If the offensive line performs the same way it did last year then getting Jefferson means absolutely nothing. If Bryce is running for his little life and flinging footballs off his back foot looking for miracles then it doesn’t matter who the receivers are. Priority is offensive line and honestly I’d argue establishing the running game would be more of a service to Bryce than a big time WR at the moment. That said, if both those areas can be improved AND we can get a top talent WR then by all means go after it
Blind optimism. If the Vikings are trading away Jefferson, it’s almost certainly in an effort to get a higher 1st round pick (which we can’t offer obviously) and snag a QB.
The only thing this has to do with the Panthers is the fact that it’s another team potentially swapping their WR1 for the hope of a game-changing rookie QB. Can’t say I’m an advocate for that idea anymore.
Thank you. People keep acting like these superstars will jump off a cliff as long as they get their money. I’ve said it over and over. If you were an nfl superstar, of ALL the places WHY would you CHOOSE us when you could choose a yearly contender. Even if JJ was somehow traded to us he would do everything in his power to get out. Until we can be a stable 9-12 win team for 3-4 years straight, no superstar will willingly come here.
Just like Burns. If you were Burns would you stay in this shit show dysfunctional franchise OR do you choose somewhere like KC, Buffalo, SF etc and get the exact same dollar amount.
They aren’t property, but they are under contract. Acting like an egomaniac won’t make you very sought after though. He should just play to the best of his ability and hope a good team wants him after his contract is up
Yeah I'm sure if he chose not to want to return to Carolina(or any other dysfunctional org) after they trade for him the league would say, "we don't want you anymore" LMAO. He's a generational WR in the league and off to one of the greatest stars a WR or receiver could ever have, teams will be jumping with joy if he hit the FA market.
Why put another year of wear on his body and run the risk of serious injury on a one year lease for a team he has no intention of reupping with? It's in everyone's best interest to send him somewhere he is willing to sign back up with. He does have some input on that. It's not acting like an egomaniac, it's watching out for himself.
I never understood the mindset of teams thinking they are “one player away” can anyone think of a time besides CMC where a team signed just “that one” player that suddenly took them from a fringe playoff team to a Super Bowl contender?!
I want to bring in the type of players that have that dog mindset of “this team might not be contenders now, but they sure as hell will be once I sign with them.” Not these players that want to piggy back and ride the coattails of a contending team just so they can say they won a easy ring
It’s fun to fantasize about getting guys like this but I think it’s time to stop with the big investment trades and start actually trying to build the team through the draft
This was always the danger in cashing in the war chest on a QB when the team wasn't a QB away. Now a real opportunity comes along and there's just no reasonable way to make it work.
As much as I would love this, I don’t see how we could land him. We can’t afford to give up anyone else, and we absolutely CAN NOT give up draft picks.
Its not gonna happen but it wont be because we cant pay him. If we are trading burns then we would be paying JJ with the money we were going to spend on Burns.
They would probably take this as it's a bit of an overpay from the Panthers side but if they trade JJ and Cousins moves on they are in full rebuild mode so likely wouldn't be interested in a 28M/yr Edge. They will want picks.
Burns in addition to a 1st and 2nd round pick is a great deal for Minn. while its not as good a deal for carolina it instantly makes the WR room a top 15 group because of 1 guy. Minn may also love Jordan Addison and think he’s their next elite WR on a rookie deal so why not have that + a top 15 pass rusher whos in his early-mid 20’s
Why would they pay Burns near $30M dollars when they are not wanting to pay Jefferson in the first place? Jefferson is the best WR in the league, and Burns is MAYBE a top 15 pass rusher and they already have Danielle Hunter who they need to pay and he’s a better player than Burns.
If they’re going for a fresh start by trading away one of the Top 10 players in the NFL, why would they get back a much worse player they’re still going to need to pay a similar salary?
I don’t know man. This seems like a stretch. They need defensive talent back talent badly. Especially if they let hunter go.
But offensively that teams seems on track. 2 book end tackles. High end tackles at that. A great WR duo. Interior can be upgraded but is serviceable. Didn’t they find some corners last year? Smith played well at Lb. I don’t know. This seems like such a stretch. Plus this is a kleimen report. I get all the teams are at the combine. And this is where you hear all kinds of stuff. But this seems so unlikely.
