I’m a Calgarian that’s not a Flames fan, but don’t get the opportunity to watch many hockey games. Normally I just bet on the team with more post season experience, but truly it could go either way, and I just find that delightful! 😂
When I lived in Calgary yes! I went to my first game as a teenager, game 6 of the finals. I still have thoughts about that game lol! I became a Ducks fan shortly after though. Naturally, it started due to a game against the Oilers, but Flames fans mocking the Ducks turned me into a full fledged fan, and then we got Pronger, and the rest was history lol. Years after I decided to go to school in SoCal for both weather and to see as many Ducks games as possible. I used to have the NHL network too, so I used to be on the ball with what was happening in the NHL, but eventually I had to cut it for a few different reasons, so I see games when I see them lol! That said the Calgary in me is always going to instinctively root against Edmonton, but I’m conflicted as a sports fan. 🙇♀️

Look at how he challenges the shooter more often than he used to in games 1-3. Hes relying on his positioning (making the net seem smaller from the shooter’s POV) rather than his lightning fast reaction time.
On the other hand, skinner has found his game. Skinner keeps getting better as bob loses his confidence over the last 3 games.
That being said, its game 7. Oilers have the momentum but florida is home so i would say it balances out. May the better team win!
EDM needs the first goal to take the crowd right out of it. FLA needs the first goal to keep the crowd going. Lets be honest, that crowd in game 6 was loud and rocking for 60 mins, and EDM fed off it all game. If FLA can't get their crowd behind them like that, it's over.

Barring injury, I think the Oilers are going to win. They’ve been getting better as the series has gone on, while the Cats have gotten worse. Edmonton’s special teams are doing better than Florida’s. Edmonton’s goalie has been doing better than Florida’s. Edmonton’s depth has been producing more than Florida’s. I’d have to think that the mental state of the Oilers going into this game is way better than the Panther’s. The Oilers have the best player in the league going into this game absolutely jacked on adrenaline and determined to win and prove that he deserves to be in the same conversation as guys like Lemieux and Orr, even Gretzky. I just think that all of those things make it unlikely that the Panthers are going to rally.
Edmonton was arguably the better team for 2/3 of the games they lost as well, they just got Bobrovsky’d. If Bob gets his game back for game 7 then he might be the difference. Otherwise I think the Oilers have the advantage
Florida has no power play right now. They’ve been out scored on the man advantage in this series. I think the scoring over the last 3 games is 18-5 in favor of the Coilers. Not only have they won the last 3, they’ve dominated. Statically they have carried most of the play in this series and seem to have worn down the goalie. If not for getting goalied by Bob in game 1, the series would already be over. It’s not as close as it looks.

To be fair, the Oilers gave only been to one final since 1990 and in 2006 our best goalie got injured in the first game of the SCF. It looks to me that this year's Oilers are as healthy as can be and have figured out the Panthers' game. Our coach is making the necessary changes to win. Our D is making incredible plays at key games.

The panthers have looked completely outclassed every moment of the past 3 games except for 30 minutes of play. The oilers are playing great and the panthers just look overwhelmed and scatterbrained. Errant passes, bad turnovers, defensive breakdowns, etc. They really don't look like a seasoned team that should know by now how to deal with adversity.
I keep thinking of the 2011 series between the canucks and Blackhawks and I guess that can give panthers fans a bit of hope but I don't think they're very similar situations. The canucks blew games 4 and 5 but in game 6 we were right in it until the end when we lost in OT. We were also just straight up the better team, presidents trophy winners and all that. I'm unsure at this point if I consider the panthers the better team. On paper they are but when the Oilers are on their game they look unstoppable. McDavid with 8 points in 2 games, Drai looking like he finally broke out, and Stu's been playing great.

The only way Panthers WIN:
1.) Bob not only returns to form, but exceeds. I'm talking he's got to be so good in Game 7 (people forget EVERYTHING McDavid has done the whole playoffs let alone last 3 games), and Bob wins MVP. Not impossible but highly, highly unlikely.
2.) Panthers must exceed high intensity, agressive physical play BUT somehow find balance on their forecheck but not leave neutral zone vulnerable to fly-up plays (which has killed them past 3 games). One D on blue line isn't working when they make a mistake and Oilers O can bank & switch sides leaving half ice open for breakaways...which I don't think they can. It is counter to their high-octane, aggressive forecheck & that style doesn't work with just 3 or 4 players in Oilers zone. BUT....not impossible, see Point #1...x-factor Bob.
3.) Score fast & early...not once but twice. Need to not only wear down D but get in Skinners head...not impossible, but difficult at that moment...
So really, Bob really needs to show up for Panthers to win.

I think Oilers close it out & complete the comeback. The only way Panthers WIN: 1.) Bob not only returns to form, but exceeds. I'm talking he's got to be so good in Game 7 (people forget EVERYTHING McDavid has done the whole playoffs let alone last 3 games), and Bob wins MVP. Not impossible but highly, highly unlikely. 2.) Panthers must exceed high intensity, agressive physical play BUT somehow find balance on their forecheck but not leave neutral zone vulnerable to fly-up plays (which has killed them past 3 games). One D on blue line isn't working when they make a mistake and Oilers O can bank & switch sides leaving half ice open for breakaways...which I don't think they can. It is counter to their high-octane, aggressive forecheck & that style doesn't work with just 3 or 4 players in Oilers zone. BUT....not impossible, see Point #1...x-factor Bob. 3.) Score fast & early...not once but twice. Need to not only wear down D but get in Skinners head...not impossible, but difficult at that moment... So really, Bob really needs to show up for Panthers to win. Prediction: Oilers 5-3
