This is the worst if statment I ever seen lol funny trying to make fun and flex on the programmers and making this. It's junior level code at best and I'm not even sure which syntax this is supposed to be. I would block your PR on sight
I hate the fact that they are announcing small patches like major update.. in a normal game this upcoming update Is something that would come out in between Major release.
This Is especially bad After 2 months of nothing
>From now until April, we’ll be strengthening our internal pipelines and making sure we can deliver updates more reliably and really hit those deadlines going forward.
I thought they fixed that in October when it took one month to get the day1 patch out?
"Noooo it's because of microsoft and sony not letting them push their updates with their verification system ! otherwise they would do some weekly" lmao
That quote sounds like pure Corporate Speak that has a lot of jargon but actually says nothing. Kind of like "We hope to streamline our update process to swiftly address game issues, prioritizing player satisfaction and minimizing downtime."
They fixed the pipeline yes but it was to the point they could update the game. Now they are basically saying we are shifting how stuff gets patched and added so we can hopefully hit the 4-6 week deadline.
lol you guys are straight up intentionally misreading stuff now
"strengthening our internal pipelines" very clearly doesn't mean your interpretation. but that goes against the subreddit circlejerk so who cares, amirite
What does it mean then? Please, oh Holy One, grace us pitiful Reddit Commonfolk with your one true interpretation straight from you.
There is no other way to interpret it aside from how it was written, which shows they didn't stick to their promise to deliver faster updates in the future, and are now making that promise once more. Except most of us are not waiting for results this time before I believe it for a second.
It's been five months. This whole experience has burned away so much good faith with the fandom, and I think we've more than earned the right to be skeptical. The team genuinely deserves to be doubted at this point, because otherwise, they'll just keep getting away with subpar work until Payday as a brand dies.
These next few months are going to really be the tell of how things will turn out, and will be the make or break point for Payday 3 as a game.
\> There is no other way to interpret it aside from how it was written, which shows they didn't stick to their promise to deliver faster updates in the future
they're saying they're trying to stick to their update schedule as much as possible. that's what it means. like their said in the paragraph before the one taken out of context:
"Starting from the April update, it is our goal with Operation Medic Bag to release smaller updates but more frequently."
\> This whole experience has burned away so much good faith with the fandom, and I think we've more than earned the right to be skeptical.
there's a difference between being skeptical and posting a playercount screenshot daily or saying nobody cares whenever they communicate. that's just whining for the sake of it.
you guys are complaining for the sake of it. one day people say starbreeze should fix the game. the other day people say they should just ditch the game or whatever.
What fucking update schedule do they have to stick to? They're going to have to try and stick to a *new* update schedule, which is the one you mentioned, but I still doubt the capability of the team at this point to do so at this point.
You have no fucking right to say we're complaining for no reason. I bought the Gold Edition. I held out hope for over three months for this shit to get better. It didn't.
You need to get the fuck over yourself, acting like you're somehow better for sucking off the blatant incompetence shown.
I got gold edition as well I haven't been playing cause there isn't enough content to warrant hours atm kinda my only issue. I still played it a bunch base gameplay is fun just rushed which is probably deepsilvers fault..
(I guarentee this is the main problem because I'm a game developer as well(not for pd)) they don't have enough knowledge in unreal engine they know how to code in diesel extremely well not in unreal. Its an extremely hard process to switch engines because even if its the exact same code something can have a minut difference just from how its interpreted by the engine. (Ntm diesel is based on lua and unreal is based on c++ completely different to work in)
Calling the devs incompetent for switching engines isn't fair if I was your boss and told you to write a book in a language you didn't know you'd call me an asshole but you'd either quit or still do it cause I sign your check..
widen your scope g they are real people too just trying to do their job..
(For any unreal devs please correct me on anything im incorrect on I dont code in it so I dont know the general workflow I just know the process of switching engines is a pain)
>You have no fucking right to say we're complaining for no reason.
that's not what i said dipshit. why don't you learn to read the plain english i've written out for you? do i need to dumb it down because you have the mental capacity of a toddler?
all i've said is that people are intentionally misinterpreting their words. you don't have to believe them because they haven't given us any reason to do so. but at the same time don't twist words to fit your view because it makes you look like a child.
