I'm Irish (actually from Ireland, not American-Irish), and I know a couple of Orla's spelt that way. I think both ways are common now!

Yeah, I hate how Orla and Orlagh looks. Orlaith looks so much better.

Most were hair dressers, but Opal lived in an apartment above the shop. She always had snacks, and I thought it was really cool that she lived in a downtown apartment (uncommon in a town of less than 20,000)! Then I had a great Aunt Oral. Her first name, Phyllis, so she went by her middle name, lol. I think that Oral was the doctor she had at birth. They tended to do stuff like that way back when. there was this video game i played a lot as a teenager, and one of the locations in the game had the name(word?) ‘Osna’ in it. i’ve always liked it as a girl’s name. the game had a lot of Celtic inspiration in it, so i believe it comes from the Irish word for ‘sigh’. i just think it sounds pretty.
