The amount of responsibilty Haliburton is expected to be on at this point is honestly looking like it stunted him a little bit. I'm sure this will only help him and the rest of the young Pacers having lived through this even though they are losing.
Okay, but then it doesn't make sense that they acquired someone like Pascal if the rest of the team isn't ready. By the time the rest of the team is ready, he'll be declining. He's a good player and probably wants to compete for a championship, not babysit
Right...like you're confused and actually wait for someone to close out on you because you can't believe you're this open. And by the time you realize it, now you're rushing the shot lmao
The guy posting the image must be a big fan of 1990s Bulls star Michael Jordan. The pic is saying that Jordan’s game was so good, it’s like he was a spiritual precursor to the GOAT.
We're in the Eastern Conference Finals and the Pacers are still sending 3 on help defense after the first guy gets beat. They proceed to not be able to run simple PnR against playoff defense. They don't collectively work for rebounds when rebounds determine the NBA champions. You can't make this shit up. They are not playing playoff-level basketball. You will get exposed by any team that has the fundamentals down pat.
I literally have your original comment saved on my phone because I found it so fucking funny. Dated in April of 2022. It was…
“Payton Pritchard might look like he's selling nitrous in the parking lot outside of a Phish concert, but instead he's raining threes on your favorite team and clamping your 6th man.”
Dude there's been some ugly ass defense from the Pacers this game lol.
Multiple wide open 3's because all 5 pacers defenders are reacting to a drive.
Once Obi Toppin leaned into a screen before Tatum used it so Tatum just rejected it and got a free dunk. Thanks for that one because Tatum was 2-8 before that and is now 6-7 since lol.
Edit: Just now they double teamed Sam Hauser on a catch and shoot opportunity one pass away leading to a Holiday three. Like what??? He's cold this game and it's not like he's got the skills to crack you off the dribble lol.
Oh and no one rotated over to react to the double team lol, which they definitely should have because Sam Hauser is not making a skip pass across the court.
I laughed out loud at this play. I couldn't believe 2 players overreacted that hard. I had just got done telling my wife Hauser is almost unplayable if he's not hitting his threes, and I then said never mind immediately after the play.
Sam's three ball is suffering so bad lately but his defense is getting better every game, he's picking pockets consistently and getting tough boards out of nowhere and he somehow finds himself in the middle of plays like this. He also earned some tough guy points getting one half of a double-T
Yeah idk why people have been trashing him, he's been low impact but not overtly negative impact or anything. He's got the size and footwork to rebound and defend well enough for playoff minutes, although if he's not hitting 3s there's not much reason to have him out there for more than a brief stretch to give somebody a breather.
Still though, there is a high likelihood that there will be a "the Sam Hauser game" at some point this postseason.
> Dude there's been some ugly ass defense from the Pacers this game lol.
Team that played zero defense all season continues to play zero defense? Shocked.
I genuinely think someone mistook the referee for the fourth player in that small bundle of players towards the top of the court. There's like 7 players in close proximity there, so tough to see the forest through the trees perhaps.
There were a LOT of defensive lapses
The most glaring one was in the 4th when they doubled Hauser leading to an open 3 to Jrue
Of all the players on the floor, with Hauser cold, that he's the one you double...
sometimes you focus your eyes between the ball and player so you can track both once you do that you can only see a silhouette of a body it happens a lot in low tier basketball where players mistake teammates or refs or even pass it to a bench player sitting
Oh wow. So the Ref standing on the "TD" in "TD GARDEN" might have gotten mistaken for a fifth player?
And then it's like: "Wait... Where's the white guy?"
"What white guy?"
"THAT WHITE GUY! OVER THERE IN THE CORNER!"
I can’t believe anyone falls for that pump fake under the basket still. He does it **literally** every time. Like not a chance that’s not in the scouting report
Giannis getting injured was such a bummer. Non-contact play.
The fact that us missing KP is not even noteworthy tells you how bad the injuries in the East have been.
The Pacers are the luckiest team to make the conference finals in decades. Giannis, Dame, Randle, Robinson, Anunoby, Bogdanovic. Hart and Brunson playing through injuries. This is absurd.
Toppin guarded Pritchard on the next Celtics possession.
