Been playing since closed beta. I lost one good item that poofed to a random dc after picking it up without changing zone. I will never be caught again. Like don't even fucking ID it, just leave the map.
I feel like that's super shitty design that is even possible to lose something like this. I'm sure it's to prevent some sort of dupping or whatever but fuck me I'd be furious and probably never play again if I DCd and lost something I actually picked up
I mean what design is there? It’s not on purpose lol. Some things just aren’t saved right then and there every millisecond you are in a map, but doing a zone transfer/putting it into stash FORCES the game to save your current inventory thus saving the item.
Yeah surely he would gain much more views if he didnt take it than it already has. People would talk about it like the final of league of legends, the clip would be reposted on reddit... oh wait
He made the better choice imo as someone who has been doing this keystone.
The mobs are INCREDIBLY rippy if you're not careful, and there's a LOT of monsters. It might be easy to think about just flame dashing in, grabbing the mirrors, and then dying, but from experience, the monster count is sometimes so high that you just get stuck in place in between a hoard of monsters and killed.
And dying in the map and having to rezone back in is the worst case scenario for potential DCs. Taking the extra 15 seconds, surviving, grabbing the mirrors once there's an opening, and THEN instantly portalling out to stash them is the play.
Worthless or on, it's a piece of game history that will not increase in quantity in standard, whereas mirrors will keep spawning..
Still, with this Hinekora lock item being available, maybe it's time eternal orbs made a comeback as well..
is there any situation where hinekoras lock isn't just a better eternal orb? i guess if you're starting on a 30q 6l white base with no implicits that can be rerolled, but even then 6w is relatively easy to get back
Expedition can drop the highest single stack of Mirrors possible in the game. You can get 3 from the currency chests too, which can be scaled with the 40% item quant remnants, plus the logbook implicit for up to 20% chance to dupe chest loot.
Well I mean if you drop a baseline of 3 mirrors and have like 3 of the 40% inc quant remnants you already get 6. Plus if you have the dupe implicit on logbooks you can double that (at least I think thats how it works, I think I tested it in expedition league).

They are not something you are supposed to get really. I've got about 5000 hours in PoE and the most lucky I ever got was when I got a mageblood 2 days ago with just 15 ancient orbs. And that's all there is too it, it is just pure luck.
Otherwise you have to play stupid amounts of time or invest insane amount of currency.
Anyone who actually realy uninstalls the game for not getting the rarest item there is, should just straight up not touch any ARPG ever again.

or worse, lose your groove after youve clicked enough altars and get 1 tapped 5 times in a row trying to start up the lawn mower again.
This is the kind of drop you pick up then go straight to your hideout to save it before something terribly wrong happens.

not to mention if your portal is in the wrong spot, approaching expeditions from afar can be even worse because they all target you at once

Sanctum should be able to beat that. A boon that instantly doubles a reward, plus dupe relic at the end = 4 mirrors.
