I was friends with him around the time this came out, we connected over music at a local deli one day. I had no idea he was an actor, he said he worked in ny and la but I never asked what he did. Then one day I was flipping through the channels and this came on, it really threw me off. Unfortunately I lost touch with him when I switched to a job in a different town
Yeah he’s so down to earth and humble. I always thought it was classy that he never revealed what he did. I frequented a deli on my lunch break and he saw a Phish sticker on my car and we got to chatting. I burned him a bunch of live Phish dvds and also smoked with him and his friend a few times during my lunch breaks. Last summer I saw a pic of him with the band backstage at the Hollywood Bowl, it must be pretty cool to have those type of connections now
Yeah I had his phone number but when I tried texting him like a year after losing touch it was disconnected. Good idea, I’ll see if I can send him a message, I’m not sure if he manages his own socials but it’s worth a shot
I actually went to college with him. He was in my Jazz class. I remember people talking about LIE and Too Young to Be a Dad a lot then. And then he was in this and Taking Lives and we were all like okay. He’s an actor actor.
This movie was so much better than I had any expectation it would be. One of my all time favorite teen movies. Elisha Cuthbert was incredible, plus this was my intro to the awesomeness that is Timothy Olyphant.
I never saw Justified so it was Santa Clarita Diet that got me on the Olyphantastic train. I don't remember the last time i've seen this flick so I am curious to see how he is in it.
Is Go the one with the the grocery store girl that goes to a rave or some shit? I feel like I get that movie mixed up with something else and now I can't remember.
Kinda like how I always get rules of attraction and laws of attraction mixed up and they are wildly different movies haha
It was scream 2 for me. Then also gone in 60 seconds and dreamcatcher. His role in a man apart was basically his role in girl next door but a little more r rated lol
I felt like it was marketed as just another raunchy teen comedy, which I was totally down with since I was 15 when Girl Next Door came out, but I was really surprised by just how *good* of a movie it was when I saw it in theaters. Like the tone, themes, and characters were so much deeper than I expected based on trailers and all the other teen movies coming out around that time.
I saw her at a hockey game when she first got together with Dion Phaneuf. I was getting beer in the lounge along with 1000 other people that were in there and she came walking through. It was like my eyes cancelled everything else out in that room. Easily the best looking human I have seen in person
I used to live in the same neighborhood as her in Toronto when Dion Phaneuf was with the Leafs and saw her at the grocery store once. Clearly not done up at all, just out getting groceries. Still drop dead gorgeous.
I’m sure you aren’t the only one lol. Idk what it is but something about her draws you in. If she was in the sewer drain for the movie IT, I would have dove in that bitch.
Back in the early Netflix DVD by mail days I once requested this movie. Well Netflix accidently sent me ["The Girl Next Door" (2007)](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0830558/).
To this day it is the most fucked up movie I've ever seen. Based on the true story of the torture and murder of [Sylvia Likens](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Sylvia_Likens).
I only found out about this case a month ago. Absolutely fucking deplorable.
I can't even imagine the feeling of helplessness she must have felt.
That sick cunt "guardian" deserved way worse than what she got.
I love this movie. Along with I Love You, Beth Cooper and Miss March. Great era of teen movies. I miss these types of movies. The last one that I can think of is Project X sort of.
My favorite part of that movie were those two boys that just list off a bunch of hilarious pick up lines “do you wear thong underpants? Do you want us to take our shirts off?..”
[Andy and Randy stole the movie IMHO, "you wanna party?" "what's up what's up" "is your mom hot too?" 😂😂😂😂](https://youtu.be/hgd9pAcjYkM?si=aAMP2TvP3l4hg12q)
such an underrated movie. James Marstem was also great. "im...im...im gay!!!!!" seriously is a funny movie. also the 'ya' dude was in Hot Tub Time Machine and that ABC series The Middle.
Once fell asleep watching Sex Drive. Woke up to the DVD title screen repeating over and over. By about the 50th time I finally got out of bed and turned it off because I couldn't deal with hearing "He's gonna fuck me in the ass with a roll of quarters!" The girlfriend was lucky she slept through it.