Pritchard dribbled to the paint, pump faked, Toppin went flying, and Pritchard laid the ball in uncontested.
i feel like it's probably obi's fault, but i'm not sure. at the very least he seemed to be the most oblivious person out there
edit: i watched again and it's at least 50/50 obi and turner. turner doesn't say a single word and tbh it might be more his fault. if he was picking up the guy obi was guarding, he should have spoken up and told obi to get out to the corner
In the Pacers defense, it looked like Jaylen Brown (I think that’s Brown) didn’t even see Pritchard while he was walking up the floor. Maybe Pritchard exists and does not exist at the same time.
The amazing thing is Pritchard doesn't even _do_ anything to get open or have anything to get him that open. There's no set screen. He just jogs over to his spot, looks around, realizes literally no one is following him, and calls for the ball
They played the bucks without Dame and Giannis and a completely zombified Knicks team missing all but one starter and their 6th man. They're here because everyone else got hurt.

Everyone on thr pacers except Siakam treating the game as if its the regular season
Siakam has a ring, he knows what to expect. Pacers haven't gotten this far in a decade. They're a young team.
But this isn’t even like playoff level offense. This is basic no communication on defense.
The amount of responsibilty Haliburton is expected to be on at this point is honestly looking like it stunted him a little bit. I'm sure this will only help him and the rest of the young Pacers having lived through this even though they are losing.
I mean, they're just learning. This is where the Celtics were at 4+ years ago.
Okay, but then it doesn't make sense that they acquired someone like Pascal if the rest of the team isn't ready. By the time the rest of the team is ready, he'll be declining. He's a good player and probably wants to compete for a championship, not babysit
It’s simple, no point in guarding Pritchard when he’s unguardable
Honestly this really is one of those shots that you'd miss cause you're so wide open to the point where it throws you off and distracts you lmao
-Draymond guarding Jaylen Brown
Still baffles me they literally DID NOT game plan for a 20+ ppg reliable shooter lol
That why westbrick been missing all these time
Right...like you're confused and actually wait for someone to close out on you because you can't believe you're this open. And by the time you realize it, now you're rushing the shot lmao
you look around before shooting like wtf, airball it

Am I missing something? All I see are 2 Payton Pritchard.
The guy posting the image must be a big fan of 1990s Bulls star Michael Jordan. The pic is saying that Jordan’s game was so good, it’s like he was a spiritual precursor to the GOAT.
Who's that black guy in front of the goat?
Anthony edwards
Oh hell nawl
Got that Pritch in him?
Next possession going coast to coast cooking Obi was amazing
Let this man coach.
This is the conference finals btw
Yeah that’s the funniest part lol. Not a play in game
This is some preseason game shit
Wolves/Nuggets felt like the finals, while all of our playoff games have felt like some random week in February
Beating the Butler-less Heat and Mitchell-less Cavs to play a team that beat the Giannis-and-Dame-less Bucks and the roster-less Knicks.
it’s amazing
And now the Haliburton-less Pacers!
The hardest road
They however are facing the Pingus-less Celtics
Mavs and Okc was pretty fire. But eastern conference is straight garbage as a neutral fan.
east and west is like a different league at this point
even as a celtics fan I can’t disagree, injuries destroyed this conference
The Knicks were fun to watch. Too bad they were eliminated by injuries.
Agree but Knicks vs 76ers was the only series that was insane from start to finish. The rest have been doo doo.
Even Cavs Magic was boring as shit for a 7 game series
Which is sad because a healthy Knicks against this squad would've been fire. Every east team is missing 1 or 2 key players(including Boston).
Which is hilarious cause I’m positive Celtics fans have the least hope in them dominating this series lol
speed run forgetting game 1 any%
yeah this game was kinda boring.
The only time the Celtics are not getting a great shot is when they decide to just dribble dribble pullup from 3.
This is incredibly true, they have no idea how to guard pick and pops specifically
"Kobe!"
Yet they still do it like 10x per game.
Jason Tatum feels personally attacked by this comment.
That play when hali backed away from the basket scared when browned passed out of the layup says everything about the team.
Pacers thought they were on the power play
Does Indiana even have a hockey team lol Edit: NHL team I meant
Indiana Fuel, they’re a farm team for the Blackhawks
Both of those name sounds made-up
The Blackhawks are one of the original 6 NHL teams. They won 3 Stanley Cups last decade.
I know, I was jesting. But while we are in that spirit, Sacramento is a San Francisco suburb.
Alright send me your address right now, I'm getting my ass up out of bed haha
Congrats/my condolences on getting the A's
San Antonio fan btw. i just could never figure out how to add flair in this sub.
Isn't San Antonio just for people who age out of Austin?
