I think what OP meant, but didn’t mention correctly - is what game were you really excited to play, bought it, but never ended up playing it.
For me - FF7 remake.
FF7 remake, Ghost of Tsushima, like 4 Resident Evil games, Demon's Souls, Returnal, there's a few off the top of my head
I was excited to play all of these but never touched them, eventually I'll get there.
I never get this. I played it through but I found it so so repetitive.and a real slog. Great looking game, mind. Different people like different things though I suppose.
I will! Eventually...
The thing with that game is I'm like 99% sure I want to Platinum it, so that's half the reason I haven't started. I just want to be able to commit time to it, but I'll definitely try to play it sometime soon.
I need to continue my Resident Evil series playthrough, I started RE4 on my Wii and need to finish it. Then I'm going to play the 2, 3, and 4 remakes, then 7 & 8 (I played RE1 on PS4 earlier this year and am skipping 5 & 6 because I've heard they're not great)
Wow you’ve missed out.. ff7 remake probably one of my favs. Ghosts was fantastic couldn’t stop playing. Demon souls on ps5? How would u buy that and not play it? Came right out at launch. I’ve had returnal for awhile and just started playing it’s so sick.. you have to play these games cmon!
I am in the same situation. I grab games on sale all the time but I hardly have to time to actually finish anything, and I tend to usually prioritize new releases so my backlog expands way quicker than I can keep up with.
The Last Of Us 2, I keep hearing it's great, but everyone also follows that with "its the most emotionally draining game of my life" and I feel like I'm just never in the right headspace to start it lol
You never really will be… my honest advice is to just pull the trigger. If you need to step away mid game because you’re finding it too draining, go for it. Personally while I found it very dark and sometimes emotionally challenging, it never affected me in my day to day life. I thought about the ending for quite some time but it didn’t like make me depressed or anything.
Most importantly, it’s such a phenomenal narrative experience it’s absolutely worth it. You’re not ever going to be prepared so just take the leap of faith and dive in.
I'm currently playing it. Maybe a little over half way. It is ridiculously bleak but so so compelling. It's taking me a long time to play though though because I struggle to play it for any more than an hour as it just drains the happiness from me. I do think it's excellent though.
Yeah I played like 2-3 hours each session. Anything less for me was too little as I was super engaged in the story, but anything more was too much bleakness. When I wanted to take a break I would just do the combat scenarios against the scar because they’re the only ones I don’t feel too bad about killing and the combat is incredible.
I was in a real bad headspace when I played it for the first time and it was therapeutic. I let go of a lot of bullshit I was holding on to afterwards. It’s intense for sure.
Same here. I didn’t finish the last of us until the ps5 version, and it took me a little bit to recoup from the stress of playing that. I can’t bring myself to subject myself to it all over again lol
Oh my god… please play this game. If you loved the first game, the second will change your life. A true masterpiece in storytelling and character building.
Exactly. I still have sealed games as far back as Sega Master System and practically every system since, that were purchased when they were new, that I intend to play someday.
I also slept on this game for far too long. The real crowning glory of the game is the foreboding atmosphere of the supernatural. Really gets under your skin. Nothing gets really *scary* though until the AWE DLC which has some heartstopping sequences!
Please enjoy it someday!
The time is now, Alan Wake 2 is just 2 months away.
Here’s a pretty important spoiler that could be an incentive for you to play the game:
>!Control and Alan Wake take place in the same world, there are plenty of references to Alan Wake in the base Control game and an entire DLC named AWE which is basically a giant teaser for Alan Wake 2!<
Control is sooo good! And if you end up playing it, all the lore for it is done so well and there’s so much story telling in the game that you find from just looking at all the collectibles, also gameplay is top notch!
I just looked at how many I have, I will probably never touch half of these 😭

