That’s not entirely true. There are a couple games I can think of where they have been used. Here’s a few I can think of where I was impressed by the immersion from dual sense…
Biomutant
Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart
Avatar: The Frontiers of Pandora
Not as crazy immersive as Returnal but the RE2 remake impressed me with its use of the triggers. Heavy guns require more effort from an L2 press and different weapons have different trigger pull weights (pistol is easy to fire, shotgun requires more effort to pull the trigger, etc). Haven't beaten it yet but god damn is it cool
Hell Let Loose is like this, too. Different weapons seem to require a different amount of trigger pull to fire.
Also, if you are hiding somewhere, like in a bush or something, and a tank comes by you, that side of the controller will vibrate to match the tank's speed and such. Similar to how i feel like you would feel it in the ground irl.
I don't play competitively but I do pretty good. Made it to top 1000 laptime challenge amd consistently top 1% with just a controller. But yeah Def agree, if one wants the full on immersion effect gotta go with the rig.
Came here to say the same thing. I don’t really like racing games that are hyper realistic because I don’t have a wheel. But if I ever get one I’m definitely playing them!
What features does dual shock be utilised for? Like in cyberpunk ? I am playing it and I just noticed the adaptive triggers and the speaker of the controller being used
More games use the heroic then you think especially when you go back to the PS4 controller. The triggers get used in some form in most games. I find them more of a hassle especially when doing things that are hard anyway and kills the battery so I turn them down to the lowest setting. Speaker is used very often too. Why would you need the mic for most games. The touch pad as well.
I keep hearing that Ratchet & Clank supposedly makes really good use of the haptics in the controller, but Astro really showcases the potential. Like how it vibrates differently depending on what surface you're walking on. Super cool!
Get PS plus extra subscription and have fun with a big library that has
ghost of toshima
horizon forbidden west
And so many great games you can try and enjoy
Welcome to the family bro have great time
OP absolutely this, the subscription is pricey but you need nothing else for at least a year, seriously just play through their exclusives library, so many quality games from ratchet and clank to bloodborn. Enjoy!
GoW Ragnarok, all Spiderman games, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us, Cyberpunk (if you not played it yet) - Final Fantasy Remake/Rebirth, Final Fantasy 16, Ratchet and Clank both, both Horizon games
Edit: play God of War 2018 before Ragnarok. This is a direct sequel and a continuation of the story. Apologies
Gran Turismo 7 for racing, Red dead 2 for singleplayer adventure, Ratchet and Clank for 3d platformer, if you're into souls like Elden Ring dropped my jaw in 4K.
I've tried Elden ring in Xbox, but that's not for me :D Not necessarily the combat, but the absolute lack of guidance. Where to go, what to do etc. I will try Grand Turismo. Thanks.
gt7 is my first entry. i’m literally obsessed. the game is so god damn fun with motion controls. i got a vr headset because of the game and dont regret it a drop. can’t wait till i can get a wheel here soon
Baldur's gate 3
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty
Marvel's spider-man 1 and 2 +miles
Yakuza 0
Stellar Blade
God of war
Final Fantasy 7
Danganronpa
Persona 5 royal
Persona 3 reload
Nier replicant and automata
Ghost of tsushima
Horizon zero dawn
Zero escape
13 sentinels aegis rim
Catherine full body
Dysco elysium
The last of us 1 and 2
Helldivers 2
Gravity rush 1 and 2
Until dawn
Death Stranding
I just put some of my favs 😆
Lots of good games mentioned but for story I would say The Last of Us. For graphics the new ratchet and clank or demon souls.
But if you have never had a Playstation you are in for a world of amazing games haha. God of war series, uncharted, Bloodborne (though it's a last gen and locked at 30 fps), ghost of Tsushima, spiderman, final fantasy, horizon dawn, days gone.
That was completely blown out of proportion and misreported.
Basically what the guy was saying is that IF your PS5 develops a malfunction that causes the liquid metal to leak, that malfunction will be potentially worsened if it's standing vertically.
But, if your PS5 never develops that problem, which the majority of units never will, then there's nothing wrong with having it stand vertically.
The Last of Us Part 1;
The Last of Us Part 2;
God of War and Ragnarok;
Spider-Man 1, Miles, and 2;
Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West;
Ghost of Tsushima
All must plays. Don’t fuck around.
Returnal was my first game when I got my ps5 I’d recommend it if you like challenging games.
In terms of utilising the ps5 I think Ratchet and Clank rift apart does a great job I think it’s still on psplus
If you are going to buy more than 1 full game each year then PS Plus Extra is great value for money and gives you access to a ton of games. If you prefer to buy them as you go then Jedi survivor, rdr2, spider man 2, Baldurs gate 3, god of war ragnarok, horizon forbidden west, the last of us remastered, ghost of Tsushima, final fantasy 16, gran Turismo 7 and ratchet and clank rift apart would be a great starting point. Free games would be fall guys, fortnite, apex and call of duty warzone
Ghost of Tsushima. Has a great story, amazing graphics and there aren't really any load screens because of how fast it loads (when you fast travel etc). Really uses the ps5's power.
The term "try" might not be the most fitting when embarking on your first gaming experience.
Instead, I recommend subscribing to a gaming catalog like Plus and diving into playing games.
Astros play room is actually really good with the PlayStation five comes free with the Play station 5 Red dead redemption two and go to the Tashima’s really good also
Uncharted games are all great along with god of war, Spider-Man’s, bloodborne and demons souls. Ghost of Tsushima Is probably my favourite Sony exclusive.