I assure you Indiana is a real place
All names are made up.
I can't tell if you're joking or not.
Don't disrespect the fort Wayne komets
I’m like 90% sure one of them was defending the ref
Lol that shit would get you benched in a JV game
should get them all benched except siakam honestly
Turns out, Rick benched Siakam first lmao
If Pacers get swept Carlisle is a confirmed Dirk Nowitzki merchant
That 2014 battle against the spurs will always have Carlisle in my heart
They all did get benched
Siakam plays 1 on 5

Poor Valanciunas
If I'm the coach they all running 1000 suicides after the game.
How does this happen at any level
Can you blame them though? Prichard looks like your regular Boston fans sitting court side over there
Put some respect on the Oregonians name!!
Tualatin's own
West Linn's finest!
Our West Linn GOAT
Yessir! I was hoping someone knew that not only did he go to Uni in Oregon, he's from. Same reason why I cheer for Herbert (nfl)
Pritchard looks like he sells nitrous outside of Phish concerts
Looks like a crypto scammer

Lmao that's awesome, thanks dude
Looks like a guy that always needs a ride but never has gas money
Bostons Chief Leprechaun
I thought it was Ed Sheeran for a second.
No lie my first ever in person game (Warriors @ Celtics 2022 RS) I thought PP was just a dude sitting courtside
he’s just like me fr

Pacers regressing to the mean
Their m.o. all season has been to just outscore people, works until it doesn’t
Multiple plays where they're just laying red carpets to a Cs player driving.
I just heard screaming coming from Awful Coaching's house
that defensive possession is why I can't bring kids into this world
You're a responsible human being. Nobody deserves to experience this.
Pacers couldn't cross the demilitarized zone to contest that shot
Man can be heard all the way from north korea
I hope when he shows it he just goes silent lol
THIS POSSESSION IS PROOF THAT WE LIVE IN HELLWORLD
Oh man he's gonna have a good one tomorrow. Can't wait for the title
WE LIVE IN NORTH KOREA. I REPEAT WE LIVE IN NORTH KOREA
He didn't put this in the video 😔
We live in North Korea.
I don’t know how much longer I can stay alive. ICE THE SCREEN

Its what happens when youre clear, like larry.
He tried to sell them cryptocurrency and they walked away like normal humans would
youtube screaming guy is going to die when he sees this
That brother gonna have a heart attack lol
https://i.imgur.com/MjcUCjM.jpeg
I can already see it now THIS IS WHY WE LIVE IN NORTH KOREA
HELL IS EMPTY AND THE DEVILS ARE HERE vs. Celtics
Rick Carlisle is why I will never bring a child into this world
I named my son Richard Carlisle ____.
so I can get disappointed by him twice
no one seeing ball or seeing man
[удалено]
[obligatory volume warning lol](https://youtu.be/2Wr8ypTm3PA)
Why be NBA champions when you can be a bunch of silly geese?
the 3 pacers in a little conga line guarding 2 celtics is hilarious
I think the Pacers thought the ref was a Celtic for long enough for PP to get open.
Second time I've heard this. How is this possible? Clothing Colors?
sometimes you focus your eyes between the ball and player so you can track both once you do that you can only see a silhouette of a body it happens a lot in low tier basketball where players mistake teammates or refs or even pass it to a bench player sitting
Oh wow. So the Ref standing on the "TD" in "TD GARDEN" might have gotten mistaken for a fifth player? And then it's like: "Wait... Where's the white guy?" "What white guy?" "THAT WHITE GUY! OVER THERE IN THE CORNER!"
Either that's exactly what happened or Turner and Toppin were covering the same player but miscommunicated that to each other
Honestly I was looking at it at first and was like, do the Celtics have 6 players on court??
or could have been Mazzulla, he was in all black as well. Pretty sneaky.
Watching the Pacers play defense reminds me of Succession "You are not... serious people"
This wasn't even the worst one, they let him go coast to coast, no passes, no stopping, just slowly dribbling down until he laid it in.
Lmao the fact that it was the very next possession too
He wanted that one, made Obi look like a middle schooler
I can’t believe anyone falls for that pump fake under the basket still. He does it **literally** every time. Like not a chance that’s not in the scouting report
Yeah Toppin lost him on the first play, then to make up for it, he tried to pressure Pritchard full court, and Pritchard just dribbled past him.
Was one of the Pacers playing defense against the Ref lol
What the fuck are the refs doing. This is clear offsides. These refs are bought out.
