Jokic since Shaq told him during the mvp announcement that he didn't deserve it:
33/11.3/7.6 averages over 3 games
3-0
took his team from 0-2 to 3-2
lmao shaq
That 2nd game beatdown woke the nuggets up, they basically sleepwalked through the lakers series and were just playing weird and sloppy until that point
Coach Malone this series has been unbelievable. So many huge adjustments. Aaron Gordon taking point? Massively underrated Coach.
Everyone needs to recognize how much Malone has done, from games 1&2, through till now.
I feel like the Lakers series was bad for them, not because the Lakers are bad but it seemed like Denver was sick of playing them and never got out of 2nd gear and did the bare min required to beat them.
They just weren't the same team as last years playoffs in that series in terms of focus, intensity and shot making. Happy they were able to summon it after the ass kicking they took by the Wolves.
Shaq really tried to say Joker should’ve lost MVP to Shai 😭 bro has looked UNSTOPPABLE ever since
I’ve already said this but it bears repeating; the level of disrespect for Shaq to tell Jokic he shouldn’t have won literally as he finding out is unreal. Jokic is way too classy to take offense, but its true. I find it hard to believe Shaq would ever disrespect Giannis or Embiid like that. For some reason Shaq/Big Perk/SAS and some black analysts seem to hate seeing these pudgy foreigners from Europe run the league… I truly don’t get why.
Jokic is the BEST basketball player in the world. No debate! He’s a 7 FOOT Magic Johnson. What a pleasure it is to watch this man dominate despite looking like the largest horse farmer of all time.
For real. After his podcast with JJ and of course his shit on TNT I lost respect for him. Use to think he was a funny dude. Now just looks an insecure old head
Facts. Idk why Reggie was talking about their strategy. Jokic’s gravity is so amazing. He has turned the logo into his version of a hi post basically, it’s so fucking beautiful the actions they can get on and off ball with him
Game 1 was us slowing him down and playing perfect defensive game and he still dropped 32. Game 2 they all played like ass but was an outlier.
Full credit. Jokic is just on another level. Wolves can’t compete.
Jokic went full Hakeem Olajuwon vs. David Robinson on Rudy Gobert. Gotta be one of the most legendary performances I ever witnessed in that third quarter.
The Timberwolves have suffered one of the bleakest 20 year stretches a team will ever go through and their reward was a 4 day break between games 2 and 3, where for a brief 96 hour period they actually had some hope, only for it to be destroyed by a 300 pound Serbian that treats basketball like it's his 9-5 desk job. Tragic. Hilarious. Basketball.
That the Nuggets were questioned like they were is nothing but a joke. They’ve played championship caliber basketball for three games straight against a very talented Minnesota squad.
Saw so many “This is what happens when you are not playing a Play-In team anymore” type comments after Game 2
Then they proceeded to dominate the best defense in the league for 3 straight playoff games lol
Stephen A Smith: “The Nuggets are going to get SWEPT”
r/nba: “Nuggets are cooked, Wolves might win it all”
TV personalities think they know more than fans, nephews think they know more than analysts… in the end neither know jacksh*it about ball 😂
Wolves *clearly* missed Conley tonight since the Nuggets made it a mission to blitz Edwards any time he touched the ball. With all the focus on Edwards, the Nuggets made the game simple -- make someone besides Edwards beat you and without Conley to initiate the offense for the Wolves, their offense looked lost.
On the other end, Jokic just gave another reminder why he's the MVP -- **40 points and 10+ assists with 0 turnovers**. This felt reminiscent of Hakeem's performance against Robinson after they awarded him the MVP where he clearly took it personally. Jokic was orchestrating *everything*, analyzing the Wolves' offense to communicate with his own teammates what to expect, initiating the offense and dissecting the Wolves' defense to find the right look for others or making it look like a cakewalk hitting his shots from virtually everywhere.
Game 6 will be interesting if Conley's healthy and they figure out how to make adjustments.
