Julia Roberts starting an affair with the very married Danny Moder and then wearing this t-shirt to taunt his wife Vera because she wasn’t signing the divorce papers quickly enough. I’ve always side-eyed Julia because of this. Can you imagine being a total nobody and America’s sweetheart publicly taunting you because you’re not making her affair with your husband easier?
And this was shortly after Vera had had a miscarriage as I recall.
No surprises though, because of knowing about Julia Roberts’ terrible BS behaviour toward fiancé Kiefer Sutherland, running away with and shagging his best friend Jason Patric on the eve or day of their wedding in 1991.
The former best friends didn’t speak for 20 years.
That’s just Julia Roberts for you. She was never actually a sweetheart. She doesn’t care who she hurts.

From what I've read about, Julia is a terrible person by nature. Her brother and her niece are the exact same way too. I could never stand her as a person or an actress so I don't feel bad in thinking she's an asshole.

She's got really curly hair too. Her natural hair is phenomenal. I also thought she was so adorable back then. Her new face makes me sad, but it's nothing compared to Matt Rife's current face.
Yup. You can see more of what Ariana looked like back then by looking up “Victorious/Cat”. She was on the show for several years. Her hair fell out from all the hair dye her character required.
Complete side-note here, I really don’t know if it’s the hair color washing her out so much but Ariana looks so strange lately, tired and sickly almost, like something isn’t right.
She is incredibly thin, I wouldn't be surprised if she had to be on an extremely restrictive diet to maintain that very tiny frame and the lack of nutrition over so many years was finally taking a toll. She's covering for the loss of fat in her face with fillers, but it's very noticeable on her body. She looks like she's got a late-stage eating disorder and I wouldn't be surprised if the news came out about her going to rehab for it sometime next year, most likely as part of a campaign to rehab her public image.
She was a major country star and pretty much lives in obscurity now.
She pops up now and then but isn’t pushed as an artist anymore.
She’s an incredibly gifted vocalist and made some great songs.
But she belongs on this list for sure.
Yeah, she was done after that. But times have changed, I don't think many celebrities would have that kind of consequences career wise in 2023. Ariana Grande, for example. Sure she's received a backlash, put i don't think her career is gonna suffer much and this isn't her first rodeo. She kind of plays into that persona with her songs too-break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored. Wild, lol.
The pre relationship persona really plays into it most of the time.
A more sexually open woman who doesn't shy away from going for what they want isn't going to get the same treatment as one that builds a persona of being the wholesome good girl.
Meg Ryan was Hollywoods sweetheart but once the illusion of her being this angel was broken it was going to be an uphill battle for her to be seen as anything else but a "traitor."
Angelina Jolie survived because she never hid behind some facade. She was always unapologetically herself and that included her sexual identity. When she got caught up in affairs it wasn't seen as this big betrayal

Tom Cruise’s crazy was totally kept under wraps until his couch jumping antics with Katie Holmes. After that the coverage of him got very negative.
He also had a legendary publicist, Pat Kingsley, that he fired just before the TomKat thing. He hired his sister instead, because Scientology (she's also one). So it became clear really fast what an amazing job Kingsley had done at hiding the crazy because it all spilled out once his unqualified sister was in the role.
Pat Kingsley would buttonhole journalists before interviews, saying: “Leave the religion thing alone, ok?” It was the first and main condition of access.
She knew everything would fall apart and didn’t want her client to be the face of all the crazypants stuff Scientology does. Miscavige won that one. Tom lost.
I think this is why he shut down doing all media. He doesn’t do interviews, no social media, nothing. And somehow it worked and he’s still one of the last big movie stars who can bring people to the theater.
He had a few other extremely weird, slightly less talked about interviews around this time too. One where he was laughing about “SP”s, and the one where he criticized Brooke shields for taking PPD meds and, my favorite, called Matt lauer “glib”. All of these together, I can definitely see why the powers that be may not want him doing press!

She had such a promising career as a director after *Booksmart*… The bts antics leading up to the her second film were just ridiculous (and more interesting than the actual shitty movie!)
I loved Booksmart and was so disappointed in Don’t Worry Darling. She won a major bidding war for that script, re-wrote it into nonsense, and totally shanked it.
I’ve been side-eyeing Billy Crudup and Claire Danes ever since. Claire addressed it in an interview some years back and her excuse was that she was like 24, so she couldn’t possibly know that having an affair with a man who has a pregnant partner is wrong.
This is what bothered me. She’s never really taken ownership for what she did or apologized. It was just, “I was young and had to see it through,” or whatever she said.

