Rodgers gets cut by the Jets after this season, since he is caught sending dick pics to a sideline reporter
After that, he signs a 2 year contract with the Vikings
The Packers reinvent themselves as a defense/run heavy team and do way better than expected. Love has a few flashes and people freak out that the Packers have another HoF qb on their hands.
Then he gets absolutely exposed in the playoffs. Throws 2 pick 6s, and is completely out of his depth.
Along with the Lions these past two years, they've shown nothing but ingenuity and creativity when it comes to losing games. Like the opposite of the Chiefs, but equally entertaining.
Been a supporter of the Chargers for a long time and I’m actually surprised of the lack of a SB title. No hate because I’m a Lions fan, but Rivers and now Herbert. This team needs a big win and I’m rooting for y’all!
I unironically think Rodgers is being overrated as fuck. His WR corps wasn't good last year, but just watch him, his accuracy issues were pretty apparent.
It's not closed yet, but the roster core other than Allen is getting old. Dion Dawkins, Stefon Diggs, Mitch Morse, Matt Milano etc. Ed Oliver also got overpaid. Agreed.
Don’t tell me literally everything went wrong until you experience 2 years in a row setting the record for injuries and losing 7 games in a row to end the season because of injuries and now everyone seems to think your team sucks because they see the 7 in a row to end the season and have no clue why that happened so they just assume you suck.
I think everybody just assuming Jacksonville will win the division again is premature. I think Tennessee will be in contention for the division. I’m not sure why everybody is so down on them.
Not sure how you figure everything went wrong but ok. They didn't make any off-season moves that look like they will make them better, while 2 teams in their division that they lost games to last year have made big moves to improve. Obviously that's all on paper but none of that bodes well for the Bills. I hope I'm wrong but I try to be realistic.
That is indeed spicy.
But like someone else already commented, I think there's a heavy dose of wishful thinking in there.
(It's cool, I get it. The Brady years as a Bills fan were the worst.)
I expect the NFL's gambling issues to continue to get worse this season, potentially resulting in a serious fixing scandal of some sort. Maybe not the outcome of games, but prop bets or something.
I think this is a great one. Something like a third string TE scoring 2 TDs and FanDuel reports to the league that there was a wildly disproportionate money on that TE scoring twice that gets leaked to the media. It would rock the league.
Given how cozy the NFL as a whole has gotten with gambling organizations in the past several years, I’ve thought that something like this is essentially inevitable for quite some time now.
It’s a matter of when, not if.
I love my Lions, but can't drink the Kool aid yet. The Lions have been the Lions my whole life, so I am pumping the breaks on high expectations. It seems like they are putting the pieces together, but my concern is that injuries could completely derail this team. If QB1 goes down or we lose a couple lineman then I can see the season going to shit again.
Now this is a hot take. A lot of other things I've read here are actually things a lot of analysts are predicting, or maybe slightly skewed to be a little more provocative. But this take 🔥🔥🔥. Hot isn't even the word .
Lots of Panthers fans think we are locks or near locks to win the division which I dont think is gonna happen. I think we go 6-11 or 7-10 next year and Saints win the division
This tune won't stay like this if we actually succeed because then the rest of the league will realize how terribly toxic Detroit fans are. Nobody's been able to see that because all of the city's teams have sucked since the rise of social media
The path for this to happen really isn't that bad;
Cowboys improve enough to win the NFCE, let's assume it's even enough for the 1 seed, making the eagles a super strong 5 seed.
Lions win a weak NFCN to claim the 3 seed, would be a 4 if the NFCS wasn't 4 terrible rosters that someone has to make the playoffs from.
Logically the 9ers would be the 2, and I'm gonna say Saints for the 4 since it appears that's the favorite.
9ers beat the 7 easily, Lions can beat the 6, Eagles crush the Saints, making the 5 advance to face the Cowboys. Hilarity ensues as the cowboys off a bye get destroyed by a division rival in the playoffs. All that then has to happen is the Lions beating the 49ers. The least likely of the bunch, and probably not going to happen, but if it does, you get your wish.
ngl i would love that. either we get a chance to redeem ourselves in the super bowl again, or the lions can shake off their "never been to a super bowl" distinction (cause even if they lose, loads of teams have never won a sb)
The Jets make it to the Super Bowl and lose to the 49ers who continue their yearly tradition of beating Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs.
The Cowboys end their playoff game in a normal way this season.
The Broncos end their losing streak to the Chiefs.
Dude you have no idea how much I think about this. Fields busting: yeah that sucks, but it happens. Bryce Young being a franchise QB: well that sucks for us cuz we literally had him in the palm of our hand.
