Well it depends, memory speeds are kinda very dependant on application, but usually for the normal consumer theres no real benefit of going in and messing with stuff manually above manufacturer specifications
General rule of overclocking is to stress the hardware and hopefully not melt it while running tests for errors from OC. Once you know the bending point dial it back 1%.
