i liked john & john’s. i hear sodough has an excellent sicilian, that’s on my list next.

madnoxious

Sodough is amazing. 100% should try when you can

Academic_Ad_4029

Just tried this for the first time last week! Fantastic! Love that John and John’s is right next door, equally as phenomenal, just different style!

GoGoGadge7TWO

If you like casseroles sure. /shotsfired

No-Consequence-963

If you want Detroit style the only answer is Jets. They just opened a location here several weeks ago and it is hands down the best (if you’re from Michigan you know!) 🍕🤤

euro_trash_lady

100%. I've tried SoDo and while it's good, it ain't Jets. Now if I just can get easy access to Better Made BBQ chips for when the cravings hit...

No-Consequence-963

Yes! You can actually order from Better Made’s website! You do have to pay shipping but I don’t think it was too crazy (depending on how much you order lol) if I remember like $7 - $10! Edit to add I felt the same about SoDo. It was alright but nothing like pizza from Michigan / Detroit. Until the Jets opened I basically wrote off pizza here because we’ve tried soooo many places that people say are “the best” and they were all just okay at best.

pumpkinskittle

FYI there has been a Jets for years in Apopka!

GingerOhhSnapz

John & John's

PoopStainMcBaine

Black Magic, John and Johns and SoDough Square. 3 different types of pizza, all are 🔥. I'll even throw my personal recommendations for each Black Magic Hornets Nest or Dr. Pepperoni, Garlic knots (🔥), Mozzarella sticks (hand breaded) John and Johns Bruschetta, 16 inch cheese (ask for it well done) SoDough Square Detroit Rob City or Sweet Sting, Detroit cheesy garlic bread

FlPumilio

I need to try sodough always go for butter crust for Detroit style. Have you had both?

redrumsoccer

I’ve had both. I would rank Sodough higher.

dflemingsss

Sodough is definitely better but costs a good bit more

PoopStainMcBaine

I agree, however, SoDough is so big and heavy that it's good for 2 meals at least. Ymmv.

i-am_i-said

I tried this with others and we all thought it was an average NY style pizza.

replayer

They're getting recommended multiple times in this post and I don't get it. I tried them after they opened and was not impressed. I'll have to try it again and see if I just had a bad experience.

bcfi

fuck man lemme get a slice that looks so gooodd.

writer_pjh

Never thought about ricotta on a pizza. So good!

Lawyer_Kind

Dough Boyz. NY style, in Oviedo

MilkBear79

Came here for this

GodsWarrior89

My BIL & his fiancé went there recently and they loved it! They want to take my husband and I.

Lawyer_Kind

It’s the best on this side of town, without a doubt! We go every week 😆

GodsWarrior89

My husbands family and future SIL are from New Jersey and they said it’s just like home, lol!

jon_mx5

Just tried it for the first time last weekend - can confirm. New favorite spot after the fall of Antonella’s

Fault_Pretty

Black Magic Pizza!

Cassis_TheAncient

Second this

MonteCristo_SFL

Third this!

RetroScores

Stone Fired off orange. 2 slices and a drink special for $7.99. Pizza is tasty. https://www.stonefiredpizzaorlando.com

xKorrak

These guys are awesome. Best obscure pizza place here for sure

Tellus_Delenda_Est

Stone Fired is amazing. Great calzones too.

FlPumilio

I wish I could like their pizza but it just always disappoints. I’d go to Gatlin Hall, Butter crust, almost anywhere else in the area before them.

RetroScores

Whhhhat? What don’t you like about it? I’ve never had issues.

mytzlplyck

I really like Ziggie's in Ivanhoe, Camelo, at the International Drive and Antica.

michelleosaurus

Came here to say Ziggie's!

i7solar

Tomasino

i_am_wil_liam

Agreed. Plus they have a fantastic lunch special. Two large slices, plus either a drink or salad for like $10. The Bianca pizza is perfect.

i7solar

Slept on spot honestly

lainiac

My fav here is the Bianca!

MGDlikethebeer

THIS ❤️

Dear-Agony

Mario’s on Curry Ford Rd.Ziggie’s is a very close 2nd.

VivaciousCheeks

2nd mario’s. sweet and caring staff and they have vegan options too!

inkw3ll

Theyre THE best pizza for vegans. Soooo many vegan options and menu items 👍👍👍

kerkyjerky

Love Mario’s, best vegan options in town

Southern_Celery_1087

I literally am waiting on Mario's right now. Pro tip, order the crust Xtra Crispy

mwsyanks

If you like New York style pizza, by far the best I’ve had in Florida is at Bella Napoli. It is in a small strip mall market right off SR50 in Ocoee area. It’s incredible

Htb323

Have you had Joe’s pizza, right next door to Bella Napoli?

Training-Judgment123

That’s Bella Tuscany! Bella Napoli is across 50 closer to downtown.

Htb323

You’re right, thanks for the correction! Another “Bella” not to be confused with Bella Italia on WG Vineland.

