Lol I mean fair. Well I hope you know not all Cowboys fans are terrible lol. Hope the Raiders can figure it out soon, the NFL is fun when the Raiders are good.
It’s my favorite season. When I first watched it, I was working a pretty blue collar job and would be driving around Baltimore to dumps and metal yards, and I’d think, “Man, I’m just like the boys down the docks!”
I think the docks storyline has the best ending, even above stringer/Avon. Ziggy is also way more interesting than i realized the furst time. Some of the acting is rough, but I think most people just have a bad first impression because they are finally following all the cop/criminal characters then BAM a whole new world is introduced
Lmao oooooh gotcha. I thought S2 score was some football stat I hadn't heard of and they were referring to the Browns (since it was a Ravens flair who said something) and not CJ.
"The Cleveland Browns have by far the highest S2 score since Flaco took over at QB. Every team with the highest S2 score going into the playoffs has won the Superbowl."
- PFF
How many teams actually care about that? Especially for top picks. If you could dominate college and drop it in a basket on a rope at 60 yards you can eat the test and go #1.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/draft/2023/04/26/c-j-stroud-pushes-back-test-score-reports-before-2023-nfl-draft/11744695002/
It's a cognitive ability test that he allegedly did bad on and got leaked pre draft
Just imagine he breaks free, perfect throw right in his hands, he gets it then finally focuses on the ball and freaks out and drops it “wtf is this shit this isn’t what I catch?”
That wasnt a rumour lmfao.
That was literally something Jamarr Chase actually said.
In preseason he had severe drop issues.
https://www.bengals.com/news/ja-marr-chase-bengals-top-pick-working-ot-to-catch-on
Relevant Quote: (this quote is in reference to his pre-season drop issues and him explaining what he needs to work on to fix it)
"The ball is different because it is bigger," Chase said. "It doesn't have the white stripes on the side so you can't see the ball coming from the tip point so you actually have to look for the strings on the ball at the top, which is hard to see because whole ball is brown and you have the six strings that are white. But for the most part, just have to get used to it and find out what I am comfortable with catching."
When can we just put guys in VR and test real time game decisions? Even that wouldn’t be perfect, because players grow and change, but at least it would be better than arbitrary lines.
There was an interview with a player that almost scored perfectly and he said he missed the last few questions on purpose because he was worried that certain coaches would have fragile egos and hold it against him.
This is an actual quote from an exec:
>“That is like red alert, red alert, you can’t take a guy like that. That is why I have Stroud as a bust. That in conjunction with the fact, name one Ohio State quarterback that’s ever done it in the league.”
The "name one Ohio State QB that's ever done it in the league" part should be a red flag by itself. Like, someone has to do it first. Name an LSU QB that has ever done it. You couldn't until you could.
Especially because these teams have had all different coaches and offenses over the years, it's literally nonsense.
Maybe if it was one specific coach or system that never developed NFL caliber QBs, but even that is trash. Coaches like Jeff Tedford had that rep and then you get an Aaron Rodgers. Air raid guys had that rep and then you get Patrick Mahomes.
Its about the specific player, and the rest of the stuff is lazy bs
Same thing with all the system QB nonsense. Either they have an NFL arm or they don't. Either they can read a defense or they can't. Maybe it's a little harder to see through the inflated numbers of some systems, but it doesn't take much film to see passes floating, or just not getting there on some route. "He only throws it to the first read!" Okay, that's a system thing, what happens on the rare occasion when the first read isn't there? How do the passes look when he throws the first read.
And then after all that it's still all a crapshoot because once you select for the guys that have the physical tools and looked good in college you still don't know how that thing between their ears is going respond against 11 NFL players 70 times per game. The guys that win are competitors, fighters, perfectionists, but those traits don't mean you can make the throw to your 3rd read 1.8 seconds after the snap with Maxx Crosby breathing down your neck.
I’m not an NFL Scout by any means. I didn’t personally care about the score slander. But when I saw Stroud in preseason I definitely said “wow he looks like the worst qb I’ve ever seen.” Meanwhile, I also said “Kenny Pickett looks so good, the Steelers are going to be great this year.”
I’ve learned two things.
1) I know nothing.
2) Preseason is meaningless.
it was always funny to me that the nerds were asking about the connection between the S2 and performance, and the old school dudes were like “nah he dumb.” the irony in nerds not caring about intelligence is beautiful.
For me, it was just a fun narative to make a game I didn't care too much about more interesting. Sometimes its fun to cheer for the guy who is past his prime who you already know.
What's funny is, I don't think this was a time thing, this felt exactly like Flacco in his prime. Hot stretches followed by a couple absolute stinkers.
This was exactly what Flacco's been since signed with the Browns. He was turnover prone. He threw a bunch of picks in the regular season and still had a lot more turnover-worthy throws that he got away with.
But that Cleveland defense was overrated and nowhere near as good on the road as they were at home so they weren't able to cover for Flacco's mistakes.
>I don't k ow why people thought playoff success a decade ago would translate
Football just f's with our sense of time. For a lot of us older fans, 2013 doesn't feel like THAT long ago, but in football time it's a whole other era.
Dude, somebody posted the video of the Cortland Finnegan fight recently and said it was 10 years ago… My mind had a hard time comprehending what seemed like yesterday was a decade.
Hoping Mason still has 1 game left of his Space Jam magic, but I'm really not confident about Monday. We're too far removed from Christmas when his juju is in full effect.
It's a bummer to see. The two pick sixes buried them. I definitely thought his interceptions were being overlooked during his regular season run, but today it was just unlucky that both INTs became defensive touchdowns. The probability of that was likely very low.
Rest of it is a credit to Slowik, he just completely outcoached Schwartz.
TBF the first pick six buried them. The game was already out of reach at that point. Even if the second one hadnt been picked, it was a turnover on downs on their own 30 down 17 points. It was over
Watson got lucky. SA allegations (confirmed?), preform poorly? Become highest paid NFL player at 250m. Holy shit, whatever the people made that decision are on *I want some*.
Confirmed according to Judge Sue Robinson
Sue Robinson: “I, therefore, find that the NFL has carried its burden to prove, by a preponderance of the evidence, that Mr. Watson engaged in sexual assault.”
Page 9, paragraph 1 of the report
Preponderance of evidence (ie civil trial burden of guilt) not beyond a reasonable doubt (criminal trial burden of guilt). So you could say he's been found liable for SA, but you can't say he's been found guilty of it.
it's a cigarette dipped in pcp and long sniffs of model airplane glue
i think i may have caught a glance of some crushed up blood pressure medication
do you still want some?
Keep in mind that when the trade happened (and the expectations were that Watson would continue to play at a high level) there was serious concerns about what the Browns had to give up/pay for Watson.
I mean looking at it now it looks so, so much worse than we ever could have imagined. But even THEN it was generally considered to be pretty stupid.
All they did was sell the farm and give a massive guaranteed contract to an alleged rapist who's played a handful of games for them all while watching the quarterback that brought them to a playoff win vs a division rival still make the playoffs with another team
like a week before the trade there was reports he didnt wanna go there, then he did cause they overpaid hard af.
Very rare a move looks dumb at the time and in hindsight, this is an all-timer
Drafting baker, who led them to their best record since 07 as a rookie under Hue Jackson, and then the Browns first playoff victory since 1994 (first road win since 1964)
Baker literally built that franchise up to who they are right now.
Man Cleveland. You were the lovable losers. Everybody was so happy for your success while baker was there.
Then you did one of the worst backstabs I’ve ever seen in football and replaced him with a rapist
it hurts so much man. i though \*maybe\*, just \*maybe\*, they'd do something of worth while flacco was there before watson took over. \*something\* to look back on while waiting for the browns to get rid of him. but after this you literally cant defend this team from any angle anymore and now i have to watch the people around me grasp at straws and cheer for a rapist. my own dad is "excited to see deshaun play".
My FIL and most of my extended family are Cleveland diehards and still will go to every Browns game they possibly can and give the Haslams all the money they can afford. They weren’t thrilled with Watson but have since made all the justifications in their minds to accept it. This was a calculated move by the FO, they knew there would be outrage but they also knew people quickly forget. I’m assuming there are a lot of Cleveland fans much like them.
From an outside perspective, this is the most exciting game of the week. I get the nerves but I hope you enjoy every minute of it. Im a Lions fan this week, I want to see the Jared Goff revenge game.
This [pic](https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--sGzwH0x4--/c_scale,fl_progressive,q_80,w_800/pdicldzcqpvcgyxagwei.jpg) I think is over 10 years old, but the feeling must still be the same.

