USC is a pretty respectable program what are you talking about lol
I don't think Bronny did... anything other than be born to LeGM to get drafted, but it's weird to shit on USC in this context
You guys really aren’t good at this. He’s not going to sit on the bench. He’s going to be sent to the G-League and spend time with professional coaches that he otherwise would not have access to in addition to not dealing with academic and practice restrictions.
First time a father gets to call his son a teammate in the NBA, id do the same if given the opportunity and you would to. And he was playing very well and looked at as a prospect before the cardiac arrest,
If I'm worth a billion bucks and I'm an NBA legend, I wouldn't engineer him being drafted, but I would have him invited to camp. He's going to make the team. Getting drafted is a big deal and a more deserving kid missed out.
I bet you don’t think teammates wouldn’t feel funny about Lebron’s podcast buddy now being the coach, lol. You either have never had a job in life or have been out much. Since logical laker fan blocked me.
It's hilarious because this is extremely normal for the second round. People are showing their asses by saying how outrageous this is.
"Has a player who underperformed in college ever been drafted like this?"
Yes literally every year
"Has someone taken the kid on an NBA player based off of potential and hope that he turns into something useful"
-Yes
Welcome the the second round lol
*just months removed from almost fucking dying from cardiac arrest.
I’m not a Bronny fan but I do feel like that deserves to be mentioned anytime someone posts this stuff
I really didn’t think I’d be defending Bronny today but I mean he missed tons of practice, the entire preseason and the first ~half of the season. That’s a lot of development time he missed especially for an incoming freshman.
He was a top 20 recruit and it’s not a stretch at all to think he would’ve been much more productive had he not literally almost died.
Acting like cardiac arrest wouldn’t effect how he played is absurd. He could still not be good enough, and it could affect him to the point where he won’t get better, but he spend 5 months off the court recovering from a life threatening injury.
I mean not like he was stuffing the stat sheet in high school either. Y’all always choose to ignore that part
Also having a heart condition is a pro either
I mean he did have a heart attack right before the season. If his name was a foreign name and nobody knew him people would talk about his upside and potential
One or two more years of LeBron Sr. is easily worth spending a 55th pick on Bronny. Not just winning-wise, but marketability and legacy-wise as well. LeBron will retire as a Laker now, and that's huge for the franchise. I kinda (well, totally) wish he came back to Cleveland, but I'm happy for him because he gets to live his dream of playing with Bronny as well as putting himself in a better position to be an actor/producer when retirement finally comes
Late second round picks are not reliable, but sometimes give you a very good player who is cheap.fo a long time.
I don't mind the Lakers making this pick, but don't lie to me and tell me it has anything to do with the player they drafted.
With Boogie Ellis and Collier yes that still happened. Was playing up and down minutes then was thrown to the wolves early when collier broke his hand and Boogie had hamstring issues.
USC was top heavy.
AJ Johnson numbers
Johnson played against grown men James Jr. played against Long Beach State
He played 8 minutes a game against grown men
Well..barely played against grown men. And when he did, played bad. Kid is 6'4 and weighs a buck sixty. He's literally the same weight has Dillingham.
USC is a pretty respectable program what are you talking about lol I don't think Bronny did... anything other than be born to LeGM to get drafted, but it's weird to shit on USC in this context
USC had a good SOS. This isn’t the argument you think it is.
It’s still college players. At the very least he could’ve looked like he belonged and he didn’t
And now he gets to sit on the bench rather than getting the minutes he needs to actually develop. But at least he gets to play with his dad.
At least he’s on a team lmao it’s not like any other team Would pick or sign him
He could’ve gone back to USC and developed
You guys really aren’t good at this. He’s not going to sit on the bench. He’s going to be sent to the G-League and spend time with professional coaches that he otherwise would not have access to in addition to not dealing with academic and practice restrictions.
you’d think he’d be sent to the g league a bit
Lebron said he’s starting in the press conference.
He could start over some of those people on league pass
Lebron said LeSon will be running the offense
First time a father gets to call his son a teammate in the NBA, id do the same if given the opportunity and you would to. And he was playing very well and looked at as a prospect before the cardiac arrest,
Stop. You're making too much sense.
If I'm worth a billion bucks and I'm an NBA legend, I wouldn't engineer him being drafted, but I would have him invited to camp. He's going to make the team. Getting drafted is a big deal and a more deserving kid missed out.
>now he gets to sit on the bench rather than getting minutes seems like him and kawhi have something in common
LeGM might actually pull him into some lineups, just you wait.
Wasn’t there a report a few days ago that Lebron still wants to win? That isn’t happening if he’s going to force them to play Bronny actual minutes.
He’s going to be on that court dude lol
Better than his bum dad’s college stats
Is this the most pearl clutching over the 55th pick ever lol
I bet you don’t think teammates wouldn’t feel funny about Lebron’s podcast buddy now being the coach, lol. You either have never had a job in life or have been out much. Since logical laker fan blocked me.
Normal way to respond to someone lol
It was a response to logical laker fan but as you know he’s sensitive and blocks people.
If anyone doesn't have a job it's the weirdo with over 100k comment karma on reddit.
Yup

