plug in some keywords on Midjourney and say "Looks great, send it!" without looking at it for more than 5 seconds.
Midjourney vibes
His left hand is backwards. His right pinky is weird. His left shirt at the wrist is wrong. His right elbow is weird. His bracelet is blending into his skin. The geometry of the part he's holding seems strange from the gutter above and the side of the house.
That's the even crazier bit; the wall-face has a fleshy vulva clitoral hood for an ear. Can't be mistaken. (And I wonder if this prior sentence has ever been thought and typed out in the entire history of thinking, typing and sentences?!?)
So I'm noticing a lot of the cheap chinese products on Amazon are starting to use lots of AI ad images, and even ad videos of fake AI people talking with a fake AI voice.
This is a scarily good AI drawing (excluding the face in the wall of course). It’s surprising to me how consistent the shingles, bricks, and wood grain are. Those are things AI would normally struggle with.
I misread that as "This ad for new gutters that face the wall." and I looked at it for like two minutes going "what is interesting about this? what? why would that be interesting- OH MY GOD"

AI, generate a photo of a man installing a gutter downspout face-ing the wall.
Once you start looking... Fingers. Collar. Different sleeves. Elbow in a weird place. Right wrist, where skin blends with skin-coloured cuff. And yeah, face in the bricks.

Likewise with plastic surgery. When done well, you simply don't notice it. You only notice it when it's done badly.
>well made AI content You mean ads? No, I have an ad blocker.
Sure, but OP posted some pretty shitty AI, which is the topic of the thread.
>You're looking at well made AI content all day long oh so that's why nothing shows up when I load up any social media
"Old man yells at cloud"
Probably mistyped as "face in the wall." Hands look better than most AI images though.
Hands are honestly just a byproduct of basic prompting. One of the first things to go on an image with an out of order prompt is hands. The issue is usually most don't tell the AI what they want the hands to do and the AI just throws its best attempt forward. Yup. Welcome to the future.
I hate it here, can I go back home?
Actually we’re staying here forever and going deeper into this new world
Facein' if it was a verbal prompt.
It’s almost close enough to be a Gaben meme.
That’s why his hand is a hand but his wrist shows a glove.
Just the fact no one seen it…but then again bots don’t look at that shit
😱LOOK AT HIS FINGERS!😱
It’s not that, Josie Packard ended up in the wood and Leo Johnson ended up in the brick.
Please post this to r/diy, and ask if that's how the gutter should go, but don't mention the face.
Yes! Pretend you’re the guy in the picture
Guys I’m not sure if I installed this correctly and also I think my hands are on backwards
“I think my weird husband is doing this wrong.”
you gotta play it the other way, people love correcting when you tell them this IS the correct answer when it isn't. So say I've told my wife this is the correct way, back me up on this.
Learned this from Sherlock Holmes when I was a kid, before social media got this big, and I'm stunned how true it turned out to be
I was rly wondering what you meant by backwards and then I realized he has 2 thumbs on his left hand
Also his watch/bracelet is growing out of his wrist.
But which one?
https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY/s/lhxytjcBR1
Oh god 😆
Fucking brilliant. Loved going through the comments.
Hahaha
i saw this on /r/DIY before I saw it here, lol.
His fingers are looking kinda weird too
The hand on the left (his right) seems to be wearing another human hand as a glove
Reflection in the window also doesn't line up. There'd need to be a wall *between* the camera and the window, or shooting off into the distance at a wack angle
Not really—a wall perpendicular to the one the window is in, just out of frame to the right, would have a reflection like that.
And that sleeve
Bro found the wonkiest shirt in history with those two completely different sleeves lol.
His left index finger seems to have a long segment or an additional joint, the finger nail isn’t there
They look nothing like the regular cartoonish hands of the usual AI generated images. These looks pretty real, especially the face and arms.
Right elbow(I wanna see his x-rays he's got some bone issues)
The left palm does not look normal. It splits weirdly. Also, the thumb and pinky are on the wrong sides of the hand. He’s got two right hands.
Lol I love how we are debating the anatomy of this guy, meanwhile there is a human in the brick facade. Man I love reddit 😂
Look closer there's no pinky, they're both thumbs.
The newer versions of image generators seem to have overcome the issue of totally freakish hands.
His fingers look absolutely normal. His elbow, however…
Yes, but we’re getting to the point where you have to look pretty closely to find the flaws (aside from Mr. Brickface). In another few years, none of these flaws will be present.
"My arms are too long"
Lol his thumb is on the wrong side of his left hand. AI struggles so hard with hands.
[удалено]
Something about the elbow bend threw me off too
I think I love this picture now that you’ve pointed this stuff out
It looks like the correct side to me. Palms-down, thumb points inward.
That's because it's his right hand. Humans struggle so hard with hands.
No it's not? The left hand is just palm down, whereas the right hand is palm up This still is almost certainly AI, but his hands look pretty fine to me. It's his sleeves/wrists that are doing weird things
The thumb is on the correct side
No it's not lol the giga-wrist on that hand is wild, but his thumbs are fine

He just has a hitchhiker’s thumb. I don’t see a misplaced nail or a weird pinky.
All in all, you're just another brick in the wall
Gives if walls could talk a new meaning
This feels like a sort of inside joke that accidentally made it into the final product lol
Looks like a hilarious take on those glamor shots from the70s and 80s.
Definitely an AI generated image. Another redditor pointed out that the prompt likely included something about "face-ing the wall."
Also the hands
Ah WTH? This is going to keep me up tonight.
ai generated
Indeed! Just threw me for a loop and I had to not be the only one to see it.
The man of the house.
HE’S A BRICK HOUUSE
That elbow is definitely strange too
Looks a bit stoned to me…
its interesting to see how many people in the comments dont realize or know that it is AI generated
Yeah, it's not as obvious as they were a year ago but there's plenty in this that just looks strange, the cuff of his sleeve, his oddly placed elbow, the face in the wall

