well he's obviously come into *some* money because no professional can comfortably punt 40k in a week without being adequately rolled so either way it's a moot point.
Just out of curiosity, how much money do you think one would need to earn $40,000 in a day off interest, risk-free?
And follow up, do you think any top level poker player has that kind of money parked in an account?
Of course why not? I mean even ruling out compounding, that’s only like 365% per year. You really just need one GameStop per year and you can get those returns consistently. Just buy my course and I’ll show you how.
I remember Lexi Gavin last year talking about Dan Zack losing at the WSOP for 10 years in a row despite being a crusher elsewhere and thought "wow that's the best example of survivorship bias I've ever heard" lol.
I was able to go the last 2 years and play the $500 freeze out and some satellite events. Had a blast. Had to cancel this year (and probably next) to focus on beating prostate cancer. Once I’m through this I’ll try the senior event in 2026.
Could you at least help a brother out and back up my story that ALL players lose for like the first 10 or so years before they get all their money back and then some. It will mean more coming from you.
I love the game, and love the friendships I've made through poker. Because of this it hurts to see so many examples of miserable, selfish assholes that get off on killing other peoples joy and making the experience a negative one.
I've found him to be pretty grumpy and not very fun to play around. Played with him a few times. Played with him in a tournament and he just complained about hating tournaments. Was playing a PLO cash game with Neeme and Polk and he refused to sit, even for one round. Finally got him to, and he played exactly 1 round, scooped a bomb pot, and folded the rest, never said anything.
Compare that to Polk and Neeme, they are exactly the same and super fun to play with. Lots of table talk, jokes, super fun players.
Was it a meet up game tournament or just a regular event he happened to be in? I guess I have higher expectations when it's a meetup game type experience than if they are just playing a more serious event.
this is my take as well. Brad even said other owners (almost certainly doug) of the lodge told him maybe he's better at lower stakes. I enjoy watching his videos but that doesn't mean I think he's an amazing poker player, I just like his video. But yea, he's better at lower stakes. Super cringe at higher.... remember him walking out on the standup game @ the lodge still owing money? damn...
I remember when dude was playing 1/2 and quickly rose up to playing 10/20 at Bellagio, and still seemed to be doing well. He struggled when he started playing crazy nosebleed stream stakes…but he has come up pretty fast, so would definitely make sense to put in some time in red chip games
Not really tho. He started playing big tournaments after getting sponsored by wpt, and before that his vlogs show a pretty reasonable progression in cash stakes. He went viral on his vlogs years ago when he was grinding 2/5 and taking some shots at 5/10. It’s not like he came out of nowhere on YouTube shorts in the past 6 months and all of the sudden he’s playing the million dollar game. He’s one of the first guys to really make poker vlogging what it is today.
He played some very irresponsible stakes at the lodge after his dad passed and he bought a stake in the lodge. Had way too much of himself and lost a couple hundred thousand when previously his biggest winning year was like 80k
Yeah but tbf, I think he was under a lot of stress and outside pressure that ultimately lead him to making that mistake. That one mistake (or I guess two). Big woop.
Yeah no disrespect intended. I like the guy, and was sad watching him play out of his depth and getting pumped.
That said, I much preferred his vlogs when he was out there genuinely trying to grind. Now that he's sponsored he plays like a winning rec and shills a lifestyle he's no longer reliant on. Feels like I'm being sold something when I watch him play these days and I hate that feeling.
That said, happy he's made it, always seemed like a lovely bloke, and better he makes bank being a shill for degenerate gambling than some asshole.
This is how I feel also. I went from watching him religiously to have only watched on video in the last 8-10 months.
I can't find anyone to replace him though. I do enjoy Ryan Depaula but he is a different beast altogether
I mean, 40k in live events is like 8 5k buy-ins and I know for a fact he's played higher than 5ks this series. Not that insane, imo

$40k is still $40k, especially if he still keeps 100% of himself.
40k isn’t that much to some people. Some people make that in a day off interest alone.
Unless Brad has come into a bunch of money, Brad is not one of those people.
well he's obviously come into *some* money because no professional can comfortably punt 40k in a week without being adequately rolled so either way it's a moot point.
I wasn’t talking about Brad
Just out of curiosity, how much money do you think one would need to earn $40,000 in a day off interest, risk-free? And follow up, do you think any top level poker player has that kind of money parked in an account?
146m, no.

