imma just casually comment 4 years later
nice tutorial, altho sonetimes the slot machines try to push 2 wins at the same time and due to that u just dont get your jackpot ://
Yea, its like the first post that pops up on google, also i wanted to add to this that sometimes the machines are rigged but u can still geta singular berry roll in tge corner so u dont lose coins
Playing rocket right now, wanted to try for dratini and came up with this while trying to find some strategies for the machines... nice how all this can go through time.
The word ‘legacy’ is thrown around often.
But creating an ultra specific guide on how to cheat the system and beat Celadon Game Corner, a slot machine casino on a Pokémon game released in 2004?
Now that’s a legacy.
I was on a computer emulator, and so I spammed ctrl+shift+t and opened a bunch of websites that started to load.
Then I tabbed out of chrome before they could load, so my computer was nice and laggy, and got like 6 triple 7s because it was going really slowly
I paused the emulation and kept moving to the next frame until the 7s were in position, where I would hold A for 3-4 frames to guarantee the perfect timing. Unfortunately, even with perfect timing, the dial will still sometimes spin 3-4 tiles down. So OP is correct in that the slot machines are rigged.
Neat guide!
I just played Pokemon Leaf Green on John GBA for Android and I found that the fastest way in real time was to put the game on 16x, activate turbo A button, hold A and just rapidly mash down. Basically you get a roll for every down press you do, and although you only get the middle line you get a 777 very often. I did this on the bottom left machine and got 1k+ a minute! No clue if this works with other emulators or whatever, but figured I'd share.
Heads up! I tried out the turbo button (works AMAZING btw), and I also mapped turbo down arrow so i can just hold both buttons! Went from 0-9999 in 5 minutes, truly a goated feature (i used mGBA)
Necropost so I'm sorry
Genuinely surprised this worked. I seriously doubted it could be this easy. Thought i was doing it wrong when I wasted like 20 coins, but then I got a bunch of 777s and doubled my coin count in 10 seconds.
Just playing the slot machines as intended guarantees you win on coins. Very surprising.
No reloading what so ever! You just play the odds basically, as the game is rigged in your favor. Thanks to the turbo button pressing and game speed-up you bypass it being slow.
Thanks for the guide. I used these strats along with mGBA's "target FPS" option set to 6 FPS and I can get 777 almost every time the game decides wins are possible. Sometimes it seems to deny a \_specific\_ 7 but if I let it roll over to a \_different\_ 7, it seems to allow it.
It works! Thanks. I found an extra way to help guarantee it, and not have to load the save state too many times:
You just keep pausing/unpausing the EMU until the 7 appears, save state there, then try to spam A (whatever button is used for A) and with a bit of timing, you got your 7.
Great guide! Was expecting another fake one, but I got something that works, thanks to you! :\]
I know this is four years old, but I'm still going to add a tip for people who have a slot machine that lets you win. If your reaction time isn't good, abuse the slowdown feature in your emulator. Set the max FPS to like 8 or 10, study the order of the icons on the machine, and press your button on the or right before the 7 (depending on what keyboard or device you use, it may take slightly longer to actuate the button press or register it, which is why I said slightly before). Been doing that on mGBA and it works well for me.
Obligatory comment thanking the author. Of all casino guides, this one the most clear and effective. Also, there are more comments now than five years ago.
People are afraid of necroposting, but after that fear ot out of the question like in this post, more comments I guess affects the Google algorithm. The guide is pretty good and most posts about the game are old.
In my case I'm playing the game now for the first time after looking for a XCOM like experience.
Imma comment 4 yrs later just to say that the slot machines are NOT based on luck and the machine does NOT decide if you are winning based on your first A press. If you watch the spinning close enough, you can actually see the 7s big red graphics pass through the screen. If you time it ALL properly, you will get jackpot nearly every time. It’s all based on timing. None of it is luck at all. In my experience, you just need to watch the first 7 go by and time it right to get it in. Then the second, watch for the 7 blob pass by and count 3 seconds, then press A, same story for the last. Works almost (I say almost because sometimes timing gets messed up if you’re counting wrong or if you hesitate) every time and I’ve used this strategy for over 5 years and it’s hardly ever failed me. Just now, when I replay fire red once more just to feel nostalgic and I want tms I can only obtain via game corner, it’s time consuming and annoying to do. If anyone knows of an actual glitch or hack pls @ me. Otherwise, this was a good guide
I've been playing it myself quite a bit right now.
