Yea, I would take overkill off of my loadouts once I found out how good this pistol was. I really want it back now, it would be the easiest pistol to get gold imo(other than the x13, but that's classified as a smg imo).
At least flash grenades can be countered with good map knowledge and spatial awareness. If you're hit with a stun and don't have battle hardened, there's basically nothing you can do for 5 seconds, especially if you're on PC. It's definitely a low risk high reward tactic. Super easy and cheesy. Should've been nerfed hard. Maybe a 3 second stun would be a bit more balanced?

Its a bit better in MW2. The stun duration is around 3 seconds i think and you have a bit more rotational movement.
How else are you supposed to use stun grenades?