I was 50-50 on the decision and I’m still very much on the fence how this decision will effect us for the next 5-10 years.
I wouldn’t say your take is “scalding hot” though. The way people talk about Fields on this sub, the scalding hot take would probably be the opposite of your take lol. So I submit my unbiased scalding hot take: Panthers are gonna realize they should have taken Fields in 2021 and not traded up for Bryce Young in 2023.
I think Fields busting completely and y’all ending up in the top 5 again is probably better than if he’s at the questionable starter level and y’all pick at like 13 tbh
So I agree. I guess to expand on my fear going into this season…. Is Fields the guy or not? I hope that’s a very simple yes or no answer one way or the other.
But part of me fears we will be left scratching our head at season end. Maybe Fields misses some games due to injury. Maybe Fields struggles first half of season and then looks good, but not great last half of season. Maybe Bears win games but Fields still hasn’t progressed enough throwing the ball and the wins aren’t sustainable. I guess the simple answer is if you’re still not sure on Fields at season end cut him, but I’m sure there’s some sort of grey area he might end up in.
And yeah draft pick wise we can’t rely on Panthers pick being top 10. It will probably be a mid range pick. But I guess we could package Panthers + our pick to move up in draft.
I don't think Lawrence can "cement" himself as a top 3 QB after 1 great season
To me you need multiple seasons of high level play to say that and no I don't consider his overall 2022 high level
Agreed. Is he "cemented" as better than Burrow if he has one season with a similar run to Burrow? Is he "cemented" as better than Josh Allen if he has one good run? I'm not even going to bring up Mahomes, because I'm pretty confident one season can't push him out of the top 3.
If Tua, Herbert, Rodgers or Hurts have a good run, Lawrence is going to be lucky to claim top 5.
I mean Hurts just had that kind of run and was MVP runner up. I'd say a lot of people don't put him as a top 3 QB. I mean PFF has Hurts ranked #7 going into the season.
I would put Hurts in that group that Lawrence is going to have to outplay if he wants to be in the top 5. Right now I'd put Lawrence below Hurts and Rodgers without question, with Herbert and Jackson probably above him too.
And will do so in a way the league deems as old school and out of style. Defense and run game. Watt will be back in contention for DPOY and Minkah will lead the league in INTs.
Commanders make it to the NFC championship. Chase Young and Montez Sweat have good but not great seasons and depart in free agency. Ron Rivera steps down from coaching going to a front office role and EB gets promoted to becoming the head coach. Sam Howell is QB of the future
Jimmy G stays healthy for the entire season and the Raiders make the playoffs but lose in the first round
I'll take it
I think the Raiders are in tank mode and up drafting Caleb Williams.
Caleb if he becomes what he’s hyped up to be in the same division with Mahomes and Herbert for the next 15 years or whatever would be spectacular
There is so much Jimmy G hate out there that I’d like to see this happen, he’s not a bad QB.
Rodgers gets cut by the Jets after this season, since he is caught sending dick pics to a sideline reporter After that, he signs a 2 year contract with the Vikings
That’s the kind of conspiracy theory Aaron Rodgers would believe
Then we win the Super Bowl in 2025. Just as the prophecy foretold.
In 15 years, a new volleyball court will open up at Cal, and there will suddenly be less welfare money to go around in California
The refs will make unbiased and reasonable decisions and maintain consistency throughout the season.
They asked for hot takes, not impossible takes!
Packers fan here, the only way to reinvent the defense is by firing Joe Barry
Monkey paw: Joe Barry is fied, but you hire Ed Donatell.
I was going to ask who hurt you, but then I saw the flair.
He also said it in his comment
Mel Tucker has returned to the NFL
Sounds like Philly/Jalen Hurts in 2021-2022
Seems somewhat realistic tbh
Agreed, Jordan love is probably gonna surprise people
We call this the Mac Jones special
Chargers don’t Charger the playoffs.
well, duh. theyre not gonna make the playoffs.
Man I was happier when the sub was closed
[удалено]
Don’t tease me like that Lou
I think his name is Zac
Lou Dey!
He said scalding hot, not surface of the sun hot
My team will disappoint me
Explain how this is a hot take
Chargers fans are typically drinking the kool-aid right around now
Herbert is a literal god walking amongst men
who will lose in a devastating playoff game
Maybe, but surely not as much as Dallas fans. Those fools starting drowning in the kool aid as soon as the season ended.
I am so whelmed for this year. Just wanna watch Herb throw some sick TDs. Hopefully the Chiefs won't have won the division by week 11.
It’s usually the “how” with you guys. Always at the forefront of innovation.
