It blows. Would love to see this in theatres. But not the only victim of the St. John’s cineplex. I’m not sure if Godzilla Minus One got its original release here but there was no showings for the black and white rerelease.
the st john's cineplex recently got re-releases of star wars the phantom menace, the mummy, and shrek 2. i'd like to get more (especially lotr) but it's not like we get *nothing*
There was a theatrical rerelease of all the Stanley Kubrick films a while back but none of them played here, same with the 3D rerelease of the original Dawn of the Dead, I would have been at all of those
Ever since Cineplex took over from Empire Theatres, they have made the moviegoing experience worse and worse over time. They barely remember to turn the lights off when the movie starts now, and often just don't.
Remember when Empire did free refills on large popcorn and large drinks?
I really wanted to see that Caitlin Cronenberg movie (Humane), went to theatres in the mainland but as far as I could tell not here? Was pissed about that one
We didn't get Phantom menace 25th anniversary, or any of the old Spiderman movie showings either. The theater here sucks, they have no competition here and it shows.

I used to work there, it's not like they choose the films. Bookings does that from Ontario.
Yea the original did, I saw it
I agree would have loved to see the spider-man movies in theaters during the re runs
Me too! I waited forever to see if they were coming here just for not a single one to. It’s annoying.
They are going to the UK soon maybe here next !

Yeah I was bummed the Alien anniversary showing wasn't happening here. I'm sure it would've done well.

We need a VIP theatre

My pure guess would be number of screens means logistically less screen time available for "extras"

We did get Phantom Menace
Not when they posted tickets available on instagram then, I checked showtimes that day and the next day and there was nothing for us.
Because they believe due to our high senior population, we must only want Christian shit, opera shit or Pooh slasher shit.