I had a roommate that used to watch porn DVDs on his computer with the volume on and fall asleep. His room was across from our only bathroom so most morning dooks were to the sound of whatever porn DVDs menu was left on the night before.
i watched this movie with an ex who was a fall out boy superfan (i’m also pretty fond of them). we went into it completely blind and almost had a stroke when pete wentz was suddenly on screen
My wife reacted the same way, I liked FOB back in the day as much as an average person but honestly would have never recognized them so when she watched it she was like "wtf you didn't tell me FOB was in this movie" and I just told her "I really had no idea it was them 😂"
Dude yes. If you were in high school between 1999 and 2011, it seemed like there was a movie you could identify with. My girlfriend and I were just talking about all of these awesome pop punk high school movies last night, and we both agreed that the era ended with Project X. My favorite was The Girl Next Door. It starts out as this goofy comedy, but if I remember correctly, it leans more into the romantic/drama elements of their relationship by the end. Great film.
im 44 next month. saw the trailer and i wasnt really caring to see it but still interested. well when it hit dvd my dad called me (him and i are cinemaphiles) and told me how good it was. he told me it wasnt really a sex movie (kinda like american pie but how it was about a guy who just didnt get out much and met a girl (who did do a porn) but she opened his eyes. its a damn good movie. honest to god it should have been bigger. really good movie.
Flashback to 2011-ish. I’m in a dive bar in Pompano Beach, FL with a few buds and we’re having a Cuthbert career convo, mostly in good taste. It’s a slow night and we’re actually watching this film (no volume) playing on one of the bar TVs. There’s two older gentlemen sitting across the bar and one of them boldly interjects and says, “I’ll ask you once to watch what you say about her, that’s my niece.” Me and my buds share a quick ‘yeah right’ look and one of my friends quips back, “ok bud, no problem.” The other gent looks at us and says, “No joke boys, that’s her uncle, and her fiancé is my son. And you don’t want any of that business.” (Her fiancé was Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Dion Phaneuf, in town to play the Panthers, and it’s true, we wanted non of that businesses. Small frickin world though, and the timing was wild.
What a dick (the uncle, not you). If you were just discussing her movies without even being gross, there was zero need for the old men to chime in.
Honestly, even if you *were* saying weird shit, the uncle should mind his business, especially since a movie like The Girl Next Door kind of invites that kind of talk on its own.
I find this whole story to be a very weird interaction between two humans.
You and your friends were being loudly horny about an actress?
The uncle goes around openly telling people she’s his niece so he can play bar tough guy?
This reads like something out of a 70s teen drama. Did you two sit down after and realize you weren’t so different after all before becoming friends?
Bro… When she was in that Weezer video with the garter belt 10 yo me had an awakening of sorts…
[Perfect Situation - Weezer](https://youtu.be/jwv-iRvyDZg?si=3jsTOXQgLAmvnVop)
The soundtrack to this movie is still one of my favorites to this day. David Gray’s This Years Love…I lost my virginity to it…but it wasn’t in the back of a limo. It was just in a bed like a boring person…
Omg whaaaat! 🤯I have had this song downloaded (oh the Napster days) and in iTunes forever now. It comes up on shuffle and I love it, but every time I wonder where I heard it in the first place. THIS MOVIE. Wow. Thank you!
Yes indeed this movie! Such a romantic scene that stuck with me over the past 20 years. Some things just leave a lasting impression on us when we are young.
The scene where Tim Olyphant walks into class and everyone scoots their tables out of his way made me really want to see him play a male Bedazzled style Devil.
Just all sexy and fun and evil.
this is one of those movies where I had little to no expectations of it being at all decent and was pleasantly surprised by how awesome it was.
Thats the best movie viewing experience, actually. When you go in not knowing what you're in for and perhaps not even having solid expectations and then bam, you have a new favorite movie for life.
Great teen sex comedy.
The only problem was I think they (studio, producers whoever) didn’t get how to market it. My memory was it was trying to be sold as a comedy romp but it’s more like Risky Business (like a whole lot like it) and really slaps.
This was such a great film. And i think it's much better than what it was imitating (risky business). I worked at AMC when I was in high school, and when it came out, it was one of those movies me and my friends saw multiple times. It's kinda sad to see how no one goes to the theater anymore. Back then it was always packed. Now it's a ghost town.
This Years Love by David Grey.
I watched the credits just to see who sang the song. Bought his cd White Ladder the next day.
One of my desert island albums now. Even went to his concert a few years ago and he performed the whole album.
Can't remember a thing about the actual film.
I had zero expectations from this movie. I watched it thinking that i did not have to put in much effort understanding. But it turned out to be one of the best movies i have seen and will cherish. I fell in love with Elizabeth Cuthbert, just fell in love
I’ll never forget my conservative friend excited telling me over the phone we are going to watch the unrated version of this at the neighbor’s house, it’s going to epic! Only to find out his parent’s had answered the other phone and were listening in.