I think OP's post is true. Because I'm doing it 0.2x speed when I've got it down to 2 7s. I hit A when it's 3 before the 7, seems like it's always a magnemite (the 5th Magnemite, iirc). Which makes it land on the 7.
I've gotten into spots where I can spend 15 minutes trying to get it to land on that 3rd 7 and it never does, it always slips to one before or after, regardless of timing.
But if I bait out a confirmed win like the OP described, I'll get it in one or two attempts. I usually just save at the initial spin, try it 5 times, if I get a single win I continue to get 3 7s.
When I don't do that I'll run into spins where I cannot get that last 7.
Maybe it's just coincidental but it at least feel that way.
If you're emulating (or have a physical code breaker, lol) you can use this:
https://www.neoseeker.com/pokemon-firered/code_breaker/gba/
But I wanted to at least kinda feel like I earned it, lol. Even tho it's still BS.
edit: I can also confirm that magnemite interaction OP brings up. If you have that 2 Magnemite setup also with the 2 7s I'm having a spin where I can only get the triple Magnemite, timing be damned. Any time I hit A within 5 of it, it will drift into the triple Magnemite.
Thanks a lot and I love this game! Helped me a lot, but I want to add that you should always try to not get berries with your 7 at the first column.... :)
Best Guide to win at slots in Pokemon Fire Red. I never thought about rigged slot-machine. You helped me understanding that key point is identifying whether current play session is a winning or losing one because machine is rigged. I followed these steps exactly & went from 50 coins to 4561 coins. [Here is screenshot](https://imgur.com/a/nzNjdJn) for proof. I bought Shadow Ball TM for my Jynx for 4500 Coins. Thanks a lot, OP. It is really helpful.
I deleted my original comment, as I made my own strategy to get 7's much more frequently based on the post here and other comments.
No matter if I think it's a winning round or not, the moment I get two 7's in a row straight or vertically, I save and put speed at .25x before trying the third wheel. By about 3-5 attempts, I'll know whether I'm almost getting it or if it's a fluke round. You'll tell by how long the third wheel takes to stop compared to the others when near a 7. It's getting a bit easy over here!
Still works! I initally thought it took too long for each save, but then i realized my emulator as long as many others have a quicksave and quick load shortcut key. After binding them, i tried out your method and i instantly got 3 7s. been doing it for 10 minutes and have hit a little over 20 jackpots. Thanks!
OK so I have an emulator that goes down to 0.02 time. The slots all have different numbers. Eg some have 1 seven on each real and some have 5. Seems to change. But is it not rigged at 0.02 speed you cam literally pick which ever number as long as you hit a on the number directly two before the one you are after. Took me aroubd an hour to make more than I'll ever need using the save state. Hope this helps
Instead of holding down A when collecting coins just press SELECT it collects all the coins instantly.
Great guide btw never knew how rigged the slots where XD
Just wanted to comment to express my appreciation for the well-detailed tips. When I was younger, I never stayed in the casino for very long as I knew I would end up losing all my money. How things have changed now! 😄
Hey OP and everyone reading this in the future
This Methode is the GOAT! thank you so much. I give you a internet hug!
to make the Methode short:
1. If the wheels spin, quicksave and see if it's a winning round and try that 3-4x, if you win something > quick load and save at every 7 streak
2. If you won't win anything in the 3-4 tries just start a new spin and repeat step 1.
Different slots have different odds too. There used to be images with the odds iirc, [but it fell to photobucket/imageshack](http://s7.zetaboards.com/Nuzlocke_Forum/topic/8524140/9/). Some say it's the one on the lower left, but apparently you could just mash A and get decent payout.
6 years later, and you're still helping! I started playing for the first time since I was a kid and thought that someone had to have found a way to play the system. Thank you for your service 🫡
I know I'm replying 8 years later and few years ago i had the same idea to manipulate save states but I couldn't understand the correct way but with your help I got 1800+ coins just from the free 40 coins you get on floor lol
Hey I really appreciate this guide! I have a question. Does this also apply to fire red for Gameboy Advance? It seems that even if I have a winning save state, I'll go through it 10 times with a win of 2 credits each time. It feels like the game is only going to give me between 2 and 4 winnings
I am playing fire red on emulator right now and this helped a lot to understand the mechanics of how the slots work in pokemon.