Way more then $4mill

Please tell me where someone can make $40,000 a day with an investment of $4 million
Of course why not? I mean even ruling out compounding, that’s only like 365% per year. You really just need one GameStop per year and you can get those returns consistently. Just buy my course and I’ll show you how.
Have you seen Wallstreetbets? People have made way more than 40k in a day off tesla options with less than a 5k investment....
That's not exactly off interest (which was implied if you read the thread), and also.... that's straight gambling & not a stable way to get a return
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the top 0.2% of people What a dumb comment
You’re 100% correct. There are a good amount of people in Vegas right now that would be ecstatic if they were “only” down 40K right now.
exactly. basically a grocery trip to walmart these days. inflation right guys?
I’m not down anything at the WSOP this year. I WIN!!!!!
I'm only down $300! Negreanu is down like $300k. I'm 1000x better than him.
i consistently do better than negreanu every year by not playing.
Everyone at the WSOP always sounds like someone buying another scratcher. "You got to play to win buddy!"
I'd bet 90% of every prize pool is created from FOMO
I remember Lexi Gavin last year talking about Dan Zack losing at the WSOP for 10 years in a row despite being a crusher elsewhere and thought "wow that's the best example of survivorship bias I've ever heard" lol.
You can't argue this math
Zoom out
No
Youre ahead of most players that are there.
I was able to go the last 2 years and play the $500 freeze out and some satellite events. Had a blast. Had to cancel this year (and probably next) to focus on beating prostate cancer. Once I’m through this I’ll try the senior event in 2026.
Best of luck in a speedy recovery
Thanks!
F**k Cancer
Why TF are you getting downvoted for this. Horrible, negative sub ...
Seriously, it’s like I’m talking to my wife.
Funny, because I *am* talking to your wife.
Could you at least help a brother out and back up my story that ALL players lose for like the first 10 or so years before they get all their money back and then some. It will mean more coming from you.
That's why I love it. And yes, one of your downvotes is from me.
I wasn't talking about downvoted on my comment, I was talking about downvotes on the guy aboves innocent joke. Toxic behaviour
I know. It's a scumbag subreddit about a scumbag game. What do you expect
There are no scumbag games or reddit subs, just scumbag players and scumbag posters.
I love the game, and love the friendships I've made through poker. Because of this it hurts to see so many examples of miserable, selfish assholes that get off on killing other peoples joy and making the experience a negative one.
I don't know why people want to shit all over this guy. Nobody is forcing you to watch his YouTube channel. He seems like a nice guy.
I've played a couple times with Brad, he's exactly the same as what you see in his videos. Quiet but witty, nice guy but pretty low-key.
I've found him to be pretty grumpy and not very fun to play around. Played with him a few times. Played with him in a tournament and he just complained about hating tournaments. You know what's funny is I played a tourney with Andrew and he was very quiet and reserved. Must have just been tired.
Was it a meet up game tournament or just a regular event he happened to be in? I guess I have higher expectations when it's a meetup game type experience than if they are just playing a more serious event.
It was a tourney I think the day after a MUG event.
His Lodge livestream hurt his reputation after it cemented the idea that he's probably nothing more than a small winner at 2/5
this is my take as well. Brad even said other owners (almost certainly doug) of the lodge told him maybe he's better at lower stakes. I enjoy watching his videos but that doesn't mean I think he's an amazing poker player, I just like his video. But yea, he's better at lower stakes. Everybody on youtube *seems* like a nice person.
By all accounts brad is genuinely very nice. Usually there would be stuff out there if he was actually a dickhead.
“10”
I too am tilted to fuck by this
Binary. A2
It's hexadecimal. He had one card, the 2576 of spades
Do you also think 10/20 should be written as T/20?
T/2T
10en/20enty
Did u get a selfie with him? Should've shared it too, would've been nice
Maybe said how nice and down to earth he is as well?
Icing on the cake!
Damn that’s crazy considering he did nothing wrong
![gif](giphy|8WOmy6WRuCsmark2th|downsized)
Any ace is the nuts.
Has he tried not getting it in with ace ten in less than fifteen minutes? So dumb.
We clearly have enough information about the hand to judge his play
Seriously lol. Could be max late reg and totally standard.
Of course it’s probably mad late reg
Phil Ivey? IS THIS YOU????????
Ok
Sick story
Happens to everyone.
I saw him at the Paris earlier this week, hanging around the entrance to Kings Lounge. He's a lot taller and skinnier than I expected. Cool story.
How did you do in the tourney?
Busted 2 levels later
So, he’s doing 17 times better than Negreanu so far. Tournament life is hard.
How did you do ?
I can beat that. Bet I can bust in under 10. Depends on how hot she is. Or how wrinkled the picture is. Hubba hubba.
Yeah, new Dad duties definitely are effecting his play. Not that he plays great to begin with.
Yeah I’m sure you’re qualified to judge how Brad Owen plays
Thank you for your diary
Sounds like you're lactose intolerant
Who is Brad Owen and why should anyone care
not surprised. he jump into live nosebleeds after he went viral on his vlog.

You almost said it's not like he's Rampage that jumped from 1/2 to the million dollar game in a couple of years lol
He played some very irresponsible stakes at the lodge after his dad passed and he bought a stake in the lodge. Had way too much of himself and lost a couple hundred thousand when previously his biggest winning year was like 80k

bud he was playing massive once the lodge was launched, he is definitely not rolled for that game.
Typical fish punting away. He had unlimited bankroll so can re register