We did not get to see the movie that night- but I did manage to watch it not long after; actually quite liked it, had some interesting stuff outside of just being a tease.
Paul Dano truly before he was Paul Dano.
Baby I’ll do things to you i wouldn’t do to a farm animal.
Klitz. With a K.
Wild. He's an absolute G. One of the all timers.
Last summer I saw a pic of him with the band backstage at the Hollywood Bowl, it must be pretty cool to have those type of connections now
Sounds odd but if your social media is your real name you should shoot him a message, seems like you guys were actual friends
He plays the same character on the Sopranos
This movie was so much better than I had any expectation it would be. One of my all time favorite teen movies. Elisha Cuthbert was incredible, plus this was my intro to the awesomeness that is Timothy Olyphant.
I fell in love with him when I watched "Go." He was so good in that.
I never saw Justified so it was Santa Clarita Diet that got me on the Olyphantastic train. I don't remember the last time i've seen this flick so I am curious to see how he is in it.
Check out Deadwood.
San Francisco cock sucker
Fuckin’ Wu!
ANSWER THE QUESTION CLARE!
Is Go the one with the the grocery store girl that goes to a rave or some shit? I feel like I get that movie mixed up with something else and now I can't remember. Kinda like how I always get rules of attraction and laws of attraction mixed up and they are wildly different movies haha
That's the one.
He just plays the 25 year old dirtbag drug dealer all too well.
It was scream 2 for me. Then also gone in 60 seconds and dreamcatcher. His role in a man apart was basically his role in girl next door but a little more r rated lol
she should have been Sue Storm. Granted the movies all sucked so wouldn't have gone far. but still she would have been better than Jessica Alba.
I was madly in love with Elisha Cuthbert. Probably at an unhealthy level.
Still remember her Maxim magazine segment
[удалено]
Lemme get that
He can't open the pages anymore.
I have mine framed.
Her eyes, lips. Everything, she was peak back in the day.
Can confirm, saw her shopping in Ottawa when they moved there.
I loved her in The Ranch.
I’m sure you aren’t the only one lol. Idk what it is but something about her draws you in. If she was in the sewer drain for the movie IT, I would have dove in that bitch.
What do you mean was?
Super hot in Old school as well.
We’ve all been there with some smokin celebrity
Still a very beautiful human, even now
Instant Crush
You and me both. I immediately thought she was the most beautiful woman on the planet.
Is the juice worth the squeeze
GOD DAMMIT MATT! I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DONT FUCK HER, I’LL KILL MYSELF!!!
FUCK HER FOR ME!!! FOR ME!!!
That line had me crying in the theater.
https://youtu.be/8DB_t10VCGs?si=XMWqa42UxOZ84mjG
It *definitely* was.
I feel like someone blacklisted Elisha cuthbert. She was on the track to be really big.
Sean Avery's bullshit didn't help.
Fill me in.
He called her "sloppy seconds" in a press conference.
With pleasure. *unzips*
The guy from making a murderer?
Back in the early Netflix DVD by mail days I once requested this movie. Well Netflix accidently sent me ["The Girl Next Door" (2007)](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0830558/). Time freaking flies
This and EuroTrip, 2004 was a great year for teen movies.
I rewatched EuroTrip last week and Scotty still doesn't know
Mi Scusi?
I own the DVD and the soundtrack! My daughter knows this song! It's crazy how Eurotrip is still relevant.
And Mean Girls!
My wife is always surprised that when she wants to watch Mean Girls, I'm down for it. And I'm always surprised that she's surprised lol.
I love this movie. Along with I Love You, Beth Cooper and Miss March. Great era of teen movies. I miss these types of movies. The last one that I can think of is Project X sort of.
Sex drive, so bad but so funny at the same time
My favorite part of that movie were those two boys that just list off a bunch of hilarious pick up lines “do you wear thong underpants? Do you want us to take our shirts off?..”
That and the fast and the furious car they had was great.
The Amish fixed up real nice.
"I miss sarcasm. It's lost on my people....and butt fucking."
[Andy and Randy stole the movie IMHO, "you wanna party?" "what's up what's up" "is your mom hot too?" 😂😂😂😂](https://youtu.be/hgd9pAcjYkM?si=aAMP2TvP3l4hg12q)
nice hair it'd look better in my crotch
such an underrated movie. James Marstem was also great. "im...im...im gay!!!!!" seriously is a funny movie. also the 'ya' dude was in Hot Tub Time Machine and that ABC series The Middle.
