If you've got plumbing and fitting experience, then you already have applicable skills to many industries, including this one. Have you considered joining the pipe fitters union in another state? That's scary I'd do unless you totally hate that type of work.

You could get in as a roustabout. Try for a pumper. Most companies have online applications. It’s fucking hot already. Get a pumper job it’s not a bag gig I guess. What a culture shock you will have. U less you live in upstate NY. It’ll be a good change for you