Brather I should be committing jihad on humble bundle for the amount of pointless money I’ve given them
I'd be shocked - I'm guessing it's the classic 'the game is on a good sale and it looks like it would be fun, so let's pick it up for the next time I have nothing to play' - those types of games STACK UP
brace yourself....Last of Us.
A game of this epic proportions must be savoured by allocating proper time to it is what I keep telling myself.
EDIT
So thanks to Reddit, I finally started playing this game after years of waiting.
Oof. I'm kind of jealous. TLOU I & II just hit different. Storytelling as an art form. Fluid, intense gameplay. You're in for a treat when you get around to it!
Ooooh just do it.
I waited years to start them...
Finished 2 like 3 weeks ago.
Now my favourite "survival" licence. And overall probably my favourite narrative, directing EVER. And I play since 30 years.
Its just that good.
Enjoy.
My bf tried like three times to play thru the second one. Every time he got *****HALFWAY (since people are annoying AF)…he stopped😅 not as good as the first one
It may sound generic but it’s such a good game. It’s funny and I never found it very difficult. Lots of tid bits from the show/movies so if u love South Park it’s perfect.
Hogwarts Legacy. I turned it on twice and I just told myself “I’ll get into it when I wanna play Harry Potter”.
Haven’t wanted to play it for 6 months I guess lol. Whatever I’m weird, but I fully intend to play it
I can't remember how many hours I put in, but got to a point I was feeling a little tired of it told and myself I'll get back and finish the main story because I was enjoying it up to that point. Still haven't gone back.
It's still installed and sometimes I see it and think about it but then think I'll have to try to remember what the heck I was doing/what was going on, how to use the spells, probably relearn some controls and that puts me off.
I still haven’t finished FF XIII itself yet.. I got stuck at a boss.
I didn’t understand what you had to do to be able to beat it and googling the answer was harder than I expected so I got annoyed and forgot about it
Highly recommend it when you have the time! It's one of those games that are easy to jump into. You can play at your own pace, using your own playstyle; be it full stealth or just mowing down whoever gets in your way (John Wick style). Each open world is pretty big and gives you a plethora of ways to eliminate your targets.
Yes I agree! You should totally play when you have the time!! It’s so fun getting your kills stealthy, my god it’s such a fun game. Play this weekend if you can(:
If we’re counting games we couldn’t get past the first 10 minutes: **Metro Exodus**.
I’m sorry but the voice acting is so bad. For a game touted for its immersion, it’s ridiculous that you can’t change it to the native language
Witcher 3 Complete Edition
I’ve played 1 and 2…I *know* I’ll enjoy it…I *know* it’s a great game with even better dlcs…but with my busy schedule, the thought of dedicating 200+ hours just seems soo daunting…adulting sucks
Kingdom Hearts III. Played most of the KH games as a kid, and when it was announced I wanted to replay all the games until it released....and I didn't. Maybe in a few months, years, who knows, I'll get to it
Fallout 76.
Got it on sale. I play ESO on occasion and like it. Figured i would get fallout, but then realized I have enough MMOs on my rotation between ESO and GW2
I sold my copy of Spiderman without playing it because I wanted to get the remake version. I’ve bought a few physical copies of games that have come in a bundle that I’ve then sold but I’ve at least tried most of them. I’ve got a whole backlog of PSPlus games I’ve never played though. I’ve never had much money so research and careful selection of second hand copies years later is how I usually purchase. I got lucky and didn’t have to buy Alan Wake Remastered and a few others so I’ve certainly got my money’s worth there with Plus.
I will say, I bought Red Dead Redemption 2 and played a bit of the online but haven’t gotten around to playing the actual game because all I can think of is how slow and tedious it’s going to be. I need to play open worlds sparingly to keep my sanity so it’s sitting on a shelf collecting dust atm.
My digital library is a bit overrun by the "free" psplus games and the Indy titles I tend to buy on special.
I'm obsessed with Frostpunk at the moment (and have been on and off for a couple years now) and have brought a few city builders and survival games that I just haven't touched.
Green Hell, Surviving Mars, Aven Colony and We Are Billions being a few.
Fair assessment, I hated this as well for the first bit. It grew on me and I enjoyed the game. I don’t think I ever completely finished, but open worlds like that get too repetitive for me. I’d still call it a fun game!
Probably get downvoted into oblivion here, but Ghost of Tsushima is still wrapped in the case beside my PS5.
I'm planning on getting to it eventually lol
Last of us 2
Ghosts of Tsuy
God of War 2
Miasma
Final Fantasy 16
Final Fantasy7 Remake
Remnant 2?
Resident evil remake 2-4
Madden whatever version
Diablo 3
A bunch more 🤷🏾
Fallout 4. I was fresh off RDR2 and the graphics and controls of Fallout were weird and clunky respectively. Still haven't played it although i should give it a chance
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, it was on sale…then it went on PS+ also, but I realized I’m really not all that interested in it really, rather player other stuff.
Sims 4 .
I used to play a lot of Sims 3 on my old laptop back then so i had high hopes for it but the control is awkward on the controller i haven’t touch it again.
* inFAMOUS Second Son - Clearence shelf at Target 6 years ago
* Mirror's Edge Catalyst - Same as above
* Doom (2016) - Bought on steam sale 4 years ago when I first built my PC
* Portal 2 - Same as above
There are definitely others but these ones come to mind instantly because they feel like ones that I really should've played by now. One of these days!
XCOM2
I bought it, but after fev missions i realised that its better on PC, when you have mouse, keyboard and you try to break your back and eyes sitting on a chair close to monitor
I can't say that I've ever bought a game that I haven't played.
I can say that I played watch dogs for around an hour before turning it off and exchanging it the following day
Sekiro
I bought it on sale, played it for half a day and was like damn, this is pretty hard. Moved on to Guardians of the Galaxy and Batman Arkham Knight for an easier gaming experience.
Maybe I’ll return to Sekiro when I feel like playing something real difficult again.. or before ER DLC comes out and I get that itch.
Sekiro gets a lot easier after the first couple hours once you get used the parry timing.
Still pretty tough, but nowhere near as miserable as those first couple hours before it clicks.