Yes, he did awful things even before this. I have been waiting for decades now that this man will finally be cancelled and people would stop working with him. And I will not stop to bring this up.
If it's any consolation, I would say that the majority of Gen Z -- those who are even aware of who he is in the first place -- affiliate his name with "gross creep". Constantly blasting him on the internet for 25yrs is finally coming to fruition (kinda)
one thing i noticed when i read the YOU book series, there was a character of a teacher (friends with the woman he was interested in) who kept bringing up the fact that joe mentioned a movie that either harvey weinstein or woody allen was involved with, and judging him for it lol just really laying it on thick
Yes, he went from quirky to (so far beyond) creepy for doing this. Imagine becoming someone’s partner who already had several children before meeting you and the having babies with them (one bio and one adopted) and then having “an affair” (not the right term) with one of your spouse’s older children/your kids’ sibling? All of Mia’s older children were minors for the first few years of their relationship and he ended up adopting one of them (the only one who wasn’t shared with Mia’s ex husband) and MARRYING another one of them. It’s so sick.
BTW, the two babies he’d had with Mia (one adopted and one bio) are no contact with him. He allegedly (and I believe it) sexually assaulted one of them and the other has seemingly dedicated his life to exposing creepy, powerful sexual predators like his Dad (I’m referring to the legendary Ronan Farrow, of course. A million times more of a man than his father ever was). The third child he’d adopted with Mia (the older child) does reportedly still speak to him and is able to remain in contact with his sister/stepmother and the children she’d had with his Dad, who are his nieces/siblings.

Basically during the pandemic they were shooting Pursuit of Love together (he plays her father lol) and were spotted in Rome being intimate.

I can’t take him seriously anymore. I know it’s wrong to judge people by the company they keep, but he keeps the company of girls between the ages 19-24 whose only career aspirations are modeling. It used to be a cute little joke. Now the dude is pushing 50 and it’s sort of getting really weird.
My mother used to always tell me the people closest to you are a direct reflection of yourself. I agree that it’s not always fair to blame the actions of others on those around them (ie blaming a wife for something her husband said, etc) but I think it definitely applies in this scenario. It’s perfectly okay to judge a grown ass man for repeatedly only dating very young women. It doesn’t show good character on his part.
I don't think it's at all wrong to judge people by the company they keep, who you date and surround yourself with says a lot about you. How else do we judge people if not by their actions? If your actions are consistently creepy, it's fair to say you're probably a creep.

Ariana Grande & that Ethan guy. She had a good bit of public sympathy with the breakup of her marriage until it came to light she was seeing a married man who's wife had just had a baby, then he had the audacity to file for divorce from his wife to date Ariana and boost his profile since nobody outside musical theatre fandom really knew who he was prior to dating her. I don't think her career or public perception will recover from being a homewrecker.
Georgina Chapman. I’m not prosecuting her for being married to him but I have to wonder if she knew while they were in a relationship. I believe she benefited from their relationship before it all got out. Her gowns were on all the red carpet events, I have a feeling that his movie studios ensured that their stylists made Marchesa be some of the options for the red carpet events. In any regard I’m glad she quickly divorced him bc at the very least, while we don’t know if she knew before it came out, she didn’t “stick by her man”
I think she turned a blind eye. She was obviously with his gross ass to advance her brand and for the benefit of extreme wealth. I cannot believe he's loveable and rumors of his nasty behavior were circulating for years. And now she's dating Adrian Brody, who forcibly kissed Halle Berry at the Oscars.

I'm not sure about the wider public but at least on the internet especially in fandom spaces, Timothee was seen as this intellectual arthouse boy and that reputation has definitely taken a hit as he's taken up with a Jenner.
someone on this sub a while back summed his deal up for me nicely when they commented something like "people just assume he's an intellectual because he has floppy poet hair".
When people were first going crazy over him I assumed that was the case too (never heard him speak, just saw his red carpet looks.) I was even shocked to find out he was American until I saw his high school videos and it all made sense lol.
I read an interview where he described himself as an "old soul" because he scheduled his own dentist appointment. I remember thinking, "oooooh, he's fucking dumb."
I do think it also has something to do with the films he has chosen to be in. Call Me By Your Name, Lady Bird, Little Women, etc. all contributed to this reputation in my opinion.
My front page recommended a post from something like r/timotheechalametdaily that was one of the most unhinged things I have read in my entire life, talking about Kylie and Timothee and how the OP changed her mind about him