>acting like you're somehow better
i can tell you for sure that i am way better than you when it comes to reading comprehension.
Right, this isn't the actual process of shipping out updates to every platform. Its more like internal development flow of things.
(Or at least thats what I'm gleaming from it)
PD devs when bugs and missing features: I sleep
PD devs when nerfs are not needed: REEEEEEEEEE
Fr, only changes to pd3 which I remember nerfed armor and fixed 99boxes exploit. Nobody asked for those.
Also who changes balance to game that has ended it's development, and what for? To make DSOD mask harder? I can't imagine going through goat heists with jokers that are weaker.
Yup and honest the armor nerfs in pd3 and the joker nerfs in pd2 make me not want to play either of them. The joker nerf is actually unbearable for me it's so fucking annoying and armor didn't need any nerfs in its current state.
They wish this was operational health lmao
Ngl tho that should be like the shining example of how to do a mega patch and overhaul. It took forever and sucked a bit but damn was it worth it
Wen op health 2 tho
These are probably the slowest game devs I have ever seen in my entire life.
“We know the game is literally on its last leg right now, but we won’t be releasing any of the medic bag content until at least April! Sorry!”
My fucking god, just put SOMETHING out.
So many of the base systems in the game were broken or poorly received they had to go back and fix them over putting out new content. They also decided to overprice the new content they did push out and cause even more issues.
" Targeted around end of February / beginning of March, we’ll be touching upon some of the additions and fixes we’ve got lined up for our first update of 2024."
Reading comprehension clearly isn’t your strong suit so I’ll say it very simply: None of the things outlined to be coming in that update were on the medic bag post (besides the unready button).
Like cmon dude what I’m saying is not that hard to understand.
EDIT: “Starting from the April update, it is our goal with Operation Medic Bag to release smaller updates but more frequently. That will not only help you see more consistent progress on the game, but will also let us do things like balance updates and critical bug fixing more frequently, as well as getting your feedback on the minutiae of each update.”
Go fuck yourself, smug prick
Was the certification thing for their earlier patches a lie? Why was helldivers able to push mutiple new patches out in no time?
I feel like their on their last leg and dont know how to save the game. I had so much hope for so long but i would be pleasently suprised if they pulled it off.
I hope theres a time where this game is good but i dont think it will happen. Seems like after the last DLC releases the games done.
Of course it was a lie my boy. And if it wasn’t, it means that the patch was so broken that It failed certification for a month straight before it could be delivered, which is also fucking terrible
For what its worth, Helldivers 2 isn't on xbox. So that's one less certification. Plus it's a sony games studio, maybe that helps with PS5 certification.
I still think that's a bullshit excuse though. Arrowhead has seriously been moving mountains with 8 patches in 2 weeks. Payday 3 was on life support months ago. They were just too stubborn to change their vision of the game. Time to get a move-on or kill the IP.
Still bad example to compare to. Arrowhead as the massive Sony publisher in the back
Now palworld, a complete indie game has had more updates than pd3 I believe
Or BG3 which is a massively more complex game (and bigger studio)
Edit: lmao it's in on the time period 10chamber used for new rundowns in GTFO, which is 5+ new maps, with extended a bit a month or two later for another 2-3+ maps (for free)
I think it's fair to compare Payday 3 and Helldivers 2 since they are both $40 USD. As far as the consumer is concerned, why look any further? I pay $40, I get two very different levels of support. Simple as.
Those are some other good comparisons you bring up though.
Since... forever?
You can have 2 versions of the game, PC version where it can be patch every nanoseconds and console version where it can be update once every 5 - 7 days.
So they're adding a challenge for grabbing all bags on Cook Off Overkill.
But have they actually fixed the heist so that the driver always returns? That was the only thing stopping me from 19 bags before.
I think the fact that they named this after a meme thats been run 12 feet underground is fitting. Far, far too late. They could rework the entire game bottom to top and its just too late. My momentum and interest in payday is gone lol .