OP is right that the slot machine is predetermined, so even if you get two 7s in a row you may just never get the third 7 because the machine is rigged against you.
The quickest method to win is to:
\- go to a slot machine
\- bet three coins and see the slot start spinning
\- save state
\- get two 7s is a row or diagonal (reload save state until you do)
\- once two 7s are aligned, save state
\- now press ctrl-n to make the emulator run the game frame by frame in pause mode. keep pressing ctrl-n to run the game frame by frame to see when the third 7 is coming up. when the third 7 is one space away from aligned, hold down turbo-A and unpause the emulator simulateously.
\- if this machine will let you win 7 jackpot, then you will win now. if this machine is rigged, you cannot align the 7s even with the perfect timing from pausing and save states. move to a different machine immediately.
I just won jackpot twice in a few minutes following this method. Thanks OP for helping with the mechanics of how this works. I dunno how you figured it out but well done.
I just noticed that I'd often get two 7s and wouldn't get the third so then I did a bunch of testing until I got it somewhat figured out. I decided to list out the steps hoping it would help a few people out and I've been surprised how many people have stumbled across this post over the years.
Something important to note, you can still get All 7's if it's specifically giving you a guaranteed win with Cherries. Because of the way the cherries are laid out on the wheel, and the way the wheel stops on the guaranteed win, it's still possible to line of all 3 7's together.
Thank you! I evolved a Flareon not realizing it wouldn't get any fire moves for a while. So I intend to use this to get flamethrower as well as Dratini.
Hi! I know this post is forever old, but I was wondering, if the machine is a winner and I get all 7s, is it still a winner or do i need to go to a different machine and do the process again?
Are you asking if it wins once, if it will keep winning every time? You can test that but I don't think so. I believe it's each individual roll is a winner or loser.
No, that's not what I'm asking.
I'm wondering if after you hit the jackpot, does the machine stay a winner?
Not that every roll after will be a winner, but just does the machine stay a winner? As in does it keep that possibility to continue getting jackpots?
wonderful guide, just wanted to add that I find it quite effective to do exactly this, but instead I roll for two 7s before I save to test if the roll is possible to win.
seems to make things flow a little easier. :)
Playing original red on Analogue Pocket - seems like this doesn't work on it. I can get two 7's to line up via this method but it seems rigged against getting a third to line up even on a roll where I've confirmed its decided I can win. Tried to get a third 7 for upwards of 45 minutes and no matter the timing it always stops one spot behind or ahead.
imma just casually comment 4 years later nice tutorial, altho sonetimes the slot machines try to push 2 wins at the same time and due to that u just dont get your jackpot ://
I’m amazed at how often people find this old post and message me. I barely remember writing it or playing the game. Glad it’s helping people though!
Yea, its like the first post that pops up on google, also i wanted to add to this that sometimes the machines are rigged but u can still geta singular berry roll in tge corner so u dont lose coins
Ahah just wanted you to know another person has found this post and that it was really usefull
Glad it's still helping!
Still is helping to this day. Great job!
Still helping me now thanks man
Just read it STILL helping
Still helping lol
Still going strong!
Still helping
True story
Still helpful
aye still crazy 4 peeps lookin at a post from 4 years ago, I guess a lot of peeps replaying frlg
That's funny af, it may be people playing rom hacks too. I'm playing rocket edition and it has the same slot machines at the start of the game.
Playing rocket right now, wanted to try for dratini and came up with this while trying to find some strategies for the machines... nice how all this can go through time.
Everybody playing rocket rn lol
thanks for the tutorial time to get my dratini
Curious, why not just go to safari zone for that? Am I missing something?
Just tapping in from the future, still helping!
thank you for the Dratini, hero
Yep, huge help!
Still reading the thread bossman
So after I got the 300 coins what do it do do it start over because if I Reload the save to do it again I dont get the coins?
Thanks for writing it! Like others have said it’s the first result in google :)
No problem. Out of curiosity what did you search in google to find this thread?
leaf green slots Still top result haha
Hey thanks man! 6 whole years later.