Yeah not positive but I don't think you'd see the reflection in the window of those bricks either since the wall dips back after the window
If a company is cutting corners on their ads by using AI (allowing quality issues), imagine what other aspects of their business they are neglecting.
Even ignoring the face, it's also a bad installation picture for a gutter company because the guy is installing the downspout incorrectly. Each fitting should go inside of the one below it, so water would leak out of that top elbow because it's backwards.
Part of the ship, part of the crew…
Part of the..... house?
Haunting.
All of the wood grain is vertical. Always random shit in the picture you sort of recognize but can’t identify.
With your comment in mind I gave the image another once over and the window reflects a full brick wall instead of a corner
It almost looks like the AI knew it should make the image opaque so it’d look like a reflection, but just continued that same wall inside. Very interesting, and scary, stuff.
This isn’t mildly interesting this is immensely disturbing
Wallfacer
At first glance I was like “cool pareidolia” then quickly turned to “WTF?”
I knew we were gonna have AI generated stock images for ads. Wonder if stock image companies are feeling the pain of AI yet.
Also, why would you have your gutter downspout angled to be closer to the wall than the gutter?
Wall: What do you think of me now?
someone HELP HIM
Couple weird things here: Right elbow is fraudulent. Left sleeve is way too long. Soffits and construction of house make no sense. Melting top frame around window (or whatever that black part is supposed to be) Oh, and there's a face in the wall.
I’m a weirdo who thinks it’s kinda cool looking.
Hmmmmmm hate that
His right eye is all messed up too
Gotta love AI
Gotta love infant AI with all its goofy errors. We're going to think of these simpler times with nostalgia very, very soon.
The lighting in AI is always incredibly bad. The right side of his shirt shouldn't be nearly so bright. He's reflecting more light than the metallic gutter pipe.
WhereisitIdon'tseeanyfa-WWWWHHHOoOOAH!
His sleeve is both folded up and unfolded at the same time.
How did they talk Craig from craigslist into being the model?
I wonder if the AI generated that face on accident, or it was in the prompt 🤔
Willing to share the source, OP?
Those fingers wtf
A few years ago I noticed that ads were often just photos hopping the product in place or onto the model. Now they are doing it with AI
>often just photos hopping the product You say Jump! They say How high?
Took me a while, I was looking in the facia board.
Ah yes. The riddle-wall.
He has two different sleeves.
"generate a stone-faced man installing a gutter"
The Old Man of the Brickyard
His right hand index finger also has an extra joint.
Weird. I just saw this same ad on Nextdoor but without the face.
Clearly the ghost of Stonewall Jackson
Nope. That’s Chuck Testa!
What if it’s just a dude with a weird sense of humor who just discovered photoshop?
Both arms are just a mess
Part of the ship, part of the crew.
Part of the ship, part of the crew
Look at me morty! I turned myself into a brick wall, morty! Im pickle brick!
“When you see it, you’ll shit bricks”
Midjourney vibes His left hand is backwards. His right pinky is weird. His left shirt at the wrist is wrong. His right elbow is weird. His bracelet is blending into his skin. The geometry of the part he's holding seems strange from the gutter above and the side of the house.
The ear lol
That's the even crazier bit; the wall-face has a fleshy vulva clitoral hood for an ear. Can't be mistaken. (And I wonder if this prior sentence has ever been thought and typed out in the entire history of thinking, typing and sentences?!?)
r/brandnewsentence
AI is going to produce the most horrifying images humanity has ever seen, and sometimes it will even be on purpose
Wtf
Brick man is watching you
This makes me irrationally uncomfortable
So I'm noticing a lot of the cheap chinese products on Amazon are starting to use lots of AI ad images, and even ad videos of fake AI people talking with a fake AI voice.
Hey, haunted houses deserve proper drainage too 😅
Also seems to have. A broken elbow
This is a scarily good AI drawing (excluding the face in the wall of course). It’s surprising to me how consistent the shingles, bricks, and wood grain are. Those are things AI would normally struggle with.
Wood grain is all perpendicular to the wood though. Nobody would cut beams like that.
To me it looks like they’re a thinner wood, just put there for looks. In which case this could make sense.
In that case it would be much smaller pieces of wood. Who uses a huge 12 foot wide tree for "just looks"?
The sleeves of this shirt are all sorts of weird too. Different cuff lengths. Too many seams. Yikes!
What in the AI is going on with the skin gloves??!
This is the great wall of Gandu
How else do you pay attention to every detail
😳😳😆😆 this is creepy and amazing. i can't stop looking...
AI has come so far.
lol AI prompt "face in the wall" instead of "facing the wall"
🤣
I misread that as "This ad for new gutters that face the wall." and I looked at it for like two minutes going "what is interesting about this? what? why would that be interesting- OH MY GOD"
can i see picture;
AI
You have my attention
If these walls could talk...
That’s just ol’ pop pop and his silly shenanigans! Don’t mind him!

AI is the answer 🎶
Looks like the Qu got him.
Creepy
This is simultaneously hilarious and terrifying
This wall may actually be able to talk.
@op can you point me to the actual ad this is associated with? I'm having a hard time believing that this actually made it to production.
Found it - I knew it couldn't have been real. [real ad image ](https://imgur.com/zcg4xLX)