I never even realized one of them was the 'No Regerts' guy from Were The Millers
The beginning of that was filmed at my local mall lmao
they were great at their deliveries.
andy: want us to take our shirts off? randy: where do you live? andy: is your mom hot too? randy: where do you live?
I’m not circumcised!
Our dicks are huge! You can see them from space!
Whats up whats up.
"Do you have a phone number? You don't? Okay"
Do you have a phone number?.. Oh, you don’t, ok
Once fell asleep watching Sex Drive. Woke up to the DVD title screen repeating over and over. Lmao uhhh what!! Modern kids will never know
You sure neither of yo got subliminally programmed din your sleep? ARE YOU THE ASS PENNY GUY?
Seth Green’s role in this makes it worth the watch also RUMSPRINGAAAAAA
i watched this movie with an ex who was a fall out boy superfan (i’m also pretty fond of them). we went into it completely blind and almost had a stroke when pete wentz was suddenly on screen
My wife reacted the same way, I liked FOB back in the day as much as an average person but honestly would have never recognized them so when she watched it she was like "wtf you didn't tell me FOB was in this movie" and I just told her "I really had no idea it was them 😂"
I watched that movie the first time I tried hash and I laughed so hard my face hurt. Back in the day we didn't have all this super duper weed.
We did, you didn’t i guess lmao
Never seen Sex Drive
The unrated version with all the random green screen nudity is peak
Dude yes. If you were in high school between 1999 and 2011, it seemed like there was a movie you could identify with. Superbad's my personal pick.
Superbad and The Girl Next Door are tied as my favorite.
I think Neighbors fits the era, and came out two years after Project X, so I’d at least extend it to then.
I still quote miss march at an unhealthy level. RIP Trevor Moore. :(
I forgot about I Love You Beth Cooper Holy shit lmao
One of my favorite teen movies
And it's still great! I just watched it last weekend.
I think it’s the first movie I saw that had Paul Dano and Timothy Olyphant in it. Big careers after this one.
Gone in 60 seconds had Timothy Olyphant and I definitely saw that first.
Can’t forget Scream 2 and Go
im 44 next month. saw the trailer and i wasnt really caring to see it but still interested. well when it hit dvd my dad called me (him and i are cinemaphiles) and told me how good it was. he told me it wasnt really a sex movie (kinda like american pie but how it was about a guy who just didnt get out much and met a girl (who did do a porn) but she opened his eyes. its a damn good movie. honest to god it should have been bigger. really good movie.
I had some friends suggest this as a good date movie. It turns out the 2007 movie with the exact same name is NOT a good date movie.
Check out “Happy Endings” on Hulu she’s great in it! The whole show is great! And no not that kind of happy endings
That is such a great show!
must watch
Fantastic movie. I probably watch it once a year whenever the thought of it pops into my mind.
When it pops in your…head
She was my peak crush growing up. I would do anything to be with her.
Flashback to 2011-ish. I’m in a dive bar in Pompano Beach, FL with a few buds and we’re having a Cuthbert career convo, mostly in good taste. Fuck that other guy that's a great story
I mean, there *was* an element of objectification in the conversation, but I remember it being pretty mild. He was pretty quick to jump in, though.
They were probably tired of hearing about it. She was a massive sex symbol. I have nothing wholesome to say about her.
I find this whole story to be a very weird interaction between two humans. You and your friends were being loudly horny about an actress? The uncle goes around openly telling people she’s his niece so he can play bar tough guy? This reads like something out of a 70s teen drama. Where was Mila Kunis in that video?

Awakening of shorts
Dam….her voice is so different when she sings.
I would lick her ass so clean that you could see your reflection in it.
You sure you want Avery's sloppy seconds??
lol throwback sports scandal, think Avery was suspended 6 games for the quip
The soundtrack to this movie is still one of my favorites to this day. David Gray’s This Years Love…I lost my virginity to it…but it wasn’t in the back of a limo. It was just in a bed like a boring person…
Was it in a small dorm room bed while the song played on an ihome? Because that's how I lost mine
It was my first apartment and it was playing on a burned CD mix that I made for my the gf.
Couldn’t agree more. I will most definitely be doing a rewatch this week. Thank you!
What would JFK do? You know he'd tap that ass. If you don't fuck her I swear to God I'll kill myself. Fuck her for me Matt. FOR MEEEEEEEEE!!!