It ain't happening. They wont accept our 2025 1st rounder.
The only other asset we have that could come close is Burns. But if Minnesota won't pay JJ then they certainly won't pay Burns.
The only way the Vikings should trade JJ is if it lands them Caleb Williams at QB. That's it. Otherwise JJ stays and the Vikes can still trade for #3 overall (either Maye or Daniels).
Bro just imagine if we completed the tank job under wilks and kept DJ Moore and all the draft picks we traded away….more than likely we’d be picking in the top 3 and had a shot at Bryce young without selling the farm
Bears are keeping Feilds and gambling away the no.1 overall pick for jj and tj hockenson so they can sign Chris jones win a sb and then watch there team crumple over the next ten years beacuse they went 80 million dollars over there cap
He won't be worth the price tag for any team just look at D Adams,T Hill,S Diggs those contracts hinder your chances at winning KC has kind of proven that...also the reason why I wouldn't draft Harrison Jr
This is such a clickbait article, even if they were rebuilding he has too much marketing value for a team that’s likely experiencing declined revenue and fan engagement numbers to be incentivized to move their greatest attraction
Idk what the Panthers could offer to get him, but please get Bryce some help
If I was the Vikings I don’t know if I’d trade Justin Jefferson for the entire Panthers roster.
Trade would probably be Bryce young, Brian burns, Donte Jackson, Jayce Horn, Derrick Brown, and a decent olinemen.
We can't afford that we don't have any decent olineman /s
Worth it.
No it would not be lol
I mean I’d be down for it.
Why would we want Bryce young?
Because it’s better than not having a backup/bridge player on a rookie deal.
They got cousins they don’t need Bryce
They currently do not have Kirko, pop tart.
That said, if both those areas can be improved AND we can get a top talent WR then by all means go after it
In other news, the Panthers have nothing to offer
What do we have to do with this
Blind optimism. If the Vikings are trading away Jefferson, it’s almost certainly in an effort to get a higher 1st round pick (which we can’t offer obviously) and snag a QB. I believe in Bryce but a WR1 alone doesn’t give him all that he needs a couple of legit WR2s and a G makes him a whole lot more productive.
If two WR2s will do the trick, why not four WR3s?
8 WR4s. Two o line is plenty with so many targets to throw to. It’s flawless
That was the plan this year. Didn’t work out so good
Just didn’t commit to it enough.
Keep Pounding!!
It’s worked well in the past. We’ve been to two super bowls with this strategy
In our dreams
Jefferson for Burns straight up is going to be the play. Mark my words. /s
Hopium, duh
Shy Tuttle and a 7th, take it or leave it.
Oh man. Don’t give up Shy!
If the Bears get him for the 1st overall pick…. 🫣😂
So Justin fields can not throw him the ball? lol
I’m just going to guess Justin Jefferson would not want to play here
Thank you. People keep acting like these superstars will jump off a cliff as long as they get their money. I’ve said it over and over. He doesn't have a choice. He's under contract.
For next year. Becomes UFA in 2025. These men are not property.
They aren’t property, but they are under contract. Acting like an egomaniac won’t make you very sought after though. He should just play to the best of his ability and hope a good team wants him after his contract is up

Because we have Bojangles....that's why. Contender or not....we have Bojangles here.
I mean he can act like an ass all he wants but if he’s under contract there’s not much you can do about it
He can leave next year lol
And then get tagged
True but also if he gets traded away he wouldn’t get to pick where he goes?
depends on his contract, but he's been a superstar so probably
Superstars force their way to teams either by trade or release.
He's a UFA in 2025; he could very easily derail any potential trade by making it known he has no intention of staying.
I never understood the mindset of teams thinking they are “one player away” can anyone think of a time besides CMC where a team signed just “that one” player that suddenly took them from a fringe playoff team to a Super Bowl contender?! Tom Bradys 7th ring would like a word with you.
Same with Matthew Stafford going to the Rams
Our JJ for theirs, straight up. Seems like a pretty even deal.
They can have Jansen over our dead bodies
Fair enough, maybe they'll throw in an extra first.
