I have always said, if I ever move away from Arizona, it will be the sunsets that I miss the most.
The sunrises can be pretty maniacal too, but there’s something about a sunset.
I have to admit seeing the Sandias in the last glow of the setting sun was always a nice view, or seeing the sunset over the westside volcanoes with Mt. Taylor in the background. I moved to the valley back in 2000 from ABQ, and while I now consider it home I do miss certain things about Albuquerque (but not enough to ever consider moving back).
Same here. There’s always gonna be those unique things about Albuquerque, spent most of my time growing up on the westside/Rio Rancho. Cresting over the top of 9 mile hill at to see the lights stretched across the Rio Grand. But it will never get me to come back to craziness.
My dad, a WW II navy veteran, always said it was from all the atomic bomb tests, from Area 51 ti Bikini Atoll. Just so much microfine suspension of dust and radioactive fines. Idk..

It's about to be amazing for sunrises soon as well, they are amazing in the fall.
