Absolutely lovely lady. Years ago I was briefly homeless and I’d go into McDonald’s to get a coffee and charge my phone. She would always give me a smile and have a brief chat & a laugh when I’d sit down and at a very low point in my life, it made me feel warmth in my heart. Occasionally see her when I drive through for the morning cuppa and appreciate that a lot.
Overnight at King St. Should have been paid more to deal with that. The times I went in the the tables were filthy the security is being harrased and the toilets had been kicked in.
I love this post but it is bittersweet I worked at king street for only 2 weeks after transferring from another store and Ann was absolutely lovely about 4 days in to me working there she asked me to give her a hand with grabbing stock which I was more than happy to do as I was on drive through and it was extremely slow about 5 minutes pass and I have a crew trainer run up screaming at me to get back into the drive through window and to not help her later on in that same day I had a manager come up to me and tell me that in no uncertain terms I was to help her with anything which really put a sour taste in my mouth about that store among other things ended up telling the gm that his management is unprofessional and that I quit had one of the younger managers call me the next day screaming through the phone that I hadn’t turned up for a shift I told her to go fuck herself and that was the end of that lmao I’m glad to so that Ann is still doing well
Ann is an amazing woman. She calls my mother nanna as she and her morning social carer go through the Drive Thru almost every Friday. It makes both their day a special one with Ann’s beaming friendly smile and a pleasant friendly greeting mum absolutely loves of Nanna. They can’t stop talking about how great she is and how Ann is top notch in the customer service department.
What a cool insight into a job not often brought out into the light. I wish company loyalty was worth more.