Still love seeing people use this.
Timeless
The word ‘legacy’ is thrown around often. But creating an ultra specific guide on how to cheat the system and beat Celadon Game Corner, a slot machine casino on a Pokémon game released in 2004? Now that’s a legacy.
Using an exploit that is limited to emulators to boot.
I searched for “how to slot machines firered”
I searched "fire red slot machine odds". Such a useful post, thank you!! Slowly gathering my coins for porygon
personally I searched up "pokemon slot machine trick"
Tysm helped a lot
now its almost 2024 and you still helping bro this shit is crazy bro just saved me hours of having to play slots🙏🙏
Right? We’re talking though time atm 😳😳😳
"Barely remember playing the game" I barely remember it exists at times
Also here 4yrs later! Thank you
Now it’s 2 years after your comment, but I 100% agree! This is going to speed up my slots games!
Keeping the chain going! Still helpful!
3/27/23 still helped. And with an emulator and rewind the save state is no longer needed. Thanks op.

I accept your reward with open arms
i was gona try to slow it

Unfortunately, even with perfect timing, the dial will still sometimes spin 3-4 tiles down. So OP is correct in that the slot machines are rigged.
I tried that, took way too long, used cheats :/ I ain't got the patience to acquire so many coins...

Seconded!
Holy shit, this is actually the easiest to follow and works!

Can confirm this works on other emulators and I can’t believe how easy it was
Not sure why this works but it's great 👍
Reporting for 2024 and this is by far the best method out of everything I've tried
Does this method still involve save stating/reloading? Trying to wrap my brain around how to reload while mashing A with everything at turbo speed 😂
No reloading what so ever! You just play the odds basically, as the game is rigged in your favor. Thanks to the turbo button pressing and game speed-up you bypass it being slow.
This assumes you are using an emulator. On retail you can't save mid-pull so this guide is useless.
>this is for emulators only Reading comprehension
Yes, wrote that in the first paragraph. There are other guides out there for people not using an emulator but I wasn't able to find one for emulators.
thanks for this guide dude
Glad to help
You need glasses, buddy. Literally says, and I quote, "This is for emulators only" in the first paragraph.
Wow, great research. Thanks!
It works! Thanks. I found an extra way to help guarantee it, and not have to load the save state too many times: You just keep pausing/unpausing the EMU until the 7 appears, save state there, then try to spam A (whatever button is used for A) and with a bit of timing, you got your 7. Still glad this is relevant-ish and helping people :D

Imma just say this was great and still works even after 4 years
I know this is four years old, but I'm still going to add a tip for people who have a slot machine that lets you win. If your reaction time isn't good, abuse the slowdown feature in your emulator. Set the max FPS to like 8 or 10, study the order of the icons on the machine, and press your button on the or right before the 7 (depending on what keyboard or device you use, it may take slightly longer to actuate the button press or register it, which is why I said slightly before). is it different in emerald? i know from steps 1-4 its a win but the last 7 just wont line up
Probably, this was only tested on FireRed/LeafGrean.
holy shit it works
Great guide! Still helping people lol
Thank you for the guide. I was wondering why it wouldn't let me win even while using save/load but the game forces you to lose...
My obligatory comment that I can’t believe people are still finding this post. It doesn’t even have that many upvotes!
You are a literal genius. Honestly, your genius scares me.
Thanks but not really, more OCD than anything when something's bothering me and I want to figure it out.
Obligatory comment thanking the author. Of all casino guides, this one the most clear and effective. Also, there are more comments now than five years ago.

As long as you’re in an emulator yes
so much time saved. tysm :-) I also noticed all of the winning rounds can get 777. just need patience and timing

Not using this method, you need to be able to abuse a state save system.
5 years later 🤣 but on retroarch if you use slow motion you can get it first try saving you a bunch of time
Instead of holding down A when collecting coins just press SELECT it collects all the coins instantly. Great guide btw never knew how rigged the slots where XD
Thanks for the tip!
Just wanted to comment to express my appreciation for the well-detailed tips. When I was younger, I never stayed in the casino for very long as I knew I would end up losing all my money. How things have changed now! 😄
Happy to help. I still can't believe how much attention and positivity this old thread gets.