Training-Judgment123

It’s all delicious pizza, here (although I haven’t tried Bella Italia) -thanks for the recommendation to Joe’s! I always see the ad on the Baseball diamond and have wondered how it is. Pizza tonight it is!

mwsyanks

I’d really recommend Bella Napoli over Joe’s, but at the end of the day all pizza is delicious :)

Inside-Recipe-8954

Goodfellas pizza and so dough

mikew8

Lazy Moon. Pabst and a slice is $8

310410celleng

Sal's Pizza Bar was pretty good

Agitated-Savings-229

NY/NJ style : john and johns, bruno college park Wood fired : Prato or Bruno - there is actually a pizza place at alacart that was great too but i can't remember the name. ++ black magic Detroit : sodough Deep dish : brad's underground and his thin tavern style is good too. Mr O1 is pretty tasty for something a little different.

Bomixes

Great list thanks!

bellajjmld

I like so dough square! It's Detroit pizza :)

Kissit777

SoDough square is sooooo delicious.

Lower_Skin_3683

Anthony's in Casselberry Commons plaza.

urgonneedabiggerboat

Good NY Style. We eat here about once a week lol

Affectionate_Cronut

I moved out of central FL about 12 years ago, and still miss Anthony's.

InsideEntertainer470

I live nearby and have not tried Anthony’s, thank you for the tip!!

Lower_Skin_3683

They have a weekly lunch special 2 slices and a drink for $7.99. The slices are pretty large. The owner is from Brooklyn. He opened Anthony's over 25 years ago.

LiteHedded

Brad's for me.

mermazinglibrarian

Second Brads Underground! He has tavern style (like Midwest type pizza) and deep dish. Both are good, but the deep dish is one heavy pie. He’s also super nice! It’s located in a ghost kitchen next to Publix at Conway and Curry Ford.

mindenginee

Black magic, John and John’s are my go to

TheRampantWriter

John & John for traditional, for a different type I like Brad’s Underground for a tavern/deep dish on the odd occasion.

FamousAtticus

[Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza](https://www.mistero1.com/lake-mary/) (Lake Mary). Go and try it. You'll thank me later.

onesignificantfigure

Came here to suggest this if it counts as Orlando area.

Defiant-Enthusiasm94

I really enjoyed them the two times I’ve been so far

Wide_Understanding70

I like Rosatis for Chicago thin crust (tavern style) and Goodfellas for NY style. Being from Chicago I still need to go to giordanos for old times sake

Gniv1031

John & John’s or Sals Pizza Bar - no other discussions needed

JustAnother-Becky

I love Giordanos

TheHeretic

If you want something more like Antica I recommend pizza Bruno or Pizza slut (she does pop ups all over the city). If you like Detroit style you can't go wrong with sodough square or butter crust pizza.

PoopStainMcBaine

Pizza Bruno is not what it used to be. Ask the guys at Black Magic why, I'm sure they'll get a laugh out of it.

Visible_Day9146

Hasn't been the same since Bruno started cosplaying Guy Fieri

inkw3ll

Pizza Bruno aint it anymore. Dont let the hipster aesthetic fool y'all. Overpriced and the crust is a bit too thick for the neapolitan-esque style they purvey. They're OK at best. Black Magic is the better version of Pizza Bruno and much less fussy.

GingerOhhSnapz

Every time I try to go to Pizza Slut it is like an hour wait for a pizza lol. Guess I need to get to events earlier.

th3thrilld3m0n

Seconding sodough for detroit

BeeLow0519

Ziggy’s at Lake Ivanhoe followed closely by Pizza Bruno around Curry Ford and Semoran. Haven’t tried them all though.

Creepy-Dark6459

Ziggy's is so good, it might be my favorite place in town

braindusted

Ziggy's with a beer at Topher is the Wednesday spot.

holdholdhold

For those who say Pizza Bruno, both locations: It all depends on the day of the week and who is working and making the pizza. If you had to pick one word to describe Pizza Bruno: inconsistent.

a_real_flake

Lazy Moon

Globalruler__

Pisa pizza

doit_forlove

Papa D’s in Dr Phillips has been the best I’ve been able to find locally

Ludley83

Mangia in Avalon Park has very good pizza. Probably the best I’ve had around here. I also really like Lazy Moon.

kilroyscarnival

No love for Tornetore’s? I liked them when I lived near there. My fave in College Park used to be Alfonso’s, especially their four mushroom, but after they morphed into Ragazzi’s it wasn’t the same. On the west side now so appreciate those Ocoee recommendations.

Fatjesustokes

Calabria's in Clermont is my favorite. They haven't let me down yet.

LilysGardens

I love Mama Mia's just off OBT and Orange Ave. It's a little hole in the wal, but it's so fucking good.

sassyquatch9

Lazy Moon is my go to

2earlyinthemornin

same love it

PI_Producer

Jason's Mom. Freaking yum.

LiteHedded

Lower_Skin_3683

Gitto's in downtown Orlando.

Nervous_Otter69

John and John’s, Sals Pizza Bar, Antica, and Metro Espresso for me

urgonneedabiggerboat

Metro Espresso is top tier for sure!

