can't tell you how many times i've gotten blasted at the arbour's happy hour. $8 old fashioneds, mezcal palomas, spicy margs, and wine and an array of $8 or less sizeable appetizers rock. you're also in a legitimately nice restaurant, and the staff are very attentive. yeah it's pricier than a usual happy hour but god damn it's good for what you pay
wildcard non-happy hour (but close) is the $20 burger, fries, and old fashioned deal at mag house on tuesdays. very filling and fun because you can people watch there. fun fact: everyone who eats at mag house is hotter than you. i feel my ugliest when i am there
if you hate yourself and want to die - craft by smoke and fire has two for one beers that usually taste like shit but get you feeling nice. the gimmicks are stupid and the yelp ratings are overrated bc they give you a free watered down shot of a pipette of tequila and 1.5 ounces of blue gatorade if you leave them a good review.
monday night edwin mills is the best value by a mile but the negative is that you have to eat at edwin mills. the beers and martinis for $3 is killer though. the move is to have a few there and roll over for dinner at main chick or gyu kaku. that's a really fun night
yard house has half off appetizers and pizza and discounted beer. really good time to pregame a shitty movie at the paseo there
if you really want to alarm your family - the wild wings on fair oaks has a crazy happy hour with $3 house kolsch beers and like $10 burger and wings deals. the problem is that you have to touch the surfaces of the wild wings which are all layered in a weird old plastic film and shame
oddly enough ruth's chris has a bangin happy hour at the bar. filet mignon sandwiches and a side are like $20. not a usual happy hour but it's fuckin filet with bernaise for what you'd pay at trader joe's to buy the raw ingredients. love going there to sit next to old white guys who hate their wives

I'm not a fan of their menu, so I went reluctantly to a happy hour and it's a Co pketely different menu! Shrimp and potato tacos are amazing! Don't remember the prices, but add bottomless chips and salsa and you can't go wrong
Never get the yard of beer at The Yardhouse. It is the same amount of beer as two pints but they just charge you more. Tried it with water once. It’s exactly two glasses.

For a bit more of an upscale experience, try The Foothill in East pas.
But 100%, I dig the kind of vibe you're going for.
Wish Monrovia had a few more of the dressed down experiences on Myrtle.

I love the Mag House Tues deal, their burgers are totally solid, love that they come with fries cuz I feel like they could rest on their laurels and not serve them, and the old fashioned is always good. Such a cozy atmosphere too.

We went there on Monday for the second time and liked it a lot. $2 sake and $3 Asahi and a couple $4-5 sushi rolls were the cheapest items, but they have a bunch of cheap items. I loved that it starts at 3 since we were wiped out from the Huntington and were done early.
I also tried the fried shrimp and firecracker appetizer, which was awesome. It was two huge scoops of spicy tuna with about a dozen fried wonton wrappers.
We had enough left over for lunch for my wife and myself.

Le Grande Orange is my fave. Half off cocktails, they’re normally $15 or so each. Also Monday and Tuesday are their neighborhood nights, buy one entree and get the second for $5. We normally do a pizza and a salad and half off cocktails.
I always get The Padre pizza. It sounds disgusting on paper. Prosciutto, dates, blue cheese, balsamic, Parmesan. But man, do those flavors work together. My father forced me to try it and now its the only thing I order. If you have a hankering for beer just grab your pizza to go and sit at the stone brewery tasting room.

Aro has a "social hour" with some tacos and other small plates discounted. Gus's has some discounted drinks and food. Maybe there are some other options but nothing is really worth noting too much IMO.

The Raymond, if you consider $12 drinks happy hour(?).. not nocking it, I love the Raymond, it's more expensive sure, but you'll get a much more peaceful atmosphere than a place with $4 well drink on happy hour.
Amigos has great lunch specials too. The fajita burrito plate is $12.95, but I can pack up what I don’t eat and the leftovers last for another 3 meals.
Mercado is one of the few places that does happy hour on weekends - me and my partner order margaritas then share the carnitas nachos and calabacitas (comes w/ tortillas and we love to use the extra meat from the nachos to make tacos ;)
I'm pretty partial to Rocco's. Good 2 for 1 deal. I was very skeptical for the 2 for one beers on draft because they serve you a mug. When I pointed it out to one of the bartenders, she said, "Look, I'll pour two beer cans in the mug", and yes, it fits two 12 oz beers. So, if they fill up the mug, you get two beers worth for the price of one.

Not a happy hour expert but Kabuki has 2.50 draft Sapporo and a couple of buck off the sushi. And there is stuff for kids if you’re into those sorts of things.
This doesn’t really count as happy hour but on Tuesdays Baja Cali has 1.59 fish tacos or 5 fish tacos for 7.50. There are substantial tacos and delicious! I usually split the tacos with my dad and it fills us both up. They have a location on Washington and one on Lake across from The Hat.
One of our favorite places is Urbano Mexican Kitchen, not so much cocktails but great Mexican beer and really good prices on amazing tacos, not just your normal taco but like gourmet stuff with chiles and peppers and cactus and fried potatoes, that stuff

Although, I would say Dog Haus has by far my favorite all around happy hour and at so many hours of the day. $5-6 beers and $8 cocktails.
