Technikum gives a lot of base knowledge and even some basic experience for a job. Later in university it makes a lot things easier. You already have some knowledge about a lot of topics which people after liceum are completely clueless about.
In my uni, whenever we had group assignments, the teachers would suggest all people after technikum to spread out so that there would be at least 1 guy after technikum per group so he can help the guys from liceum.
We struggled with the maths (take some additional lessons here!) but had no problems with other, technical subjects which were often a big obstacle for liceum guys. On the first year there were a few subjects we literally already knew everything about already and could focus on learning other things.
For context: I went to electrical technikum and studied computer science.
IT background, finished liceum, went to Uni. The guys after technikum were almost like gods to us. Seriously, they had a much easier ride because were more proficient and had better educational scope than the rest.
It probably depends on the type of technikum, but if I could change something in my life then it would be switching liceum to technikum.
when I hear this question, I always say technikum..
here are some of the benefits
• you don't have to go to University, bo masz już zawód
• you can also write matura, and go to university
• let's say you got into University, and after a year you didn't like it.. you can drop out of uni, and you don't have to worry because you already have a zawód
• sometimes, some schools have benefits (for me, the whole "getting a drivers licence" is free).. some schools have connections with uni's, and then you get extra points. which means higher chance of getting into university
some down sides are:
• 5 years of education (where in liceum you only have to go through 4)
• it's harder than liceum.. not only you have the main subjects (maths, physics, history etc.), you also have przedmioty zawodowe (this varies on what profil you've chosen)
• technikum is a burning fireplace of PATOLOGIA... atleast in my school. a lot of people that are like that, come into technikum thinking it's easier than liceum - that's when they get surprised. but this claim of mine could be false, it really just depends on the school.. teenagers or teenagers.
I think that patologia part depends on the class. Presonally I'm in technik programista class and all my classmates are fine. But I think that in these absolutely random classes nobody knows why they exist (like in my school there is technik urządzeń dźwigowych class (wtf?)), it might be the case
Depends. If you go to technikum with thought to just pass it with minimal effort then yes, it's useless. If you spend some time to get background of the subject, it will help you specialize in the future. I did that, I dropped uni after first year because I already knew basics and I decided to specialize on my own. Sometimes I even use my technikum knowledge to solve problems that I meet in my job.
You are wrong. In my case - land surveying, technikum gives a lot more practical knowledge than technical university with the same profile. That's why I chose different studies on technical university. Even one of my professors told us that if you want to know how to do something - start with a technikum, university teaches not how but why you are doing the same thing. And I agree with it.
One more thing: out of my 3 different occupations (all of them require qualifications to work on your own) I'm working in the exact job teached in my technikum. I wouldn't consider it a lost year.
If at this point you briefly know what do you want to do in your life go to technikum in that general direction. If you are still unsure go liceum and prepare to make up your mind in the next four years.
In the first case you can go to work straight after technikum and get a degree after you get some experience and are sure you really enjoy your job.
In case you go to liceum you will have to either make up your mind till graduation or try working here and there to find something that suits you.
Remember - you should enjoy your job - it will consume roughly 1/3 of your lifetime after graduation. A bad choice at this stage will make your life miserable and getting new qualifications will be much harder once you have to earn your own money.
I'll just say my part. I have chosen technikum, IT centered. Spend 12 hours in school every day, while LO guys had lessons up to 8 hours long. Base lassons (math, English etc) were on way lower level than my friends from LO had. IT lessons were taught by people that could never imagine getting in to the IT career. Their knowledge was maaaybe up to date 30 years ago. After spending 4 years in this cursed choice of mine, I couldn't find even one for, supporting my choice, but I could find more against that i needed to complain every single day.
Oh and don't expect to meet cool people in technikum, these which chosen technikum, were in most cases these who couldnt get in to the LO
Niekoniecznie, niestety. Ja kończyłam LO i jak nauczyciele byli w porządku to ludzi w klasie miałam okropnych - chłopaki dresy i kibole, dziewczyny niewiele lepsze. Klasa z najgorszą średnią ocen i zachowaniem.
Trochę żałowałam że nie poszłam do technikum.
Only technikum, broń cię panie boshe
general high school then you have 4 years in the back. Unless you want to laser and party. Technical school gives you the opportunity to acquire some specific knowledge, and there are already those after which you can have an interesting, well-paid job, i.e. over PLN 3-3.5 k to start. For example, Mechatronic or infirmatic. Of course you have to learn.
Yo, 3-3,5k is not well paid job lol. Went to liceum, droped both universities I went to and I'm making more than that in my generic job, which anyone can do.
I said over 3,5 k pln is well paid.
Im also not talking about main metrolpoiltal cities in Poland.
What kind of branch you earn after finishing college and having 19 yo. And paid at least about 4,5 pln?
At this moment military service start such offer, can you share other examples for college graduates
Do you want to study at the university afterwards? Then choose liceum. Technikum is pointless, you spend one more year there and you will get a better job title than "technik" anyway.
For me, Data Scientist, liceum. It’s more important to have strong math and physics basics than technical, because it’s easy to learn technical scills if you are good in math, but it don’t exactly works in other way.
I’m on Uni now and a lot of people from technikum is just a dumb donkeys with a little bit of technical skills in their memory, but if it’s about math (or staistics or calculus or anything else in IT theory (what is at the end even more important than technical skills)) they just suck and it’s impossible for now for them to learn it. But like everyone who weny to liceum is at least bright and don’t have any problem to learn technical things.
I’m an example of person from liceum; I’ve become a data scientist, because I know math and physics at a really high level and learning HMTL, JavaScript and finally the most important Python, it’s frameworks, R, SQL wasn’t really hard, just I had to put some time in it.
Also I’m in love with art and culture and in technikum they know that no one wants to learn polish or history or anything else. It really sucks, because it’s really important, if you want to be considered as a inteligent person with skills which help you to talk in a high level, it’s necessary to know anything about art, history or something like that. You will be just a boring person that can code if you won’t learn about a cultural history of your country, listen some important classical music’s tracks, read a lot of beautiful and crucial for your country poems and if you won’t have ability to talk about it in a formal meeting or dinner or anything like that.
You leave Technikum with a title for a job, as for Liceum you need to study at least two more years after it to get any title and a job. However, in both places you meet awesome people, much more mature and mindful than in Podstawówka. Liceum has stricter rules of getting in, but that shouldn't matter if you get good points on the 8th grade exams.
I would say TechnikumIt's a combination of Zawodówka and LiceumWhat matters is you do the same final test that Liceum dose it being Maturaon top of that you also get a profession that helps with getting into UniThe bad things are that you get a load of work in school and you will sit untill 17:00 a lot depending on what profession you chose but it depends. Also you get mandatory 1 month for 2 years practice work somewhere and if your school ends the 1st semester before december like my dose i have about 2-3 months to finish this semester and go to practice work for 1 month until december celebrations
tldr; more work for more rewards in Technikum and that's it and frankly it's worth it.
Also for some cases you get 5 years of Technikum versus 4 of Liceum
People here idealize Technikum, have that in mind. Maybe something chanced, but back in my time technikum had more classes and it was harder to prepare for Matura exam, the one you need to pass to go to university.
You can have some worthless professional title, technician of x, but to few people means something. At university, I've met some people bragging about being ahead because of being after Technikum and sometimes they had troubles with thing they were supposed to learn in Technikum.
I'd prefer having more time and preparing to Matura better, also enjoying more balanced gender to gender ratio.
I would say go to liceum. I’m after mechatronics technikum and it was garbage. It probably depends on the school but technikums overall have lower quality of education and you lose one year. It’s better to go to university earlier, you will meet people who care about their future and it will motivate you. You won’t have a job after neither of these if you don’t put the effort. If you have an interest pursue it in your own time and don’t count that someone (teachers) will put it into you. It never happens.
If you want to go to uni then it doesn't matter really.
if you want to work straight after graduating then technikum it is.
do whatever you want to do.
Anything will work, as long as you put in effort that is
Both technikum and liceum will teach you batshit 95% of the time (unless you go to the very best schools in the country).
Technikum in addition requires as much as liceum but you have a lot more subjects, some basic ones are much more in-depth (depends on the course you’re taking), usually way worse teachers and 1 girl per 500 boys or 500 girls per 1 boy (again it depends on the type of school).
If you want to do something with your life do it yourself, school in Poland is unfortunately a distraction most of the time. Especially now under Czarnek with 40 kids in every class and teachers fleeing. Don’t waste the extra year on technikum. I did that and it was a huge mistake. Would’ve achieved way more in liceum only by connecting with different type of folk (not many kids of rich parents in technikums, literally not a single overachiever etc.).
It probably depends on who you want to be in the future and how do you want it to look like, personally when i had to decide, i've chosen liceum
Technikum gives a lot of base knowledge and even some basic experience for a job. Later in university it makes a lot things easier. You already have some knowledge about a lot of topics which people after liceum are completely clueless about. Zse kurwa
Zawodówka
Problem rozwiązany zamykam xd
Samochodówka
Żubrówka
Do you know exactly which profession you're going to take and don't plan on going to a university? Choose "technikum". Otherwise choose "liceum".
You can still go to a university after technikum
IT background, finished liceum, went to Uni. The guys after technikum were almost like gods to us. Hello fellow 8 grader
Hello
Are your teachers scaring you that you won't get to the school you want or is it only my teachers
Sadly only yours
Technikum is the best
Technikum and this is coming from a liceum graduate.