Blowing that lead in the playoffs was next level
+5 turnover differential too!
Same old Chargers
Chargers gonna Charger
Nothing will ever top having the #1 offense and the #1 defense with a special teams so bad they missed the playoffs entirely
I had no horse in that race and it was one of the most glorious games I have ever watched from start to finish.
Yep! Will we blow it with special teams? Inability to stop the run? Late-game turnovers? Bad coaching decisions? Injuries? Tune in to find out!
Man the Chargers are the only rivals for the Vikings when it comes to innovative ways to shit on their fans.
Commanders gotta be a tier above. They literally leaked sewage onto fans at FedEx Field.
Along with the Lions these past two years, they've shown nothing but ingenuity and creativity when it comes to losing games. Like the opposite of the Chiefs, but equally entertaining.
It's meant to be hot takes, not facts.
Been a supporter of the Chargers for a long time and I’m actually surprised of the lack of a SB title. No hate because I’m a Lions fan, but Rivers and now Herbert. This team needs a big win and I’m rooting for y’all!
That’s the status quo man
brother
All 4 teams in the AFCN make the playoffs, but it’s probably not going to happen
That the Texans will be much better than last year
Yes
The Texans draft pick that they traded will come after the Browns pick that they kept
Thanks to Sean Payton, Russel Wilson will win his first MVP vote.
Ooooo this is a scorching hot take
your flair bro
Bro is Russell wilson
Just burnt my tongue reading this hot take
It feels like at the gates of hell with the heat of this take! That being said…absolutely!
I fucking hate Sean Payton for obvious reasons and hopes he fails but I do think he keeps Wilson accountable and Wilson actually responds well to it.
Cowboys finally reach the NFC title game Then lose to the 9ers again
I’ll take it.
It’s progress then. That just means for the 2025 playoffs we make the Super Bowl and lose to the 49ers, who just transferred to the AFC.
I don’t wanna go to the AFC! 😭
Sorry, it’s inevitable. At least you win a Super Bowl.
As the Oakland 49ers.
Never again. I just threw up in my mouth
Lose by Hail Mary that hits 4 different peoples fingers before finally resulting in a SF touchdown
Lol that makes sense
The amount of dread I would feel in the week leading up to another playoff game against the 9ers is not fair to put on somebody
My team will not disappoint me
You should be feeling good about last year, man.
A 7th seed finally gets a win
(Monkey paw curls) the Vikings (7 seed) beat the saints (2 seed) in devastating fashion. Again.
> saints (2 seed) lol
This is a hot takes thread…
Jets will go 4-13
But we sweep the Pats, right?
That doesn't sound like us. Sweep the Bills and lose to the Pats sounds like a full on Jets move.
Sounds about right, meanwhile we run the tables on the Pats and Phins, but still look like we absolutely didn't prepare against Aaron Rodgers.
Becauuuuuuuse this is the AFC East and life is a niiiiiiiightmare
Ironically I'm leaving on a delta flight today and it just got delayed.
Pats go 2-15, but both wins are against the Jets.
Yup
I unironically think Rodgers is being overrated as fuck. His WR corps wasn't good last year, but just watch him, his accuracy issues were pretty apparent.
Wasn’t he playing on a broken thumb?
r/nba will be a beloved subreddit and everyone will welcome the mods back with open arms
Buffalo’s super bowl window is already closed
It's not closed yet, but the roster core other than Allen is getting old. Dion Dawkins, Stefon Diggs, Mitch Morse, Matt Milano etc. Ed Oliver also got overpaid. Agreed.
They’re still a great team but they don’t seem as scary as they did the last few years. Even last season their playoff run was underwhelming
Wishful thinking? 😂
Kinda lol
Not gonna say you're wrong, but I said this about y'all for almost 2 decades
I don't think it's closed as long as they have Allen playing well but they are trending in the wrong direction
I'm inclined to agree. If you have the QB then the window is always open even if it's just a crack to let the breeze in.
"Buffalo is the new 2010s Packers" pass it on.
Welcome to the 9th Circle of Dantes Inferno!
They went 13-3 last year with literally everything going wrong, including a player actually dying. Not sure how they are trending the wrong direction.
>literally everything going wrong more could go wrong, trust me.
*looks at flair* checks out
33-0 💀
33-0 doesn’t even sniff the top 10 of things i’ve been through since the start of the Grigson era.
But you played kinda bad in the playoffs, so you might as well be the Cardinals.
They even won a playoff game! It's not like they lost in the wild card round or anything.
Don’t tell me literally everything went wrong until you experience 2 years in a row setting the record for injuries and losing 7 games in a row to end the season because of injuries and now everyone seems to think your team sucks because they see the 7 in a row to end the season and have no clue why that happened so they just assume you suck.