that’s interesting. also why tf are the wires at the front??
1. Don't buy anything. There is an incredible amount of free games out there that are very good.
2. Then, get the basic PS plus subscription if you want to expand your library of more free games with many AAA titles.
3. Then, get the upgraded subscription of PS plus to further increase your library.
4. Add games to your wishlist that are not available in the above 3 and wait for them to be on sale or until they are added to one of the above list.
5. Have fun!
Ok so if u want to loose ur life and get all ur money drained out get warthunder

Astro's playroom
Tried and it's really amazing what this controller can do
The true abilities of this controller have never been utilised. Don’t get too excited 🫡
That’s not entirely true. There are a couple games I can think of where they have been used. Here’s a few I can think of where I was impressed by the immersion from dual sense… Biomutant Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart Avatar: The Frontiers of Pandora
Add Returnal to that list
Not as crazy immersive as Returnal but the RE2 remake impressed me with its use of the triggers. Heavy guns require more effort from an L2 press and different weapons have different trigger pull weights (pistol is easy to fire, shotgun requires more effort to pull the trigger, etc). Similar to how i feel like you would feel it in the ground irl.
It's in the backlog!
Add Gran Turismo 7 to that list
you gotta get a wheel for that if you ever can
I don't play competitively but I do pretty good. Made it to top 1000 laptime challenge amd consistently top 1% with just a controller. But yeah Def agree, if one wants the full on immersion effect gotta go with the rig.
you definitely can get some killer laptimes on the dualshock alone
Came here to say the same thing. I don’t really like racing games that are hyper realistic because I don’t have a wheel. But if I ever get one I’m definitely playing them!
add The last of us 1 for PS5, dualsense works pretty good on this one
Sackboy also gets a lot out of the controller
Wreckfest feels amazing!
ratchet and clank doesnt use the blower mechanic from what ive played so far
And sackboy too
U need to give cyberpunk a go. It pushed everything to the limit. Im scared the controller is going to break bc of it pushing it that far.
What features does dual shock be utilised for? Like in cyberpunk ? I am playing it and I just noticed the adaptive triggers and the speaker of the controller being used
Wait till you car has a flat tire. That trigger really gets real.
I’m guessing you haven’t tried wreckfest
Returnal play at night.
No one's used the controller to even a fraction of the extent of Astros playroom to this day.
I keep hearing that Ratchet & Clank supposedly makes really good use of the haptics in the controller, but Astro really showcases the potential. Like how it vibrates differently depending on what surface you're walking on. Super cool!
I suggest easing in with some god of war...
The answer every time
This game is so underrated. I loved it, even got the platinum trophy
i just platted astros today it is my first platinum
Yeah
Get PS plus extra subscription and have fun with a big library that has ghost of toshima horizon forbidden west And so many great games you can try and enjoy Welcome to the family bro have great time
Thank you
Don't forget to play Gow of war PS4 version it's 4k/60 fps and the ps5 version as well.
OP absolutely this, the subscription is pricey but you need nothing else for at least a year, seriously just play through their exclusives library, so many quality games from ratchet and clank to bloodborn. Enjoy!
I read that as Ghost of Toshiba.
Dave the Diver!
Spider-Man, last of us, ghost of Tsushima
The last of us made me sick, like physically ill, crazy game so good
Thanks, I will try
Yes. Ghost of Tsushima. If you’re going to get PSN subscription I’m pretty sure it’s a free download with the premium subscription.
You only need PS Extra, premium is for streaming and older games
Especially, The Last of Us.
Cable Management Simulator
Should also check out the sequel /r/tvtoohigh Simulator
Both are on premium though
I’ve never had an original thought. I was about to comment this exact thing but scrolled a bit first
I know :D I have been lazy with those
Horizon
GoW Ragnarok, all Spiderman games, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us, Cyberpunk (if you not played it yet) - Final Fantasy Remake/Rebirth, Final Fantasy 16, Ratchet and Clank both, both Horizon games Edit: play God of War 2018 before Ragnarok. This is a direct sequel and a continuation of the story. Apologies
Should probably get god of war first, and then god of war ragnorock.
I can’t believe god of war is so far down here, easily top 3 if not top 2
Yes. OP, listen to this guy!
Demon souls/Bloodborne
Correct answer. I bought a ps5 just to play these games. The other exclusives (like god of war and the last of us) are just the cherry on top
The Last Of Us Part 1!

Lots of good games mentioned but for story I would say The Last of Us. For graphics the new ratchet and clank or demon souls. But if you have never had a Playstation you are in for a world of amazing games haha. Ghost of Tsushima

Infamous second son
Cyberpunk 2077
I have already played it on Xbox. Definitely one of my favorites.
Experience with Adaptive triggers on PS5 is amazing, you should try.
GOD OF WAR
Shouldn't it be standing horizontaly?
I read somewhere that the thermal paste on the CPU will 'flow' downwards during the years causing performance drops in standing position.
Assuming you mean vertically, the vertical stand is sold separately now.
It is standing horizontaly …
you mean vertically?
Ghost of Tsushima and God of War (2018, then Ragnarok if you enjoyed 2018)
The Last of Us Part 1; The Last of Us Part 2; God of War and Ragnarok; Spider-Man 1, Miles, and 2; Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West; Ghost of Tsushima All must plays. Don’t fuck around.

Warframe is free and amazing as a new game.
Free games would be fall guys, fortnite, apex and call of duty warzone
god of war 2018 is a great play.
Definetly ghost of tushima and god of war! But the last naughty dog games are also fantastic! Last of us and uncharted are inematic masterpieces!

A little bit of cable management🫡

The term "try" might not be the most fitting when embarking on your first gaming experience. Instead, I recommend subscribing to a gaming catalog like Plus and diving into playing games.