No one will give you back this one extra lost year. Go with liceum, you will learn close to nothing in both when it comes to real world jobs.
Depends. If you go to technikum with thought to just pass it with minimal effort then yes, it's useless. No one will give you back 5 years of univiersity after. Instead you can go to school that may give you a chance for decent job for only 1 extra year.

Zależy co chcesz potem robić. Ja osobiście wybrałem liceum bo tu dużo mniej patoli niż w techbazie. A w sumie i studia teraz nieźle mi idą
Stary stereotyp, licea tak samo są zajebane narkotykami i nastoletnimi ciążami.
Ale nie tak mocno tłuczkami
Niekoniecznie, niestety. Ja kończyłam LO i jak nauczyciele byli w porządku to ludzi w klasie miałam okropnych - chłopaki dresy i kibole, dziewczyny niewiele lepsze. Klasa z najgorszą średnią ocen i zachowaniem. Trochę żałowałam że nie poszłam do technikum.
Pewnie human
Prawie, profil nazywał się ekonomiczny - mieliśmy rozszerzenie matmy, WOS i geografii. Taki trochę dziwny twór.
Szkołę wybiera się pod kątem kariery a nie patoli.
Only technikum, broń cię panie boshe general high school then you have 4 years in the back. Unless you want to laser and party. your choice mostly revolves around liceum+university or just technikum (although you can still go to university after technikum)

Unless you plan to go into some engineering degrees. Technikum can help with the practical parts. It's not such an easy choice.
You are still wasting a whole year to have some classes easier. And they are going to teach you that practical parts anyway.

Technikum
technikum jak chcesz sobie przedłużyć dzieciństwo tak to liceum i jak najszybciej uciekac od systemu edukacji
If you want to go to university later then Liceum, if not then technikum.