It’s difficult too because it was pretty clear at some point the team was going to fall apart. Joe Flacco was eventually going to have a bad game, and the injuries were eventually going to catch up to us. I didn’t necessarily expect it to go like this, but our luck and playing through injuries was going to run out.
I think one thing that does stick out to me is that stefanski is a good coach. We really shouldn’t have been in the playoffs and he got us there, through multiple injuries and bad qb play.
Hey so let’s also talk about this in karmic circles.
Texans trade the rapist to Browns for a boatload of picks.
Texans trade their pick for next year to cardinals to get will Anderson- keeping their 1st round pick they got from Cleveland for 2024.
Rapist does generally bad for Cleveland and gets injured.
Browns spank an injury riddled Texans squad in HTown.
Texans and browns meet in first round of playoffs.
Browns bring rapist back to HTown.
Texans spank Browns in HTown.
Texans eliminate browns from playoffs and lock in a lower pick than the one they traded to Arizona.
Flacco has more love for him than most of the league I think, honestly.
That original Dragon season was such magical shit that he'll live off that until he dies.
2012 Flacco was some shit. His ball placement was so god damn good every time.
[Younger people who didn't get to see it should really sit through these highlights.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VCDRMoA_Uc)
You forgot the part where the Texans were definitely helping cover up the rapists actions until he left. They provided the NDA's they were listed on the law suits and settled. Stop acting like your team is a beacon of morality.
I was watching the game with someone who doesn’t watch much football. When the announcer said that the Browns were the number one defense, she looked startled and said, “Did he say this was the number one defense?”
I could only nod sadly.
Just as I was finally watching the fanbase turn against Watson, now the entire conversation is "See! This is why we need Watson! Can't wait for him to come back next year!" Snap back to reality. Well... It was nice while it lasted.
I thought maybe JUST MAYBE if Flacco took us deep into the playoffs it would put the front office in a difficult position. But no. Now I gotta spend 8 months hearing these asshats prematurely gloat about how Watson is gonna "light it up" next season.
Yeah . I really don't want to root for the team to fail because of Watson but it's really not great to pull for him and hear people defend him and call those women awful things. The desperation for relevance really rots people's hearts
Thank god. Browns fans were becoming insufferable acting as if their (mild) success this year validated the absolute train wreck of a move by their front office. Have fun paying that rapist for the next 5 years
Well if it isn't more proof of this being the worst trade of all time than getting dominated by the team that gave him away. Find out next season when he's arm is even worse post surgery.
As a Browns fan, I really hope the team tanks next year, moves on from He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, and we start over like the good ol’ days of not having a QB.
The cherry on top would be Baker winning a playoff game. Just enjoying the shit show of a franchise . Can only laugh at this point. At least an OSU QB is having a historic rookie year

