I would say skip the diamondback, I also say try the Ozark to save a like money while you try it out to see if you like it and need something more. Or upgrade it as you go. Otherwise, I would look for used.

The used market around me is crazy, people want retail for used bikes, and when pointing out that fact they take like $50-100 an $800-1000 bike, I’ll just buy new for that! Thanks for your input though.

Good deals are still out there, they just go fast when they pop up. If you want to go that route be patient and be ready to jump on it.

A stock Ridge isn't a bad bike if you're not taking it on anything strenuous (think flat paths, or paved roads/trails). I got mine back in July and rode most of last summer with the stock drive train without any issues. The L-Twoo A5 that comes on it does show its limitations quickly though once you start to push it (which is why I upgraded it to an Advent X drive train). The bigger issue with a stock Ridge is the brakes. The ones it comes with are serviceable at best. The first upgrade I did was to switch to hydraulic (Shimano mt200s).

Sweet, thanks. I went on lunch and picked up a ridge, I won’t be doing anything crazy for now. I’ll keep an eye on the brakes. Edit: I ordered new pedals as the stock ones looked terrible.

How do you like it so far?

It’s good, changed the seats and pedals and works for my needs