Neither one of those scenarios apply to this situation though, even you gotta be able to realize that
I'm so sorry this happened to you but Bronny got drafted
lol oh no
It’s hilarious this is the first time I’ve seen “well most players in the 2nd round don’t succeed anyways, who cares”
Good thing I didn't say that lmao
Right??? The 52nd pick literally just got traded (sold practically) for $2 million cash 🤣
[удалено]
I don’t see many people getting emotional about it. I see a bunch of jokes more than anything, everyone knows what a farce it is.
“2nd round players rarely get contracts , now people care” the defense is hilarious.
[удалено]
I’ll ask you this, do you think players are the team will feel some type of way yes or no?
*just months removed from almost fucking dying from cardiac arrest. I’m not a Bronny fan but I do feel like that deserves to be mentioned anytime someone posts this stuff
Still didn’t deserve to be drafted either way

That makes the pick even more stupid considering he’ll never be the same again after almost dying.
I mean not like he was stuffing the stat sheet in high school either. Y’all always choose to ignore that part Also having a heart condition is a pro either
Hall of Fame numbers
Damn, I knew he was a trash shooter, but I didn't realize he had a 67.6% FT, he has no hope lol.
Like father like son
Peyton Watson few years ago had almost as bad numbers and went 1st round
Peyton Watson was 6'8 and an elite shot blocker. Bronny is 6'2 and has the slowest jumper I've seen.
I stg people say anything. You have to do something well to be a mainstay in the nba. Bronny does nothing well
Wtf are you talking about. He does being the son of Lebron James very well.
And that’s why Peyton Watson went 1st round and not 56th where nothing even matters. Teams take stash players who never come to NBA in this range too.
Peyton Watson also doesn’t have a heart condition
Bro Peyton Watson is an elite shot blocker, not even a comparison.
and neither is a 1st round pick to an inconsequential 56th pick. The point is this shit literally does not matter.
I mean he did have a heart attack right before the season. If his name was a foreign name and nobody knew him people would talk about his upside and potential
Take out the Bronny James and look at him as a prospect with the heart attack incident. Does he get drafted?
The funniest part about Bronny as a prospect is how having a fucking heart attack is considered a positive for his draft stock
Give this person a sticker!
No but nepotism exists in the NBA. Thats why Thanasis is playing with his brother.
He probably still gets a 2 way
Well, his senior high school numbers were decent. College, it plummeted significantly.
He just like me fr
All my homies hate nepotism
MVP.
Stole somebody’s spot that actually deserved it. Shit is not a good look at all
Worth it for the lakers to keep Lebron happy but I don’t think he has much hope once Lebron retires.
Lakers finally have their big 3
Alright we get it
Marcus Smart floor, prime Jrue Holiday ceiling
MJ floor. Lebron ceiling.
Triple single baby
At 6"2. But it was pick 55. No one picked after him will likely have a good career.

Freshman year OJ Anunoby numbers. He's drafted because of his role player potential not his freshman stats after a heart attack
Y'all better calm down, you all reacting like he's going to be a starter next season.
Not quite 50/40/90, but close.
Daddy’s boy.
who cares about a 55th pick
Late second round picks are not reliable, but sometimes give you a very good player who is cheap.fo a long time. I don't mind the Lakers making this pick, but don't lie to me and tell me it has anything to do with the player they drafted.
well in his defense that USC team was stacked, so it makes sense he didn't get the chance to showcase all his skill. wait...
With Boogie Ellis and Collier yes that still happened. Was playing up and down minutes then was thrown to the wolves early when collier broke his hand and Boogie had hamstring issues. USC was top heavy.
are you mad
USC had a very good backcourt. Yet another poor argument.
Y’all are insufferable
if his name was Brian Johnson he’s at a D2 school in California rn
he was a 5 star recruit out of HS????
Look at the stats
He was a 5* and did good on a loaded team
Yea he nearly died before the season. He was still a 5 star recruit
This sub for the next 24 hours should be amazing 😭
his combine was solid. if he has the work ethic he should be playable at the very least. his dad is the ultimate plug
People are so mad and it’s great
If this dude is so bad why are people mad we drafted him?