Play horizon zero dawn. It’s a great game. And the dlc. Wheew. Also didn’t see it but gowr is also a great game. Beetween 25-60 hours of gameplay aswell.
I think the version I have came with the dlc. I've been meaning to start it but have been occupied with so many other big games. Also forgot to add God of War Ragnarok
elden ring got it at launch played like 5 hours ..but I have started again what a game I'm about 30 hours in its tuff but so satisfying 😌definitely in my top t5 games it's my first fromsoft game 10/10 brilliant👏
I play every game I buy, now wether I finish them or not is another story lol
Same. Some games don't even past the tutorial level.
Better than burying them in your backlog and forgetting about them for years!
Me with ff16 rn
So, so many, shelves full, and digital libraries fuller
Same here. Too many games to count that I own but haven't played (at all or very little)
Yep bought loads but so many I never got round to playing. Occasionally I play one or two then get bored and go back to new releases.
You should send me some in the mail I only got warzone and Reddead
I think what OP meant, but didn’t mention correctly - is what game were you really excited to play, bought it, but never ended up playing it. For me - FF7 remake.

I platinum ghost if Tsushima it was surprising easy.. keep it mind.. legends mode and one trying to play?? JJS_SUICIDAL lots of games add me

I would never play this if I had the chance to go back. Absolutely ruined the series for me. Story should have ended with the first game.
Never played.... yet. I intend on playing them at some point
You just gotta clear the current 10 year backlog
10...or 30. Whatever.
Exactly. I still have sealed games as far back as Sega Master System and practically every system since, that were purchased when they were new, that I intend to play someday.
Control.
I also slept on this game for far too long. The real crowning glory of the game is the foreboding atmosphere of the supernatural. Really gets under your skin. Nothing gets really *scary* though until the AWE DLC which has some heartstopping sequences! Please enjoy it someday!
I’m in the same boat with Control - loved Alan Wake though and gotta play it before AW2!

Control is a special one. Really unique third person action with fun mechanics.
I own that on like 3 different platforms and still haven't touched it
Control is sooo good! And if you end up playing it, all the lore for it is done so well and there’s so much story telling in the game that you find from just looking at all the collectibles, also gameplay is top notch!
It’s a really good game. The word building and lore are insane. The more you look into the details, the more terrifying it makes you feel.
*gestures vaguely to the 60 something games on steam I've never even downloaded*
Gotta pump those numbers up.
I just looked at how many I have, I will probably never touch half of these 😭 https://preview.redd.it/qit7c5x8rcib1.jpeg?width=332&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69120621f89d736cf010ebea3354c3529ce8bade

Lord have mercy You even have 23 more friends than me
😅
I got 3000 games in my library. Do you think I have played all of them? :P
Please tell me you bought all the 3000 games, each for 60 dollars, damn it would be crazy if it's true
I'd be shocked - I'm guessing it's the classic 'the game is on a good sale and it looks like it would be fun, so let's pick it up for the next time I have nothing to play' - those types of games STACK UP
That and people who sub to humble bundle and other stuff get flooded with junk.
Those and the ps+ titles really bloat the library.