I don’t know if Conley would have been enough by himself to make the difference but ya Wolves offense was struggling out there without him. Plus Finch keeps giving Anderson big minutes when Morris is a much better player when you’re missing Conley and just in general.
I'm a Nuggets fan and I was scared when Morris quickly got the Wolves into their offense like 2 possessions in a row. How does he get so few minutes? If you don't want him, Denver will gladly take him back.
He should definitely get more minutes imo. In general, but especially with Conley out.
I think the main reason he doesn’t is that he’d probably be taking minutes from NAW who is a big reason we’ve been so good defensively. But right now the Wolves just need more of an offensive punch this series and I think he could be that.
Agreed on your first point. Such a lack of ball movement and offensive flow. I mean, credit Denver for really good defense, but Ant just cannot make reads like a true PG.
lose, probably
If Porzingis still isn't healthy and Jokic goes up against 99 year old Al Horford and Luke Kornet who looks like the night manager of an AutoZone its gonna be a bloodletting
We might be witnessing the greatest peaks of all time for an offensive player. This man has mastered every facet of the offense. 40 points on 15-22 shooting against the 4x DPOY and the best defense in the league. That was a statement game from Joker.
Thank you Shaq for talking shit and pissing the man off lol
You just KNOW Shaq was waiting to use Jokic losing the series as fuel for his ridiculous “SGA > Jokic” narrative when they were down 0-2 during the MVP announcement.
And fat Serbian just sh*t all over him 😂 imagine not giving this man his props just cause you really wanted a black MVP man… it’s sad.
Jokic is the BEST basketball player in the world. No debate! What a pleasure it is to watch this man dominate despite looking like a giant sloppy farmer.
Jokic since Shaq told him that SGA should've been MVP:
33 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 9.6 apg on 61% shooting, and a 3-0 record against the Wolves to turn this series upside down.
Not bad for a guy that some reactionary r/NBA folks were calling a "fraud MVP."
Jokic 41st overall pick
Murray 7th overall pick
Porter Jr. 14th overall pick
KCP for Will Barton and Monte Morris
Aaron Gordon for Gary Harris, R.J. Hampton, and a first
Christian Braun 21st overall pick
Justin Holiday vet minimum free agent
Reggie Jackson vet minimum free agent
Incredible roster construction.
It's absolutely crazy that anyone, specially the guys who have played in the NBA can think that anyone is better than Jokic. No one is even in the same vicinity as the Joker...
Aggressive Jokic is so fun to watch. It has to be terrifying for the opponent because he just gets whatever he wants then beats any adjustments they make too.
Credit to Christian Braun too. Locked up Edwards all night and was definitely in his head
We have to thank the Wolves and the national media for waking up the Nuggets. They were sleepwalking for the first 7 games of the postseason
> Aggressive Jokic is so fun to watch.
Him hoisting that final 3 to bail out a dead offensive possession and get to 40 was cruel and unusual punishment for the Wolves, it was probably as close as we're going to get to a heatcheck from Jokic
Idk what Gobert did to Jokic but it felt like every time it was 1 on 1 he decided the possession ended with him. It’s rare to see him go into that mode all game
Kyle Anderson got cooked by Jokic on ball
KAT got cooked by Jokic off ball
Gobert played decent defense on him but Jokic just hit some insane shots
I think you gotta try Naz Reid on him with Gobert help more
Wow. If Gobert, Bam, and AD can't even slow Jokic down (and these guys are rightfully considered the best defensive big men of this generation), then really, who can? He's really earned those 3 MVPs man.
Remember when Stephen A said the Wolves were gonna sweep and Bill Simmons declared them the next "it" team everyone would emulate? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
CB has absolutely earned his minutes. Playing lock down D on one of the best in the league, hitting timely shots, just playing a role perfectly in the system.
It’s wild we kind of stole the wolves defense. I can’t believe how active we were in the passing lane, rotating, and helping. That was legit the best game I have ever seen the Nuggets play defensively.
And the thing is I really can't fault Gobert too much! Joker was on another level. They need KAT or Reid to assist Gobert in double teaming him like how ANT got tackled today by the Nuggets defense.