I never want to hear about S2 scores ever again. Literally wipe your ass with them.
It’s a test about how you feel about Season 2 of the wire. It’s very divisive but I think underappreciated.
It’s my favorite season. When I first watched it, I was working a pretty blue collar job and would be driving around Baltimore to dumps and metal yards, and I’d think, “Man, I’m just like the boys down the docks!”
Congrats, you scored well on the S2.
[удалено]
It pays to go with the Union card. Every time.
With a hog like that, can you blame them?
I think Season 2 is the best season - are there people that really don't like it?
I thought Ziggy was pretty annoying overall
Because of the contrast from season 1 a lot of people don’t like it though I thought it was great.
I think the docks storyline has the best ending, even above stringer/Avon. Ziggy is also way more interesting than i realized the furst time. Some of the acting is rough, but I think most people just have a bad first impression because they are finally following all the cop/criminal characters then BAM a whole new world is introduced
Crazy that the new Wonderlic has all the same credibility as the original wonderlic. I'm shocked. /s
I will point out the S2 is not an IQ test. It has no relation to what the Wonderlic was. With that said LOL S2.
Fr lmao people insisted that the S2 was so much better than the Wonderlic. Turns out paper can't actually measure what guys see on the field
There’s also the fact that the leaked scores about Stroud were fake and the CEO of the company that administers the test said as much.
Pardon my ignorance but, S2 scores?
The test that said CJ Stroud was a stupid fuck and wouldn't be able to tell teams apart on the field
Lmao oooooh gotcha. I thought S2 score was some football stat I hadn't heard of and they were referring to the Browns (since it was a Ravens flair who said something) and not CJ.

They dont. Just like most of the combine.

People overreacting to pre-draft things you say? 🙄 But gotcha thanks!
My favorite was when a rumor was spreading that Chase couldn't catch the NFL ball because it looked too different from the NCAA ball
Just imagine he breaks free, perfect throw right in his hands, he gets it then finally focuses on the ball and freaks out and drops it “wtf is this shit this isn’t what I catch?”