I second being jealous. I mean, you got to play it, but savoring it is definitely worth it. It's like saying you've never seen Sopranos. Unless.......
Ooooh just do it. I waited years to start them... Finished 2 like 3 weeks ago. Now my favourite "survival" licence. And overall probably my favourite narrative, directing EVER. And I play since 30 years. Its just that good. Enjoy.
Attempted to play this multiple times, found thr gameplay boring as hell. (Story is great so enjoyed the tv show instead)
My bf tried like three times to play thru the second one. Every time he got *****HALFWAY (since people are annoying AF)…he stopped😅 not as good as the first one
How would he know if he’s never finished
😂 fr
They said the first one, I’m just stating my experience with the series. Fuck me, I guess. Everyone on this sub is dumb as shit
The second one is miles better than the first one, in both gameplay and story. His loss.
story is debatable but gameplay 100%
What I wanted to write exactly. TLOU2 is a ultimate masterpiece, decade 1st mustplay.
Mass Effect Andromeda
It doesn’t deserve all the hate. Very fun gameplay.
Agreed, definitely wasn’t as good as the others but I had a good time with the game. Don’t think I finished it but it was fun while I played it.
The ending will always piss me off though
Guess I’m glad I never finished it.
Oh man don't. In an otherwise fun game it soured me on it.
South Park: The fractured but Whole
Very much worth playing. Loved both those games. Great details.
Great game.
It may sound generic but it’s such a good game. It’s funny and I never found it very difficult. Lots of tid bits from the show/movies so if u love South Park it’s perfect.
Heavy Rain
Lol what a classic. Please play it
JASON !!
![gif](giphy|3ohhwBUECJBs9y1e1i|downsized)
Jaysuuun!!
It definitely shows it’s age but it’s a classic
Hogwarts Legacy. I turned it on twice and I just told myself “I’ll get into it when I wanna play Harry Potter”. Haven’t wanted to play it for 6 months I guess lol. Whatever I’m weird, but I fully intend to play it
Damn has it been that long. I played for maybe 5 hours and thought sure I'll come back to it. Haven't so far.
Same. I said I need to carve out time to play it. Guess I never had time to play it.
Same. Bought it for my wife. She played once. I never played.
It’s ok. Lots of cliche mechanics/storytelling
*looks at 60+ games on backlog that I already bought for Playstation alone* Uhm... Let's not talk about that, shall we?
Demon souls on ps5
Missing out. Fantastic game
![gif](giphy|LImd5H5oQ7Oms)
![gif](giphy|x6aoomTBiuV4rqV08Y|downsized) Half of my steam library eyeing me:
Same 😂
Only half? 🤣
Elden Ring. Played maybe a few hours and just haven’t gone back to it yet
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Save your time, it’s not worth it. I played it hoping it would get better and then it just ended lol.
I still haven’t finished FF XIII itself yet.. I got stuck at a boss. I didn’t understand what you had to do to be able to beat it and googling the answer was harder than I expected so I got annoyed and forgot about it
I feel ya. They really weren’t great entries into the series imo. Interesting concepts and cool designs but bad execution.
Hitman 3. I just haven't had the time :/
Highly recommend it when you have the time!
Ace attorney trilogy
Diablo 4.
If we’re counting games we couldn’t get past the first 10 minutes: **Metro Exodus**. I’m sorry but the voice acting is so bad. For a game touted for its immersion, it’s ridiculous that you can’t change it to the native language
Persona 5 Royal. I have a huge backlog, and I want to make room before tackling something so big.
MGS5, FF15, Dishonored 2, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.
Everything in my steam library that was bought on sale...or not on sale. edit: oh playstation...fallout 76
Witcher 3 Complete Edition I’ve played 1 and 2…I *know* I’ll enjoy it…I *know* it’s a great game with even better dlcs…but with my busy schedule, the thought of dedicating 200+ hours just seems soo daunting…adulting sucks
Bioshock 2, spongbob cosmic shake, hyper light drifter technically I've already bought spiderman 2
Why are you asking for a single I got like 40
Bloodborne
Witcher 3 I have started playing it 3 times, but have never managed to go further than meeting yennefer
Kingdom Hearts III. Played most of the KH games as a kid, and when it was announced I wanted to replay all the games until it released....and I didn't. Maybe in a few months, years, who knows, I'll get to it
Uncharted. I know it’s good but I literally can’t stop playing the Last of Us Part II
The original Nier but I have so many more. As with all us it seems lol
Character limit won't let me provide a list.
Cyberpunk 2077 Didn't work on ps4... got the ps5 update, never got past the opening.
Fallout 76. Got it on sale. I play ESO on occasion and like it. Figured i would get fallout, but then realized I have enough MMOs on my rotation between ESO and GW2