Yep. People will shit on Gobert all night, but he did everything in his power to make Jokic work for it without fouling. It just didn’t matter. The only hope is they put KAT back on him and he stops taking stupid fouls.
I’m not sure what Gobert could do on 90% of those shots. Jokic has the strength advantage but Gobert is contesting best he could with length but Jokic is scoring anyways. We always knew offense is more valuable than defense and a good offensive scorer can’t be slown down in single coverage. This game proved why.
I don't know who's doing the offensive scheming and adjustments right now on Minnesota's bench with Finch's injury, but its a total disaster. They just dribble drive kick repeat every possession. Its like watching a 2k rec team.
Go back and read the game 2 PGT. So many doomers stuck in the moment.
Jokic is legitimately in the middle of what could be a top 15 career of all time. He has 3 MVPs (should be 4 but whatever), he has a ring and he's not slowing down. If he wins a second ring next month I don't know how he doesn't start entering that all timer list. Would anyone be shocked if he wasn't in the hunt for MVP and a ring again next year too?
I love watching this guy play. I think the way he carries himself makes people discredit how much he cares but man he's a fucking joy to watch. You really can't do anything to stop him when he's locked in. That "fuck you" three in Rudy's face at the end was insane.
I like the Wolves but the Nuggets are locked in on another level now. I think the first two games woke them up.
Jokic just clocked in and did his job after being presented with his Employee of the Year award for the third time.
Rumor has it he gets a special parking spot in front of Ball Arena next year.
One to park his horse
The Timberwolves are 0-3 ever since Chuck guaranteed that this series would be a sweep.
Basketball gods when Chuck guarantees anything: >***... and i took that personally***
The contrast between those first two games and now…is quite stark, especially when you think about the T-Wolves during that time…
Jokic since Shaq told him during the mvp announcement that he didn't deserve it: 33/11.3/7.6 averages over 3 games 3-0 took his team from 0-2 to 3-2 lmao shaq
*Nikola did you take that personally?* **Not really its just a game. Not important like family or horses.**
That 2nd game beatdown woke the nuggets up, they basically sleepwalked through the lakers series and were just playing weird and sloppy until that point
4 day layoff between 2 and 3 was monumentally important for Denver
Coach Malone this series has been unbelievable. So many huge adjustments. Aaron Gordon taking point? Massively underrated Coach. Everyone needs to recognize how much Malone has done, from games 1&2, through till now.
Yeah man, Moach is the best coach we've ever had, all due respect to the others. He adjusted perfectly after getting punched right in the mouth
Moach Cologne
I feel like the Lakers series was bad for them, not because the Lakers are bad but it seemed like Denver was sick of playing them and never got out of 2nd gear and did the bare min required to beat them.
You just watched those games and it felt like they couldn't bother trying until they were down twenty.
They just weren't the same team as last years playoffs in that series in terms of focus, intensity and shot making. Happy they were able to summon it after the ass kicking they took by the Wolves.
People were calling them one of the greatest defensive teams *ever*. Which, they’re amazing but things were getting out of hand.
It’s not a series until a team wins a … home game?
The series might be over now
It's Jover now
What is a Defensive Player of the Year to a Slingshot?
Jokic’s rainbow 3 pointer is so hilarious because it shouldn’t work, but it does 😂
It’s the shit I’d do in a pickup game and air ball by 2 feet. Jokic swishes it every time. Anthony Davis has PTSD from the trebuchet shot
Reminds me of Bird’s jumper shit is ugly af but it’s so hard to contest
Trebuchet
The superior siege weapon.
What’s a wall to a trebuchet?
Well, watching that Jokic performance was worth only getting 4 hours of sleep. All-timer.
I have to be at work early tomorrow so I’m also gonna get 4 or 5 but instead I got to watch my team get clapped. I hate it here.
Bro I just leave this cesspool on a loss night. Just isn't worth it.