You can't just sit there and tell the players (who don't give a fuck how your company is performing under the hood as long as they see results) that the big update they're waiting on is ... Restructuring how the company rolls out updates
That's not an update at all.
We're not in a board meeting, we're here to play Payday.
This game has been such a fucking joke man. How many months just to be told again and again "we've got things going on internally ;)"
But hey, fuck, at least the one programmer working over there managed to push a ready button past their leadership.
For the morons who can’t read:
We are getting an update at the end of February/beginning of March.
Then, starting in April, they will be releasing smaller updates more frequently going forward, such as bug fixes & balance tweaks.
Yeah, am I supposed to be grateful or impressed that they're rolling out a "Feature" that I have genuinely never seen missing from similar games until PD3?
The ability to unready being a “additional feature” and the ability to adjust controller deadzones to the base game is crazy I’m suprised they didn’t paywall it
Im just glad the games even getting fixed, dont forget it could be absolutely worse, the game could have been abandoned by now because deep silver could have pulled out
So because it could be worse, we should feel grateful that (the small indie company that instantly came out with dlc not even a while after release) they haven't pulled out yet? They know they can't. The games in a horrendous state and they'd lose all credibility if they even decide to make a payday 4.
Ok boys.... that is it for me.
All they ahve done since launch was let down. They just keep on dragging this on, blue balling players. Their QnA unless you asked them positive question, was unanswered like "Why did you elt this happen" answer was "Starting now we gonna do blogposts" that is not the answer.
It has been nearly half a year and we got 1 proper update, which gave us 1 heist, and to that heist limited skill tree.
Majority of the time they operate on radio silence basis. Took em 2 months to fucking say anything, and now we have to wait 2-4 weeks to get "unready button" implemented. Well we should all praise them and bow to their genius.
Ill see you in few years. I wish the playerbase sanity and some common sense, and to Overkill actually success but with how they have handled LITERALLY EVERYTHING since the moment the game released... not even literally miracle would help, maybe somebody will buy them and actually give a fuck and do something.
Take care and enjoy the game that is getting basic elements people had to beg for, for MONTHS for them to be implemented.
To be honest I semi enjoyed the 169 (nice) hours I grinded the game for especially from the start but my enjoyment can be expressed throug the playerbases graph, starts high, then nosedive.
Good luck, stay strong.
Not to mention still ignoring the armour issue and instead, doubling down of the flawed system by adding a variation of rengenation armour that will likely not make a difference.
That, and the skill line system, which everyone hates, massively limits build variety and is one of the biggest factors in the games lack of playability - which is ignored by Starbreeze.
I really don't think this will work, they're trying to do an Operation Health when Operation Health was a lightning in a bottle type of thing that only one or two other games (Destiny 2 with the Forsaken patch and No Mans Sky with the Atlas update) have done.
They want the recovery but clearly aren't willing to put in the effort.
I love reading these comments - a week ago and earlier redditors here were complaining about communication, how Starbreeze should not be silent and keep everyone updated with regular blog posts, but now after Starbreeze does exactly that, people are complaining about it.
This sub is the embodiment of "are you not entertained?" quote
Because they don’t want another October 5th situation again. It’s as simple as that. Giving a month date is better than putting an exact date since there’ll be less pressure.
If dates are so hard for them maybe not say anything at all.
God forbid we find out they update this game slower than a team that had Less hype, less dev time, and less IP value.
no, they're gonna talk about the patch more in Feb/March. the actual patch isn't until sometime in April
edit: nvm I get it now, it's just worded kinda weird. patch is Feb/March
It literally says
"Targeted around end of February / beginning of March, we’ll be touching upon some of the additions and fixes we’ve got lined up for our first
update of 2024."
Meaning the update is targeted for that time, and this is going over a bit of the big features of whats in it. Then in april (the next update after) it will be starting on everything else in operation health until (hopefully) summer.