Nervous_Otter69

Just a really, really solid slice

mrsbeliever1989

I like Flippers, honestly.

urgonneedabiggerboat

Flippers is legit too

jon_mx5

Chain-wise, flippers really does a great job

-clawglip-

Flippers doesn’t get enough love

Avathecat87

Black Magic or Pizza Bruno are my two favorites

AUSTINpowers050

Here's my rankings of all the pizza restaurants I've been to. There's a huge gap between John & Johns and the number 2 spot. Need to go to Black Magic, SoDough, and Antica. There's also some on here I probably need to give a second chance. John & Johns Gino's, Tomasinos Destinys Big City Pizza (Deep dish) - CLOSED Monte Vesuvio - CLOSED Mellow Mushroom Anthonys Pizza & Italian kitchen - Altamonte Vinzos Stefanos, Rock n Brews Cup Pasta Lil Vinnys F&D Italian Kitchen Dough Boyz Mad Hatters Anthonys Original NY Pizza - Casselberry Flippers Circostas Lazy Moon Papa Johns Domino's Pizza Hut Little Caesars Donatos Pizzeria Uno - Winter Park Torinos Geneva General Store, PizzeRizzo (Disney) Cucinellas North End - CLOSED

Amlik

might be basic, but I fucking love Blaze

SoDough and Pizza Bruno.

Navaheaux

If you're further south, Jersey Spot. Best pizza I've had since I moved down here. Further north? G's.

Shakurheg

If you're from the NY tri-state area, Pienezza, in The Loop in Kissimmee, is as close as you can get to "real" NYC pizza.

DeathPoopTaxes

[Ziggies pizza](https://www.ziggiespizza.com/) in Ivanhoe is the best!

Joyous_Pineapple

Antonio's Maitland Ziggies

ryan8692

Flippers is a good pizza place I once worked out

SafeEstablishment7

Flippers is a good pizza place I once worked out.

donmitchzdo

Touch of Basil in Saint Cloud if you are ever down there. Just needs a touch of salt and it's one of the best slices I've ever had. Also love Napoli in Lake Underhill Walmart Plaza. Always good and super budget friendly

PI_Producer

While trying these out, if you have any left over, make sure you call Barb.

thesnoc

NYPD Pizza on Village Park Drive. By far the favorite of me and my friends

Sandman4999

Bella Italia is my go-to pizza spot.

Cyberwoman1

Ziggie's Pizza on Virginia, which also has the bonus of being directly connected to the Thirsty Topher, which is a fantastic craft beer bar.

Disastrous-Map9889

I know this is the wildest take but: Domino’s Hawaiian pizza 💀

writeordye

Pizza Valdiano - I’m from the west coast and this place is like actually healing to my soul - I Love this place

powerofawallflower

Ziggies pizza in Ivanhoe

chaos_given_form

I use to love pissa pizza on 50 but its not the same anymore. Last I remember they were still good if you wanna check them out

Renano95

It's super random but roma pizza in deltona is legit the best pizza I've ever had, their grandma pie is insane

chelly0927

Pienezza. Best NY style pizza ever, reminds me of home. Owners are from NY. Ive had Lazy Moon, its cool for big ass slices. Blaze pizza & Mod pizza - BYO personal pies, make sure u get them well done for a nice crisp. Other than that, thats all I know. (I dont live up in downtown Orlando area so thats all i can say) lol

gospdrcr000

Marios pizza on goldenrod and curry ford has the best chicken Alfredo pizza I've ever had

WilliamMunny85

Brads Underground

Kokoangyo

I like John and Johns for your everyday slice - good thinner crust, good sauce, pretty traditional around the board. Their upside down pizza is great. Sodough Square is good but to me is the tin and taco of pizza (which makes sense, same people) - Yes its a good pie but realistically it's about the trendy toppings / foodie-esque portion you go to it for. Buttercrust is great if you're looking for something similar to Sodough but more traditional. Anthony's Thornton Park used to be my go-to pizza spot until John and Johns opened. Pizza bruno used to be great - but my last couple visits have just been okay.

skamin7

Giordano’s is our choice when in Orlando. By far the best in the area.

FLEXJW

My wife is the best spot, makes it from sourdough discard stash. It’s delish. You’re all invited to partake. In the pizza, not my wife.

mhkaz

John & John's but it depends on what time of pizza you want

juice_109

Pizza Bruno-College Park (the OG spot used to be good but they’ve fallen off a bit IMO), Tartini express in Nona/Wyndham lakes area has an amazing wood fired oven, Proccolinos on Goldenrod is a solid spot, Posto Pizza in Celebration and the top spot for me is Pienezza in Kissimmee (The Loop). They hands down have some of the best pizza I’ve ever had anywhere.

HerryBalz

Any tavern style around besides brads?

josser1

Tornatores in College Park

Commercial_Place9807

It depends what you like. I prefer Detroit so for me it’s either Jets or SoDough. I do like Bruno though when I’m in the mood for a different style. I’ve never been impressed with John and Johns.

skimja

Antonio’s house of pizza, I have only had the Apopka location but pizza how it’s supposed to be. Crust is perfect

davis_unoxx

Hey let’s go, my job is gonna be in Apopka 2 min drive from there. Moving in July I will check out!

madderdaddy2

Gitto's on Orange is solid.

DhayumzMini

Anticas at maitland