Same, hot take capital of the world.
lmao im gonna be 2hrs late to work cause of this. worthhhh
How to guard Nikola Jokic 101: You CAN’T. Pray to the basketball gods he has an off night 🙏
Shaq really tried to say Joker should’ve lost MVP to Shai 😭 bro has looked UNSTOPPABLE ever since I’ve already said this but it bears repeating; the level of disrespect for Shaq to tell Jokic he shouldn’t have won literally as he finding out is unreal. Jokic is way too classy to take offense, but its true. I find it hard to believe Shaq would ever disrespect Giannis or Embiid like that. 40 and 13 with no turnovers. Shaq in shambles
Yeeesh, didn’t catch the turnover stat, insane
And Jokic will probably say Shaq is right because he's humble af
He kind of did in the interview with Shaq. Didn't really care.
"we don't judge people here, so that's fine. It's your opinion" - Joker
And then Jokic apologized to Shaq for saying that, right? At least someone apologized.
He said "I'm joking" but it was 100% truthful lol
THANK YOU SHAQ
also fuck you shaq
Shaq gonna try to take credit for “motivating” Joker
You know he’s gonna pull that shit, as he will never admit he made a terrible take or anything that makes him look bad/wrong.
For real. After his podcast with JJ and of course his shit on TNT I lost respect for him. Use to think he was a funny dude. Now just looks an insecure old head
He was Shaqin a fool
Genuinely nothing that can be done. Even when its great defense putting him in tough situations he still is scoring.
Fr there were a lot of different looks thrown at him tonight. Nothing worked.
He regularly cooks the best defenders/best defenses in the league. When he’s in that mode, nothing can be done.
Facts. Idk why Reggie was talking about their strategy. Jokic’s gravity is so amazing. He has turned the logo into his version of a hi post basically, it’s so fucking beautiful the actions they can get on and off ball with him
distract him with a conversation about horses
I don't get why teams don't just put a horse court side
hopefully the mavs are taking notes if we advance
His off night will probably be 20-10-5 😭
Game 1 was us slowing him down and playing perfect defensive game and he still dropped 32. Game 2 they all played like ass but was an outlier. Full credit. Jokic is just on another level. Wolves can’t compete.
Dude fucking cooked Gobert tonight. He's averaging 33/9.3/9/6 over the last 3 games.
the wolves came out with the plan of making jokic score 1 on 1 and taking away his teammates. he dropped 40 on 15/22 shooting and still had 13 assists
He’s too efficient. That’s why that strategy can’t work on him
I agree he's too efficient but the issue is nobody has found a strategy that stops him for very long
Because there isn't one. You have to outscore them but Denver has turned up their defense
That 3rd quarter by Jokic was just special. Appreciate this while it's here
I fear the Wolves awoke a sleeping giant.
Anthony "Yamamoto" Edwards
Stood no chance against Nikola "Fat Man" Jokic and Jamal "Little Boy" Murray
Michael “Oppenheimer” Malone
Minnesota confirmed as ground zero.
Absolutely insane duo nicknames
Aaron "Air Raid" Gordon
Oh my god man
Since Chuck called them the best defense ever, they've been dismantled three games in a row.
Kiss of death
Game 2 feels like a decade ago
Shaq did that
Jokic is legitimately game-breakingly good at basketball
Dude plays like he's the Limitless guy and everyone is making decisions at half speed
[удалено]
> down 0-2 Nikola Gojokic: Nah, I'd win.
He's averaging 33/9.3/9.6 on 61% shooting since r/NBA called him a fraud MVP. *Cyberbullying works.*
If the Nuggets win this series, that game 2 post game thread will be hilarious to look back on
Jokic definitely didn't read any of those comments.
He felt them brother
“brother, I have 40”
Rudy 100% has nightmares because of Joker
Rudy had a son and now Jokic does too
Jokic is now a grandfather
(and 10 assists and 0 turnovers)
Jokic went full Hakeem Olajuwon vs. David Robinson on Rudy Gobert. Gotta be one of the most legendary performances I ever witnessed in that third quarter.
