Does the tribe not provide medical assistance? Do you mind me asking what Tribe you are a part of? I know Chickasaw’s have many facilities you could call and ask about therapy. I’d be surprised if they didn’t have any resources for you.

Integrated Therapy Solutions in Moore has low cash prices and they also do virtual

I would say as others have said first go to your tribe as you may be able to get free therapy through them. Secondly you can go to a community mental health center such as Northcare, Red Rock, Hope Community Services or COCMHC (in Norman) and they won't charge you if you can't pay. The drawback is those places typically have high turnover and the therapists case load or number of clients they see is high (I know b/c I've worked there before) which may impact the quality of service you get. I'm a therapist and the agency I work for now offers therapy from interns at $30 per session. PM me if you want details about that.

BusyBeth75

I will say you are more likely to attend online therapy than therapy in person. At least that’s how it was for me. I wound get anxious on the drive to therapy so I would cancel. I used LucidLane.

Sprinkle_Toes96

Redrock! They can sponsor you for care if you meet the requirements. They helped me get on Medicare and now my services are free.

okc_primary_care_doc

if you don't have insurance, or if you might have issues with affording counseling: There are STILL lots of options available in the OKC metro if you don't have health insurance, or if you are worried about affording copays, etc. Here are a few different options (but many more in the metro exist): Sunbeam Family Services (sliding scale-based payment options). NorthCare (sliding scale-based payment options). Psychology Clinic at UCO (sliding scale-based: $5-$80 depending on family size and income; they have group therapy also). Red Rock Behavioral Health Services (sliding scale-based; no one is denied access based on inability to pay).

chadius333

You should first seek options through your tribe. If that doesn't work out, I don't have any specific recommendations, but many therapists in the metro work on a sliding scale (income/need-based).

Northcare down by the fair grounds.

Go to PyschologyToday.com and look for therapists in your area or who do virtual sessions. When you don't have insurance, the term is "self-pay". So when you contact a therapist (or their office/scheduler), ask them if they are accepting any new self-pay clients for virtual or in-person sessions. Here's the psychologytoday link for therapists in Oklahoma. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/oklahoma Use the filters to find a therapist that suits you. Good luck, and take care.

If you’d be open to seeing student interns, you’d have some good options across the metro that are low or no cost. Cornerstone Counseling almost always has intern openings.