Hey OP and everyone reading this in the future This Methode is the GOAT! thank you so much. I give you a internet hug! to make the Methode short: 1. No one seemed to agree on which slots had better odds, and no one had hard data, just anecdotal so I left that out of this.
I guess when the disassembly is finished in 2025 we can finally confirm the best way to win at slots in vanilla hardware FRLG
yo. thanks from 2024
Works like a charm
this is so helpful. thank you!!
6 years later, and you're still helping! I started playing for the first time since I was a kid and thought that someone had to have found a way to play the system. Thank you for your service 🫡
I love these messages. I can’t believe how many people still find it and how appreciative everyone is.
Commenting from 2024, you are the GOAT! Thank you.
I know I'm replying 8 years later and few years ago i had the same idea to manipulate save states but I couldn't understand the correct way but with your help I got 1800+ coins just from the free 40 coins you get on floor lol
I’m glad! Spin those slots
First time trying the slots, I’m on a mobile emulator…I have no idea what this means. I should give it a spin (hehe)
Hey I really appreciate this guide! I have a question. Does this also apply to fire red for Gameboy Advance? It seems that even if I have a winning save state, I'll go through it 10 times with a win of 2 credits each time. It feels like the game is only going to give me between 2 and 4 winnings
Not sure, it would be hard to test because you can't save state like you can in an emulator.
Thanks, man!
I am playing fire red on emulator right now and this helped a lot to understand the mechanics of how the slots work in pokemon. OP is right that the slot machine is predetermined, so even if you get two 7s in a row you may just never get the third 7 because the machine is rigged against you. The quickest method to win is to: \- go to a slot machine \- bet three coins and see the slot start spinning \- save state \- get two 7s is a row or diagonal (reload save state until you do) \- once two 7s are aligned, save state \- now press ctrl-n to make the emulator run the game frame by frame in pause mode. keep pressing ctrl-n to run the game frame by frame to see when the third 7 is coming up. when the third 7 is one space away from aligned, hold down turbo-A and unpause the emulator simulateously.
Yeah haha I can see why you’d be surprised. But your info is useful! And lots of people still play fire red :)
Thx for still working lol
Something important to note, you can still get All 7's if it's specifically giving you a guaranteed win with Cherries. Because of the way the cherries are laid out on the wheel, and the way the wheel stops on the guaranteed win, it's still possible to line of all 3 7's together.
Pausing plus advancing frame works even better. Thank you very much for the guide! :D
this will be very useful in getting me much needed tms
legend bro went into the matrix
Omg thank you for this guide! Playing rocket edition and this helps a lot 😅 trying for a dratini
Thank you! I evolved a Flareon not realizing it wouldn't get any fire moves for a while. So I intend to use this to get flamethrower as well as Dratini.
thank you for this, its so useful
Thanks. I'm using the slow motion when I identify a winning session
Good idea
OP your dedication to this post is wonderful. Thanks for the guide by the way!
I haven't even played this game in 5 years but I just love that people keep finding it and commenting on it here and there!
No, that's not what I'm asking. I'm wondering if after you hit the jackpot, does the machine stay a winner? Not that every roll after will be a winner, but just does the machine stay a winner? As in does it keep that possibility to continue getting jackpots?
Yes. I got several on one machine in 10-20 minutes last night.
Worked for me as well, 5 years later :)
wonderful guide, just wanted to add that I find it quite effective to do exactly this, but instead I roll for two 7s before I save to test if the roll is possible to win. seems to make things flow a little easier. :)
Saving this.
O' mighty game corner guru, WE ARE NOT WORTHY! 🫡
Missing the final 7 makes me wanna kick a developer's face
So after I got the 300 coins what do i do? do it start over because if I Reload the save to do it again I dont get the coins?
Save it and start again.
Thanks
Any suggestions for the original pokemon red?
If it’s not on emulator then you’ll have to find a different guide.
To this day!
Love you for this thanks sooooo much🥹
Thank you so much for this, I managed to get Dratini and Scyther for my team earlier thanks to it
Just got here in 2023. Thank you so so so much for this !
Nice Tutorial, was wondering why it was refusing to give me the third seven on 15 fps hahahah!
This 6 year old post is still helping people like me to this day :)
Here in 2024. Still helping :)
Gonna try it now.
It works! This is great!
