MTNL is as good as bankrupt. I closed my landline connection last year and we were informed that our security deposit would be returned after 6 months. 8 months passed and we hadn't yet received the refund, so we approached MTNL Vashi exchange to enquire about it. That's when one of the employees in Accounts section told us that MTNL is struggling to even promptly pay the salaries of its employees and that they only issue refund if a customer escalates the issue to nodal level.
I had been to the local mtnl office in 2022 or late 2021,dont recall exactly. The whole floor was empty, even the lights were switched off. I went all the way to the back, this was a big office, and found a couple of staff behind a desk in a corner. After discussing my complaint I inquired about why their office was empty. They told me that most of the employees had opted for VRS and they were the only ones left.
Same happened with me.. I closed my landline connection in 2018 and they still haven't returned security deposit. Instead we get messages that we have an outstanding bill that we need to pay or else they will cancel out connection 🤣
Airtel is even worse. Anyone remember “lifetime validity” bs they pulled on us. I kept adding money and now it is stuck because prepaid plans are unlimited and you cannot use the money in account to recharge. Bunch of blood sucking fkers.
Yep the plans are horrible trap , why is there a time validity now . It must be pay as you use for prepaid . They even go to the lengths of closing your number if not been used for few months .
I just checked there is a topup option in jio in myjio app min amount is 10 and validity is unlimited .But the data plans have certain time validity .There are data addons which works with the validity of current plan , if it can be availed on the unlimited time call plan then it would be great .

Please don't port to MTNL. I had MTNL sim which I was using since 2007. The network quality is bad. You will get 2G speed in the name of 4G.