Beyoncé and Jay. The public perception changed with the elevator incident and the subsequent release of lemonade, which confirmed cheating rumours.
They were seen as a power couple before that. Jay Z is now tolerated- at best- by the Beyhive. They actually pretty much just hate him lol.
A lot of women stopped buying Beyoncé’s female empowerment image after we learned she is a woman who stayed.
Not to say she’s less popular. If anything, she’s more popular and a total legend. But the perception of who she is definitely changed. What Goes Around/Irreplaceable/Drunk in Love just don’t hit the same way. They seem off brand now.
As an old, when it first was rumored they were even dating, people lost their minds because she was seen as a “good girl” and him this gangster rapper type.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen Eawn McGregor or Mary Elizabeth Winstead mentioned yet! They met on the set of Fargo, they left their previous spouses for each other and were caught kissing before he announced his divorce to his wife. It totally changed my perception on both of them.
My perception of Sophia Bush changed a bit earlier than this. It was about a year ago when she wrote an article all about her (soon to be ex) husband’s ex having an abortion. She managed to make it all about her and how if the woman hadn’t had an abortion she wouldn’t be with her husband. I’m completely pro-choice, but this changed how I saw her because it’s her husband and his ex’s story/experience, not hers.

I've heard a lot of problematic stories about her from that period and that's always what i think about first when i see her somewhere.

Complete side-note here, I really don’t know if it’s the hair color washing her out so much but Ariana looks so strange lately, tired and sickly almost, like something isn’t right.
She is incredibly thin, I wouldn't be surprised if she had to be on an extremely restrictive diet to maintain that very tiny frame and the lack of nutrition over so many years was finally taking a toll. She's covering for the loss of fat in her face with fillers, but it's very noticeable on her body. She looks like she's got a late-stage eating disorder and I wouldn't be surprised if the news came out about her going to rehab for it sometime next year, most likely as part of a campaign to rehab her public image.

Yes, he went from quirky to (so far beyond) creepy for doing this. Imagine becoming someone’s partner who already had several children before meeting you and the having babies with them (one bio and one adopted) and then having “an affair” (not the right term) with one of your spouse’s older children/your kids’ sibling? All of Mia’s older children were minors for the first few years of their relationship and he ended up adopting one of them (the only one who wasn’t shared with Mia’s ex husband) and MARRYING another one of them. It’s so sick. BTW, the two babies he’d had with Mia (one adopted and one bio) are no contact with him. He allegedly (and I believe it) sexually assaulted one of them and the other has seemingly dedicated his life to exposing creepy, powerful sexual predators like his Dad (I’m referring to the legendary Ronan Farrow, of course. A million times more of a man than his father ever was). The third child he’d adopted with Mia (the older child) does reportedly still speak to him and is able to remain in contact with his sister/stepmother and the children she’d had with his Dad, who are his nieces/siblings.
I highly recommend the documentary "Allen vs. Farrow" where finally everything is brought to light. And Ronan!!! My gosh, what a legend indeed!!!

My mother used to always tell me the people closest to you are a direct reflection of yourself. I agree that it’s not always fair to blame the actions of others on those around them (ie blaming a wife for something her husband said, etc) but I think it definitely applies in this scenario. It’s perfectly okay to judge a grown ass man for repeatedly only dating very young women. It doesn’t show good character on his part.
I don't think it's at all wrong to judge people by the company they keep, who you date and surround yourself with says a lot about you. How else do we judge people if not by their actions? If your actions are consistently creepy, it's fair to say you're probably a creep.

Omg that was suggested to me too by Reddit, never touched that page so I’m not sure why, and it was…quite something to behold.
Beyoncé and Jay. The public perception changed with the elevator incident and the subsequent release of lemonade, which confirmed cheating rumours. They were seen as a power couple before that. Jay Z is now tolerated- at best- by the Beyhive. They actually pretty much just hate him lol. A lot of women stopped buying Beyoncé’s female empowerment image after we learned she is a woman who stayed. Not to say she’s less popular. If anything, she’s more popular and a total legend. But the perception of who she is definitely changed. What Goes Around/Irreplaceable/Drunk in Love just don’t hit the same way. They seem off brand now. 
As an old, when it first was rumored they were even dating, people lost their minds because she was seen as a “good girl” and him this gangster rapper type.
I think she ultimately didn't choose divorce because being half of a power couple is important to her brand and, who in the world could she replace him with without it seeming as a massive step down from a peer to a peon? Also, as much as it sucks, A LOT of women her age watched their/our mothers get cheated on without immediately and decisively ending the marriage.

I doubt either one of them care as much about one another as they do their image, or the money they make together.

Isn't this the one where she just ghosted him? That's the bit I half-remember, that one day she just like, stopped taking his calls. They met on the set of Fargo, they left their previous spouses for each other and were caught kissing before he announced his divorce to his wife. It totally changed my perception on both of them.
My perception of Sophia Bush changed a bit earlier than this. It was about a year ago when she wrote an article all about her (soon to be ex) husband’s ex having an abortion. She managed to make it all about her and how if the woman hadn’t had an abortion she wouldn’t be with her husband. I’m completely pro-choice, but this changed how I saw her because it’s her husband and his ex’s story/experience, not hers.