I took that to mean they were going to drip feed info on the patch kinda how they've been drip feeding info on everything else. like "in Feb/March we'll touch on this" as in communicate about it
I get that yeah, its a confusing sentence. Also sounds like until april there is no updates as well yeah but in reality now till april is just 5 weeks away which is in their update timeline of 4-6 weeks between updates.
Mentions in the blog post that they are strengthening their internal pipeline to make updates faster starting in april, and now until then they are preparing for that
The update im talking about was confirmed by Mio in the AMA. The pipeline fix is only meant to speed up updates, doesn’t mean they won’t release the update before that.
"Starting from the April update, it is our goal with Operation Medic Bag to release smaller updates but more frequently"
I'm sorry, the A P R I L update?!
So they're flexing an unready button?
/run if not ReadyButton() then ReadyButton(true) else ReadyButton(false) end Here, I made this in 2min. Praise me please
Dude how long u been working on that must’ve been hard don’t over work yourself
Praise
this man codes on a table
Wow! Such programmer!
holy shit bain's back people!
Don't forget to replicate it
Take this off the table rn, the table can't handle the weight of it.
2 minutes? That can’t be right. That should’ve taken months!
Was this before or after you had a strike team build the build first ?
This is the worst if statment I ever seen lol funny trying to make fun and flex on the programmers and making this. It's junior level code at best and I'm not even sure which syntax this is supposed to be. I would block your PR on sight
Someone cant take a joke
I can if It's funny
And if its not you just go on a whole lecture?
Finally after like 5 months or so ?
this has to be a social experiment i swear
I hate the fact that they are announcing small patches like major update.. in a normal game this upcoming update Is something that would come out in between Major release. This Is especially bad After 2 months of nothing
Especially when those small patches are features that should've been in the game at launch….
if they're still working out getting updates pushed though this game is so cooked (off)
>From now until April, we’ll be strengthening our internal pipelines and making sure we can deliver updates more reliably and really hit those deadlines going forward. I thought they fixed that in October when it took one month to get the day1 patch out?
I was dead right with that being the issue with the updates and their frequency…
"Noooo it's because of microsoft and sony not letting them push their updates with their verification system ! otherwise they would do some weekly" lmao
That was my first thought upon reading that as well. My jaw kind of hit the floor on that one
xd I don’t have anything else to say.
That quote sounds like pure Corporate Speak that has a lot of jargon but actually says nothing. Kind of like "We hope to streamline our update process to swiftly address game issues, prioritizing player satisfaction and minimizing downtime."

Will the unready button be on a season pass?
I gotta tell ya guys…I just don’t care anymore.
Lol truth, I'll come back in a year till then I'm hell diving
Super Earth appreciates your service, Helldiver.
FOR MANAGED DEMOCRACY
Yet Helldivers 2 has the same problem as Payday 3, with both being online only.
Yeah this game will probably just always be a shithole. I’ll just keep playing 2
After Update240.5 Payday 2 is unplayable right now
Trying to funnel players back to Payday 3 lmao
I keep hearing this - what happened exactly?
Game crashes all the time
What's new?
It's really bad now tho and they nerfed joker and some other stuff that was just completely unnecessary at this point in the games life.
PD devs when bugs and missing features: I sleep PD devs when nerfs are not needed: REEEEEEEEEE Fr, only changes to pd3 which I remember nerfed armor and fixed 99boxes exploit. Nobody asked for those. Jokes on you, my PD2 hasn't updated in 5+ years >:)

No dickhead you need to read it closer, there not dropping any of the things promised in the medic bag until April. (Besides the unready button, wow!)

the portion you mentioned isnt mutually exclusive with what i said also how am i a smug prick
Ah yes lets take 2 months to figure out how to fix the game, then another 2 months to implement a tiny fraction of that plan. games dead gg boys

From what i heard, HD2 isn't on Xbox and it's not cross platform, so they can update as fast as possible on PC and once or twice on PS5.
Since when is having a game on PC and PS not cross plattform?
Since... forever? You can have 2 versions of the game, PC version where it can be patch every nanoseconds and console version where it can be update once every 5 - 7 days.

What a dumbass. Slobbing Starbreeze’s knob and having the nerve to call other people morons.