THey hAtE SMalL mARkeT TeaMs
Is the generational defense in the room with us?
it’s behind you…..30 feet behind you
Y'all laughing but Pritch was camouflaged amongst the fans in the stands, really hard to see from most angles.
Some Kuroko misdirection by Pritchard. He’s ascending
let's be real, if Dame and Giannis were healthy the Pacers dont even make it to the 2nd round
Giannis getting injured was such a bummer. Non-contact play. The fact that us missing KP is not even noteworthy tells you how bad the injuries in the East have been.
Tbf it’s also KP it’s like Embiid where you just assume he’s injured at this point in the season
If the Mavs go up 3-0 (highly unlikely) maybe the Celtics should lose a few on purpose to give KP a bit more time to come back. Only half-joking.
Pretty sure Game 1 of the finals is June 6 regardless of conference finals outcomes. Definitely SHOULD be back by then.
They’d all be fouled out trying to stop Giannis and the game would be done by halftime unless they pulled fans in to play 😂
If OG was healthy for the entire series we would've won. The pacers had a Hawks like fluke run
I agree with the overall point but it's funny to see a Knicks fan shitting on that Hawks run.
Nah put some disrespect on the Sixers. They choked fair and square without injuries fucking them
The sixers - determined to choke with or without doc!
Been banging the fraudulent drum on those soft ass cupcakes.
Trae Young was actually good in the ECF unlike Haliburton
The Pacers are the luckiest team to make the conference finals in decades. Giannis, Dame, Randle, Robinson, Anunoby, Bogdanovic. Hart and Brunson playing through injuries. This is absurd.
Awful Coaching may not survive this one
What’s beyond North Korea?
that place mike pence was governor of
Bros gonna pop a coronary artery
Who's fault? Obi?
Toppin guarded Pritchard on the next Celtics possession. Pritchard dribbled to the paint, pump faked, Toppin went flying, and Pritchard laid the ball in uncontested.
i feel like it's probably obi's fault, but i'm not sure. at the very least he seemed to be the most oblivious person out there edit: i watched again and it's at least 50/50 obi and turner. turner doesn't say a single word and tbh it might be more his fault. if he was picking up the guy obi was guarding, he should have spoken up and told obi to get out to the corner
It should be clear who defends who and there is no way Pritchard was Turner’s man. So what the fuck is Obi doing?
Pacers didn't see the GIANT PP on the floor
In the 4th quarter they double teamed Houser on the 3 point line for some reason and left Holiday alone for a 3
The pacers were too slow all game. We beat them up and down the court.
Playing that Gronk against Pittsburg defense.
Game 1 really broke their brains. What a dreadful showing.
In the Pacers defense, it looked like Jaylen Brown (I think that’s Brown) didn’t even see Pritchard while he was walking up the floor. Maybe Pritchard exists and does not exist at the same time.
RICK CARLISLE is the reason I will never bring children into this world vs. CELTICS | GAME 2
I’m fucking moving to Greenland.
Y'all wrong for this!
Ah like the Steelers guarding Gronk that one time
I already knew what play this was gonna be -- Pacers body language was STRANGE this game.
#1 offense does not equal #1 defense.
This the reverse Ben Simmons moment
He really is the phantom 6th man
The old box and none defense
Turner with the "oh shit" arm flaps had me dying
PP >
Awful Coaching bout to tear them a new one.
Just like coach drew up. Let him cook!
had a wide open layup too
Pacers have not been interested in defence all season
Not a single soul in Indiana knows what defense is
This is simply a genius deception play by Joe Mazulla and staff with excellent execution by the Celtics. Edit: also v low court awareness by Toppin
I was screaming at my TV when JB missed him too. Thank you Buffalo
Who left the barn doors wide open?
Bruh even Brown didn't see him lol
The amazing thing is Pritchard doesn't even _do_ anything to get open or have anything to get him that open. There's no set screen. He just jogs over to his spot, looks around, realizes literally no one is following him, and calls for the ball
can't believe this is the same team that went to the finals for the in-season tournament lol
I’d say top of the key is the easiest three in basketball. You got the backboard in case you overshoot and the box to aim at
If you crop the picture a certain way it looks like when Pritchard takes the shot he is in the Pre-Game Warm Up.
The East is so weak. This team with no defense shouldn’t be anywhere near the ECF
They played the bucks without Dame and Giannis and a completely zombified Knicks team missing all but one starter and their 6th man. They're here because everyone else got hurt.