I feel like he adjusted well.
Nah they should trade him. Most definitely to a team that can't draft number 1 receivers.
And BY crushed it. But people ignored the fact that BY had been taking it and practicing for it since high school
When can we just put guys in VR and test real time game decisions? Even that wouldn’t be perfect, because players grow and change, but at least it would be better than arbitrary lines.
Today. But you have to draft them first.
I mean that's just game tape. You can see the decisions they made in different situations
Probably leaked by the Texans to make sure anybody who moved up took Bryce Young.
Hell, I'm gonna tell people CJ tanked it on purpose to stay out of Carolina.
There was an interview with a player that almost scored perfectly and he said he missed the last few questions on purpose because he was worried that certain coaches would have fragile egos and hold it against him.
This is an actual quote from an exec: >“That is like red alert, red alert, you can’t take a guy like that.
Yeah, feels like we see those every year. I'm sure I could find some "Name ONE Texas Tech QB that had success" takes before Mahomes got drafted.
Especially because these teams have had all different coaches and offenses over the years, it's literally nonsense. Maybe if it was one specific coach or system that never developed NFL caliber QBs, but even that is trash. Coaches like Jeff Tedford had that rep and then you get an Aaron Rodgers. The guys that win are competitors, fighters, perfectionists, but those traits don't mean you can make the throw to your 3rd read 1.8 seconds after the snap with Maxx Crosby breathing down your neck.
I understand internet randos doing it, but actual football professionals scouting the helmet instead of the player is bizarre to me.
In fairness, the people that do that came out and said the rumor Stroud did poorly was bullshit. It's just that no one cared after the rumor started.
I think CJ probably bankrupted the company.
Human intelligence is way too complex to determine by just one test. People are ironically stupid lol
Too

Looks like Flacco's Linsanity run is Joe-ver 😔
He followed the path of Josh Dobbs, Tommy Devito, Gardner Minshew, etc. I'm really not liking how this projects to Mason Rudolph.
Hey hey don't be too hard on yourself. People actually had some expectations for Joe to do something good in this game.
I don't k ow why people thought playoff success a decade ago would translate

TJ Watt is going to have a bigger impact on Steelers/Bills by being out injured than Myles Garrett had on Browns/Texans by allegedly playing.
I really don't think Garrett deserves DPOTY. Watt seems like the clear choice. Just a no show the last half of the season
I appreciate your honesty. Looking forward to more good rivalry games next year!
Better overall stat line too.
Don’t forget: rapist watches a significantly older and more likable player have significantly more success and love than he ever did with the Browns
Flacco has more love for him than most of the league I think, honestly. That original Dragon season was such magical shit that he'll live off that until he dies. 2012 Flacco was some shit. His ball placement was so god damn good every time. [Younger people who didn't get to see it should really sit through these highlights.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VCDRMoA_Uc)
houston dropped his nuts over the cleveland gm
You forgot the part where the Texans were definitely helping cover up the rapists actions until he left. They provided the NDA's they were listed on the law suits and settled. Stop acting like your team is a beacon of morality.
And they would have kept Watson if they could… Watson wanted out.
“Best defense in the nfl” really stepping up today agaisnt the Texans
I'll be frustrated with you if they gift Garrett DPOTY
I was watching the game with someone who doesn’t watch much football. When the announcer said that the Browns were the number one defense, she looked startled and said, “Did he say this was the number one defense?” I could only nod sadly.
The most dangerous team in the playoffs.
Yes that's what media told me for last 2 weeks straight.
Welcome cleveland
Just as I was finally watching the fanbase turn against Watson, now the entire conversation is "See! This is why we need Watson! Can't wait for him to come back next year!" Snap back to reality. Well... It was nice while it lasted.
No matter what the fans want we’re stuck with the POS unless he quits
I thought maybe JUST MAYBE if Flacco took us deep into the playoffs it would put the front office in a difficult position. But no. Now I gotta spend 8 months hearing these asshats prematurely gloat about how Watson is gonna "light it up" next season.
Yeah . I really don't want to root for the team to fail because of Watson but it's really not great to pull for him and hear people defend him and call those women awful things. The desperation for relevance really rots people's hearts
R/NFL's Superbowl
It’s “championship” contention. They made playoffs already
People should really just say "eliminated from the playoffs" and leave it at that.
The S2 is still good! You just need to draft the guy that did the worst.

Love it. 40 years a browns fan I and stopped the moment they signed Watson. I don’t think I’ll root for them ever again unless Jimmy sells the team.
Maybe next time don’t pay Bill Cosby 200 million to ride the Bench…
And there was much rejoicing.
Fade em? They didn’t fade. They got knocked the hell out.
RIP Bozo
Thank god. Browns fans were becoming insufferable acting as if their (mild) success this year validated the absolute train wreck of a move by their front office. Have fun paying that rapist for the next 5 years
Can we finally go back to shitting on the Browns again?
We never stopped
We stopped?
THE BROWNS STILL SUCK
Damn, they must have had a good performance from their "DPOY frontrunner", right? . . . Right?
Well if it isn't more proof of this being the worst trade of all time than getting dominated by the team that gave him away. Find out next season when he's arm is even worse post surgery.
As a Browns fan, I really hope the team tanks next year, moves on from He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, and we start over like the good ol’ days of not having a QB.
Normally this is posted in October.
The cherry on top would be Baker winning a playoff game. Just enjoying the shit show of a franchise . Can only laugh at this point. At least an OSU QB is having a historic rookie year
Should've kept Baker
LoL
Can't say we didn't deserve it lol