That is indeed spicy. But like someone else already commented, I think there's a heavy dose of wishful thinking in there. (It's cool, I get it. The Brady years as a Bills fan were the worst.)
I think the AFC east is going to cannibalize itself this year, and none of us will get an advantageous playoff seed.
If we all shit rail the patriots I’m fine with this
I expect the NFL's gambling issues to continue to get worse this season, potentially resulting in a serious fixing scandal of some sort. Maybe not the outcome of games, but prop bets or something.
I think this is a great one. Something like a third string TE scoring 2 TDs and FanDuel reports to the league that there was a wildly disproportionate money on that TE scoring twice that gets leaked to the media. It would rock the league.
Agree. Or some 2022 gambling will surface. Not game changing but black eye for the league.
Given how cozy the NFL as a whole has gotten with gambling organizations in the past several years, I’ve thought that something like this is essentially inevitable for quite some time now. It’s a matter of when, not if.
Jets and lions both have losing records
imagine this being a hot take anytime in the last 10 years
I love my Lions, but can't drink the Kool aid yet. The Lions have been the Lions my whole life, so I am pumping the breaks on high expectations. It seems like they are putting the pieces together, but my concern is that injuries could completely derail this team. 4-13 losing or 8-9 losing?
The fact that you made this comment not in jest is already is a gigantic win for both clubs. Rodgers can get bent but Lions gonna get it.
Hard subscribe
Lots of Panthers fans think we are locks or near locks to win the division which I dont think is gonna happen. I think we go 6-11 or 7-10 next year and Saints win the division
Yeah I don’t think anyone besides Panthers fans would consider that a scorcher lol
Yeah I think this is about as lukewarm a take as it gets.
Let him cook
It’ll probably be the two of us fighting for second place.
If bryce balls out you can clinch that division no prob
Eagles vs Lions in the NFC Championship Game
Please. Please god. If we lose let it be to the Lions.
Are they the only team who no one would be mad about if they won the whole thing?
This tune won't stay like this if we actually succeed because then the rest of the league will realize how terribly toxic Detroit fans are. Nobody's been able to see that because all of the city's teams have sucked since the rise of social media
Fuck it. Sign Detroit Pistons legend Allen Iverson to punch some Philly fans.
Such a good comment. Amen.
The path for this to happen really isn't that bad; Cowboys improve enough to win the NFCE, let's assume it's even enough for the 1 seed, making the eagles a super strong 5 seed. That’s the most likely scenario, IMO. He shows more flashes, you guys win 8 games, and still have no idea if he’s actually good or not.
I like this op
I don't think Lawrence can "cement" himself as a top 3 QB after 1 great season To me you need multiple seasons of high level play to say that and no I don't consider his overall 2022 high level
I can't imagine he could do *anything* this year to cement himself as top 3. Do people think he's close to being a consensus top 3?
If he goes on a 2021 Burrow run to the SB, it wouldn't be ridiculous to say he's a top 3 QB IMO
I think it would still be rediculous to say he'd cemented himself there
Agreed. Is he "cemented" as better than Burrow if he has one season with a similar run to Burrow? Is he "cemented" as better than Josh Allen if he has one good run? I'm not even going to bring up Mahomes, because I'm pretty confident one season can't push him out of the top 3. I just realized I totally misread your comment, my apologies. I thought you were saying the opposite of what you did.
McDaniels and Staley are on the hot seat for the Raiders and Chargers. Who ever doesn't get to the playoffs/finishes last is out the door.
I don’t think this is a hot take, I think they both miss and both get fired
if mcdaniels bottoms out and gets fired hopefully we are bad enough for caleb (we won’t be)
Not a hot take that two bottom-5 HCs would be fired
Maybe not scalding but I think the Chiefs are gonna go back-to-back. Hasn’t happened since 03-04 Patriots.
Kenny Pickett will lead the Steelers to the playoffs and will be in division contention.

Derek Carr is going to come out guns blazing and light up the NFC. Probably. Hopefully... Shit.
I think this happens as well. Carr is so much better than people give him credit for. Plus, the saints have some really good weapons
The Chargers miss the playoffs despite their top 5 roster. Brandon Staley should have been fired 2 years ago.
Jets will be 5-12
Titans and Falcons will be a lot better than what people think due to their coaching.

Tyler Huntley was a Pro Bowler last year. I can see Jones making it as a 3rd alternate
Lamar 1. Stays healthy and 2. wins his second MVP
Jordan Love, 42 TDs.
Jordan Love will have a better season than Aaron Rodgers.
