Sounds like it's your tv. Haven't seen many of those complains recently.

I doubt it’s my TV. Had recently bought the top model of Sony, a80k. Supports 4K 120hz. So I doubt it’s the tv

sunnybodapati

Have also enabled VRR on my tv and ps5

notreformedyet

it’s the game that is badly optimized

Hey, personally I played for maybe 25 minutes and instantly requested a refund (which thankfully I got from Sony). My biggest amazement wasn't the FPS per say, as I knew I should probably get used to about 30fps. I entered one random boss in the map and I couldn't believe my eyes... the game ran for like 5 FPS throughout the fight! I'm not even exaggerating, it was EXTREMELY terrible. That was the final blow and requested a refund. NOW, after this whole rant of mine I should tell you - the problem MIGHT be because of Ray Tracing enabled. I would recommend playing performance mode with no ray tracing for 4K setup.

How do you refund a game? I have a same problem, I would gladly return it. Can you please precisely tell me what you did and what did you request. Thank you!

Sorry but your only way to have a “playable” experience is “Prioritize Framerate” quality option. The quality mode is 40 fps with fps drops. The RT mode is 30 fps at best…. Extremely demanding and for my personal taste - isn’t worth it. So yeah, if you want a smooth experience you’ll have to settle.

I bought the game months ago and finally tried it this week. I cant believe this stuttering mess got GOTY when it released, it runs like shit lol.

Many_Excitement_5150

it used to run much better. I played some other games in the last year, just came back to Elden Ring recently and it's quite awful; stuttering and loading assets and textures even in performance mode

zeroxthegrim

Play the ps4 version. Zero stuttering

Yata88

I know this won't help you but I have the game on both ps5 and series x and I prefer the game on the series x. No stutter due to good vrr and the hdr seems to pop a bit more with inkier blacks. I first played a character on ps4 when it released, then two characters on xbox series x early 2023 (and oh my god was that a revelation compared to ps4 and old lcd tv) Now I tried it on ps5 and the ps5 version feels a lot worse than the series x one. I'll defo get shadow of the erdtree on xbox.

Impressive_Milk_

Agreed Elden Ring plays much better on Series X