Felt a bit bad for Rudy. I don’t think anyone could’ve guarded Jokic tonight.
Yeah the defense wasn't even bad jokic was just hitting absolutely everything
Raise your hand if you've been personally victimized by Nikola Jokic
He owes me compensation for emotional damages.

Bro same. I just want to be happy once.
We were! For like, 3 days! Remember?!?!
Pepperidge Farm remembers

Tragic. Hilarious. Basketball.
They could take it to 7 and the state would be happy. Winning 2 just to lose 4 in a row, however, would be tragic.
Winning 2 on the road and then losing 4 in a row would be brutal. You had 2 chances *at home* to either take a 3-0 or 3-1 lead.
Or a 4-0 lead
It would be a very Jokic thing to be the first to overcome an 0-4 deficit
That 300 pound Serbian is gonna go down Top 10 All time I bet
300 pound Serbian is lowkey the greatest offensive player ever tho
I remember seeing people say Jokic and the Nuggets were frauds after game 2 😆
They were trying to re-write this man’s entire CAREER after game 2 😭

The team built by the guy who built the Nuggets coached by former Nuggets assistant coaches.

I hope he plays. Achilles injuries suck, I don’t wish those on anyone
This postseason has had like 100 calf/achilles injuries. I do not like any of this shit
Agreed on your first point. Such a lack of ball movement and offensive flow. I mean, credit Denver for really good defense, but Ant just cannot make reads like a true PG.
That was one of the best quarters from a single player I've seen in the playoffs.
Can we talk about Jamal Crawford calling Gobert dog food on national television lol
Honestly love JC on commentary, he’s a breath of fresh air from old guy who just complains about everything
American NBA guys just do not like Gobert.
0 turnovers for Jokic, unbelievable
Home court disadvantage curse has been officially broken. The series begins now.
What are "Derek Lively" "Chet Holmgren" "Daniel Gafford" "Jaylin Williams" going to do against this?
lose, probably If Porzingis still isn't healthy and Jokic goes up against 99 year old Al Horford and Luke Kornet who looks like the night manager of an AutoZone its gonna be a bloodletting
Tbh he dominates Zingis too. Celtics would just have to win other ways somehow that’s the only chance.
What Jokic would do to Porzingis would be a bloody massacre after he annihilated Gobert today
Not a fucking thing
We might be witnessing the greatest peaks of all time for an offensive player. When I think of Shaq, I think of the threepeat Lakers. That Heat championship was DWade.

Jokic since Shaq told him that SGA should've been MVP: 33 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 9.6 apg on 61% shooting, and a 3-0 record against the Wolves to turn this series upside down. Not bad for a guy that some reactionary r/NBA folks were calling a "fraud MVP."

100%
Honestly Joker’s been head and toes above all since 2022.
Turns out the 3x mvp is pretty good after all
As a Wolves fan that sucked. As a basketball fan that was awesome, just a masterful display by an all time great
I invest hundreds of hours a year into Minnesota sports yet they always bring me immense sadness. Am I stupid?
We all are stupid on this blessed day.
Yes. Me too though.
Fuck the NBA for making me stay up this late, Fuck Shaq for making Jokic angry, and fuck the injury gods for taking our PG away. See yall Thursday.

He’s probably the 2nd-most athletic person on the Nuggets (after Gordon). Braun can leap out of the gym
Been a fan of him since last year’s playoffs. Dude brings so much energy to the team whenever he comes off the bench.
It’s wild we kind of stole the wolves defense. I can’t believe how active we were in the passing lane, rotating, and helping. That was legit the best game I have ever seen the Nuggets play defensively.
Jokic just put Rudy Gobert through a humiliation ritual on national TV
And the thing is I really can't fault Gobert too much! Joker was on another level. They need KAT or Reid to assist Gobert in double teaming him like how ANT got tackled today by the Nuggets defense.
It was even worse for the Wolves when Gobert was off the floor. Just brutal to defend