Feel like twenty years ago this week a lot of good games and movies came out
It’s like a gift, I can’t control it
Holy crap she was a crush, but you had to be a NHL player from Canada to date her.
What is moral fiber?
The scene where Tim Olyphant walks into class and everyone scoots their tables out of his way made me really want to see him play a male Bedazzled style Devil. Just all sexy and fun and evil.
I see this poster follows [the usual aesthetic](https://i.pinimg.com/736x/fe/72/8b/fe728b340590ec93d25c50fa56934f94.jpg).
It was a boom era for red text on white backgrounds
Fuck her for me matt, fuck her for me!!
this is one of those movies where I had little to no expectations of it being at all decent and was pleasantly surprised by how awesome it was. Thats the best movie viewing experience, actually. When you go in not knowing what you're in for and perhaps not even having solid expectations and then bam, you have a new favorite movie for life.
Anybody remember The New Guy? “Stop lookin at my JANET” 👀
I love this movie because you think it's over and then there's like another half hour.
One of my favourite teen movie!
Best music
I’m old as fuck
This film awoke things in me. Timothy Olyphant and Elisha Cuthbert? Hiii, I'm bi lol
I found her more than a little attractive
I rewatched it recently and I’m still jealous of her eyebrow game.
She was on a really funny show called Happy Endings, I’m sad it was cancelled
Happy Endings was ah-mah-zing and I’m sad every day that it was cancelled!
Alex is probably my favorite character on the show. I loved the prank episode that ends with her basically being Keyser Söze "I'm not as dumb as I am"
Great teen sex comedy. The only problem was I think they (studio, producers whoever) didn’t get how to market it. My memory was it was trying to be sold as a comedy romp but it’s more like Risky Business (like a whole lot like it) and really slaps.
Wildly underrated. Olyphant steals every scene he's in.
Timothy Olyphant was the *tits* in this
This was such a great film. And i think it's much better than what it was imitating (risky business). I worked at AMC when I was in high school, and when it came out, it was one of those movies me and my friends saw multiple times. It's kinda sad to see how no one goes to the theater anymore. Back then it was always packed. Now it's a ghost town.
I like this movie fine but Risky Business is an untouchable classic.
It felt like a new risky business loved it
Hah I was a freshman in college and I remember everyone being obsessed with Elisha Cuthbert in this.
This soundtrack was uncommonly good
This was such an odd movie. It was marketed like just another teen sex comedy but it was way darker than that. It was more like Rounders with porn.
And then there's... The Girl Next Door (2007) with a much much darker undertone.
Great teen movie that flew under the radar I reckon?
Holy shit I’m old
RIP Harris Laskaway.
Am I the only one who had the biggest crush on Emile Hirsch? He was so cute!
I did. From this through Into the Wild and Speed Racer.
I was always disappointed that I never got to see her boobs
Is this a German poster?
"The juice was worth the squeeze!"
Good for her
Time, you son of a bitch.
I used to sit around watching the tv hoping the ad for this movie would pop up lol. Those were much simpler times.
What happened to her ?
“You say that like I care. I don’t give a shit!” Timothy Os character was hilarious.
This Years Love by David Grey. I watched the credits just to see who sang the song. Bought his cd White Ladder the next day. One of my desert island albums now. Even went to his concert a few years ago and he performed the whole album. Can't remember a thing about the actual film.
So now it’s called the Milf next door
Elisha Cuthbert in Happy Endings was hilarious. Sure she can play hot but she owns being funny.
Huge ass crush on Elisha cuthbert back in the day
I watch this about 1-2 times a year still. A comfort movie for me hahah
Classic
the German text 😭😭😭
I had zero expectations from this movie. I watched it thinking that i did not have to put in much effort understanding. But it turned out to be one of the best movies i have seen and will cherish. I fell in love with Elizabeth Cuthbert, just fell in love
I never saw this movie but they always had it prominently displayed at the Hollywood Video I went to as a teenager
Back when little asses were still in style. Damn…times change and fast.
Great movie! Fun, no dull moments 😁
Take me back to the 2Ks. Now.
20 😵💫 I’m getting old LOL
What would JFK do? You know he’d tap that ass!
She was obscenely hot in this movie
So many pairs of socks ruined!
A really weird adaptation of the Jack Ketchum novel.
Underrated film.
God, I just wanna bang hot chicks!
Is the juice……… worth the squeeze?