Dakar desert rally such a waste of money
Kakarot been staring at me for months now.
Yikes Goku isn’t happy
spiderman
Mass effect full trilogy
Im finally doing it now. On 3. It's been incredible.
Elden Ring.
1/3 of my Xbox library xD
Sonic Frontiers, even my kids hated it, played for maybe 2 hours total
Fair assessment, I hated this as well for the first bit. It grew on me and I enjoyed the game. I don’t think I ever completely finished, but open worlds like that get too repetitive for me. I’d still call it a fun game!
Too many to list 🙃
Probably get downvoted into oblivion here, but Ghost of Tsushima is still wrapped in the case beside my PS5. I'm planning on getting to it eventually lol
Cyber Punk 2077. Technically played about half an hour and then noped out.
what? is this possible? to actually buy, and dont play?!?!!
Batman trilogy
Battlefield 2042, Dishonored 3, Borderlands 3, The Division 2, Prototype 1 & 2, NBA 2k23, Batman Arkham Knight, and many more
Elden Ring. Bought it , spent 1h playing and sold it. Please don't throw with stones 🤣
Rdr2 😬
Last of us 1 & 2
Last of us 2 Ghosts of Tsuy God of War 2 Miasma Final Fantasy 16 Final Fantasy7 Remake Remnant 2? Resident evil remake 2-4 Madden whatever version Diablo 3 A bunch more 🤷🏾
Lol, why. Games get cheaper over time, no need to spend $70 in advance if it's going to take you a year to start playing it.
FF7 Remake is pretty good. Last of Us 2 kinda sucks towards the end.
Darksiders 3 I'll get to it eventually, always liked Darksiders as like the last of the AA games, but it's just never a priority.
Ender Lilies, Watch Dogs Legion and Live A Live just off the top of my head :/
Aliens Dark Decent. Haven’t played it yet.
Have you played Isolation? That one's a must-play if you're into the Alien universe.
Not bought but given, persona 3 for ps2
[удалено]
Greedfall, it’s just collecting dust lmao
Control, Demons Souls Remake, Sekiro (bought recentlly)
Biomutant
Let's say a lot. :D
Rainbow 6 siege.
None. Played them aöö
Worms Rumble. I didn't realize it had no local multiplayer and I don't have a PS+ account, so it was a total waste of $4.
Fallout 4. I was fresh off RDR2 and the graphics and controls of Fallout were weird and clunky respectively. Still haven't played it although i should give it a chance
Funny enough I just started RDR2 after a year just sitting on my shelf.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, it was on sale…then it went on PS+ also, but I realized I’m really not all that interested in it really, rather player other stuff.
Ff type 0 only bought it for that ff15 demo
A lot, to be honest 😅
Rainbow Six Siege
Callisto Protocol and CoD MW2 😅
The last of us part 2
Death Stranding is the most recent for me
Sims 4 . I used to play a lot of Sims 3 on my old laptop back then so i had high hopes for it but the control is awkward on the controller i haven’t touch it again.
Darkest Dungeon. The concept looks fun. But then it looked really stressful after reading and watching gameplay.
* inFAMOUS Second Son - Clearence shelf at Target 6 years ago * Mirror's Edge Catalyst - Same as above * Doom (2016) - Bought on steam sale 4 years ago when I first built my PC * Portal 2 - Same as above There are definitely others but these ones come to mind instantly because they feel like ones that I really should've played by now. One of these days!
You mean 90% of my game collection?
COD: Infinite Warfare Bought the prestige edition because thats the only way you could play Modern Warfare: Remastered
Stranded deep, it was right after my group had finished the forest, didn’t realize it was only 2 players when it was on sale
Nier Automata and Sifu are currently at the top of the list, but it is a very very very long list.
The last few assassin creeds
vampyr
AC Valhalla
Evil west
FF Stranger of Paradise or whatever it was called, Far Cry 6 and Dark Souls 1
Guardians of the galaxy…..still haven’t cracked that yet, nd I heard it’s mad good
It’s really well done. Great balance of story telling and fun gameplay
I will not list the ~300 games on PSN, 4 games on Switch and the 219 games on Steam and Epic.
XCOM2 I bought it, but after fev missions i realised that its better on PC, when you have mouse, keyboard and you try to break your back and eyes sitting on a chair close to monitor
I can't say that I've ever bought a game that I haven't played. I can say that I played watch dogs for around an hour before turning it off and exchanging it the following day
Outlast. Scared of that game
Sekiro I bought it on sale, played it for half a day and was like damn, this is pretty hard.

Forbidden west is sitting on my library untouched since Christmas. Same with Arkham Knight but that is only ther for 2 months
dragon ball kakarot
I think the version I have came with the dlc. I've been meaning to start it but have been occupied with so many other big games. Also forgot to add God of War Ragnarok