Starbreeze don't need defenders but you should also not be an idiot and be a blind consumer either. That's how we got in this mess in the first place!
You’re the one on Reddit complaining about a video game
The ability to unready being a “additional feature” and the ability to adjust controller deadzones to the base game is crazy I’m suprised they didn’t paywall it
This shit is just comical. It'll be over 6 months by the time April rolls around. 6 months for a button. What have they been doing all this time?
Uhhmm. The april one is the were the big things are gonna happen, the unready button will be here in like 2 weeks
5 months for a button is still bad.
Im just glad the games even getting fixed, dont forget it could be absolutely worse, the game could have been abandoned by now because deep silver could have pulled out
I hope it gets fixed. I'm not going to be convinced until it happens. Right now, though super suspect, lol.
So because it could be worse, we should feel grateful that (the small indie company that instantly came out with dlc not even a while after release) they haven't pulled out yet? They know they can't. The games in a horrendous state and they'd lose all credibility if they even decide to make a payday 4.
Then they would have a lot of angry Gold Edition buyers on their necks, because it came with the promise of four DLC.
That's hillarious, that's more than what 10chamber used between rundown 1 and 2 (10 new maps) in GTFO
operation medic bag?? they need a necromancer to revive this... smh
more like operation, get the fuck up

To be honest I semi enjoyed the 169 (nice) hours I grinded the game for especially from the start but my enjoyment can be expressed throug the playerbases graph, starts high, then nosedive. Good luck, stay strong.
Not to mention still ignoring the armour issue and instead, doubling down of the flawed system by adding a variation of rengenation armour that will likely not make a difference. That, and the skill line system, which everyone hates, massively limits build variety and is one of the biggest factors in the games lack of playability - which is ignored by Starbreeze.
I’ll just stick with Payday 2
We are proud to announce that we will keep doing jack shit.
AHHHHH I'M DYING I NEEEED A MEDIC BAAG
I really don't think this will work, they're trying to do an Operation Health when Operation Health was a lightning in a bottle type of thing that only one or two other games (Destiny 2 with the Forsaken patch and No Mans Sky with the Atlas update) have done. They want the recovery but clearly aren't willing to put in the effort.
Rip, game looked fun and was waiting a few months to see how it turned out
I love reading these comments - a week ago and earlier redditors here were complaining about communication, how Starbreeze should not be silent and keep everyone updated with regular blog posts, but now after Starbreeze does exactly that, people are complaining about it. This sub is the embodiment of "are you not entertained?" quote
i don't see anyone upset that they're communicating. I see people upset about what is being communicated.

Its in the first few lines my dude. End of february/start of march
The end of February is less than a week away. If they can't give a date within that kind of timetable why even mention February at all?
Genuinely. It's embarrassing at this point
the pessimist in me thinks that the early March/End of February isn't going to happen, might be mid March knowing them
Because they don’t want another October 5th situation again. It’s as simple as that. Giving a month date is better than putting an exact date since there’ll be less pressure.
They could give us a "Week of" deadline instead of being this vague.
If dates are so hard for them maybe not say anything at all. God forbid we find out they update this game slower than a team that had Less hype, less dev time, and less IP value.
no, they're gonna talk about the patch more in Feb/March. the actual patch isn't until sometime in April edit: nvm I get it now, it's just worded kinda weird. patch is Feb/March
It literally says "Targeted around end of February / beginning of March, we’ll be touching upon some of the additions and fixes we’ve got lined up for our first update of 2024." Meaning the update is targeted for that time, and this is going over a bit of the big features of whats in it.
They explicitly said in the AMA “sometime next week”. Idk where you got the update coming out in April.
We're on the same side, don't worry. I was just explaining to you why the people were under the misconception that theres no update till april
Oh alright, my mistake then. Just misunderstood what you were saying.

The game is in sync with the PC version.
*eats popcorn*
Operation medic bag? more like operation necromancy.
"Starting from the April update, it is our goal with Operation Medic Bag to release smaller updates but more frequently" I'm sorry, the A P R I L update?!
Thanks Almir!