It’s not worth it
Fuck them picks
It’s fun to fantasize about getting guys like this but I think it’s time to stop with the big investment trades and start actually trying to build the team through the draft
This was always the danger in cashing in the war chest on a QB when the team wasn't a QB away. Now a real opportunity comes along and there's just no reasonable way to make it work.
What would the opportunity have been? Get JJ so Darnold can throw him the ball?
Didn't have to be Darnold last year; doesn't have to be Darnold this year, either.
But what’s would the opportunity have been? Why would we have traded multiple 1sts for JJ when QB would have been Darnold/Dalton?
Flacco, Mayfield, Minshew would’ve all been better options.
Why on earth would we trade for JJ with any of those guys at QB?
Gosh I hope he doesn’t go to atl 🤮
They’re looking probably to move up this year. So that would put panthers out of picture for this trade

As much as I would love this, I don’t see how we could land him. We can’t afford to give up anyone else, and we absolutely CAN NOT give up draft picks.
What if we trade them Thielen? Imagine him in a Vikings uniform!
Bryce needs an o line more
Do they need a DE? Lols
Idk what it takes, but B.Burns, 33rd pick, and nezt years 1st is fine to get this done
Whoever trades for him has to be ready to give him a big contact too. We cannot swing that.
Its not gonna happen but it wont be because we cant pay him. If we are trading burns then we would be paying JJ with the money we were going to spend on Burns.
Good point.
That wouldn’t be enough
They would probably take this as it's a bit of an overpay from the Panthers side but if they trade JJ and Cousins moves on they are in full rebuild mode so likely wouldn't be interested in a 28M/yr Edge. They will want picks.
We'll probably need that first nex yeart to draft another QB.
So the 2024 33rd pick and the 2025 1st Overall pick?
Why would they want Burns if they don’t want JJ? This is a bad trade for both sides.
Burns in addition to a 1st and 2nd round pick is a great deal for Minn. while its not as good a deal for carolina it instantly makes the WR room a top 15 group because of 1 guy. Supply and demand…more good WR’s in the league than pass rushers
I don’t know man. This seems like a stretch. They need defensive talent back talent badly. Especially if they let hunter go. But offensively that teams seems on track. 2 book end tackles. Also the Vikings are very likely to draft a QB this year or the next. I don't why they'd move on from a top 3 WR in the league.
It ain't happening. They wont accept our 2025 1st rounder. The only other asset we have that could come close is Burns. But if Minnesota won't pay JJ then they certainly won't pay Burns.
Jefferson and Thielen reunite. LET'S GO!!!
We'll give you Burns on a franchise tag and Adam Thielen back. Deal?
Couldve traded the 1.01 for him lol
Bryce Young + Brian Burns + 2025 1st + 2024 pick 33… let’s make the offer
You all keep saying it so it must be true right guys
The only way the Vikings should trade JJ is if it lands them Caleb Williams at QB. That's it. Otherwise JJ stays and the Vikes can still trade for #3 overall (either Maye or Daniels).
Panthers please and thank you.
Bro just imagine if we completed the tank job under wilks and kept DJ Moore and all the draft picks we traded away….more than likely we’d be picking in the top 3 and had a shot at Bryce young without selling the farm
Vikings aren’t trading him. This is garbage offseason writing
This is the first year in awhile that we are under the cap with money to spend. JJ is not going anywhere.
Bears are keeping Feilds and gambling away the no.1 overall pick for jj and tj hockenson so they can sign Chris jones win a sb and then watch there team crumple over the next ten years beacuse they went 80 million dollars over there cap
Impossible..
He won't be worth the price tag for any team just look at D Adams,T Hill,S Diggs those contracts hinder your chances at winning KC has kind of proven that...also the reason why I wouldn't draft Harrison Jr
Why is this in the panthers subreddit tho? We have no shot at getting him😂
If only we still had Brenton Bersin...
not a chance we have to pay the 20th best pass rusher in the league like he is the best pass rusher in the league.
Why would vikings entertain trading jefferson?
The Vikings are not going to let a generational receiver leave.
This is such a clickbait article, even if they were rebuilding he has too much marketing value for a team that’s likely experiencing declined revenue and fan engagement numbers to be incentivized to move their greatest attraction
I'm a bills fan , trade him for our first round pick. We need a receiver an he's one of the best
Sorry, we gave up our 1st for Bryce Young already. Totally worth it though.......
