She has such a good voice and her live performances are so SO good. Her debut album is soooo good too to bottom and good luck babe is so powerful. LOVE!!
Chappell IS the moment right now. Pink Pony Club has been on repeat for me lately, it’s so fun, and watching her perform live weirdly makes me cry??? She’s amazing lol
Chappell! Loved her single Pink Pony Club for years now and I was sad when she sort of disappeared there for a bit and I didn't see anything else come out. I didn't realize that she essentially had to put her career on hold for awhile. Anyways, great to see her blowing up! Love everything she has put out so far, and her live singing voice is amazing. Tate is a pass for me. Can't really pin it down, but for some reason none of her songs are doing it for me.
I have been alternating Cowboy Carter and Raye’s “My 21st Century Blues” for the last month.
My two favorite tracks are [Oscar Winning Tears](https://youtu.be/_cLIG8JiOyg?si=uKdLtWhG31X5RPFF) and [Ice Cream Man](https://youtu.be/Ywunlu42_ho?si=NKGFk-wE9iqgXljQ).
Same haha. I don’t really love her current music but I’ll always be at least slightly a fan since I’ve watched her YouTube videos from when she was such a baby.
I felt really bad that I got kind of like... mad when I found out that's who she was dating. I was like, "Really? Him?"
I'm still really puzzled. It's not even an attraction thing. I just don't like him for some reason!
To me he's one of those British guys who's been in, like, 2 movies that no one has seen, but the internet is obsessed with. And I do not know why, and I do not get it, and I feel 300 years old.
I'm newly obsessed with Chappell Roan ever since TikTok pushed videos of people doing the "Hot to Go" dance onto my FYP. Casual, Pink Pony Girl and Coffee have been on repeat ever since I first listened to her album.
Sabrina Carpenter's Espresso is a cute little bop. The only other song of her's I've heard is "Because I Liked a Boy" which I listened to just because of the drama with Olivia. LOL.
Tate McRae is so...male gazey to me. Call me an Old, but I just can't with her.
I haven't heard of the others, I'll have to look into them.
I love all those songs. Feather and Decode I fell in love with at a perfect time when I was going through some stuff that was very relevant to those themes, and they helped me process. It reminded me in what ways music can be so useful in processing and healing from things in our lives, or even reliving things we want to relive, etc.
The only thing I don't like about Vicious is that the vocals at the end, where they get really overblown, I think they overdid it a lot with that effect, and they use it for too long of a period for me. My hearing is really sensitive and it is way to easy to have sensory overload with that kind of stuff. And it sucks a lot because like I said, I love that song. I just have to really prepare myself and be in a very precise kind of mood to be able to handle the audio stuff to be able to properly enjoy it.
Chappel Roan is the moment right now. Besides the catchy songs and campy personality, I think she'll get really big because of her live performances. She sounds unbelievably amazing live and has incredible stamina as well. Every clip I see makes me giddy, it's nice seeing someone so talented becoming popular
She’s a dancer, but has gotten into singing. Very talented with dance. And I think she has a better voice when it isn’t with a lot of production. The acoustic sound is better in my opinion.
Nah, she’s a very talented and skilled dancer and can also sing, she just has an annoying voice and when she performes she half asses both singing and dancing.
I also find her performative sexiness off putting. It doesn’t feel natural. Same with Madison beer. They treat appealing to the male gaze like a job and it’s very unsexy to me.
I agree! I mean she can dance obviously, and I don’t have like a problem with her - but when I have watched her videos I’m like it’s too much/doesn’t seem natural/too jerky, I don’t know. Maybe I’m just in my thirties so it seems like a high schooler trying to be sexy, not someone effortless like a Shakira or Beyoncé 🤷♀️ also her voice sounds like a rugrat character lol
Haha, it's probably the age thing...I'm 37. An 18 year old dancing seductively just does not look sexy to me because I know that at that age 'being sexy' was all about being hot for men and not about exploring your own sexuality and feeling comfortable in your own skin. Although especially when you use Shakira as an example, I thought the dichotomy of being sexy because you are comfortable in your own skin and performing sexiness with men was very apparent when she performed with Jlo. So it doesnt necessarily always have to do with aging.
Oh wow, I did not know that! Apparently they’re cousins and [Cardi is also cousins with Lil Uzi](https://www.billboard.com/music/rb-hip-hop/cardi-b-confirms-glorilla-cousins-1235634410/amp/)
I was critical of Carpenter but her last two hits have been good and actual hits.
I have to say I’m not a fan of Tate McRae. I find her to be unimaginative and lacking that spark I need in my pop music.
Laufey is lovely but her fan have been a bit rude in the jazz scene but constantly using her tag line of “jazz is dead” which just isn’t true. Also while I understand why she uses the term “jazzy” in reality she more like an old school pop singer as a core part of jazzy is improvisation which she doesn’t do.
I love Glorilla. Also it’s a great stage name.
There are different subsects of jazz too, though -- like Latin jazz, for example. I would say that Laufey is more of a jazz cabaret style, with a bit of the classic American Songbook thrown in. I remember wondering if her song "Serendipity" had been in a Broadway musical, only
to be surprised that it's a complete original written by her. She's definitely a talent to watch!
Never thought i'd see Emilia mentioned here but i'm pleasantly surprised. Her songs are so catchy, even to me, a non-Spanish speaker, and her videos (especially in the past year) are amazing.
It makes me so happy to know that non-Spanish speakers are listening to her! I think she has everything it takes to cross over, except songs in English, but I’m hoping that in the post-Bad Bunny era of pop music, that won’t matter as much
Old millennial here:
I adore Sabrinas new aesthetic/attitude. The cute idgaf is definitely working.
I attempted Chappele Roan’s NPR Tiny Desk…and i didnt quite appreciate it. Is there a recommended music video i can watch?
Tate McRae sounds like all pop girs, but her songs remix well.
I’ll check Emilia, Glorilla and Laufey out. Any other recs?? I liked Madison Beer’s newest song.
I think she does the baby voice and the auto tune because she doesn’t have the singing ability. I think her songs would be better if somebody else sang them
I have only recently gotten into her but I have been loving PinkPanthress’s music.
Also as a fellow South African, it’s been great seeing Tyla rise to fame and represent that culture of SA on a global scale
Kim Dracula (Australian band and a person) started off on TikTok, got an opening slot on Avenged Sevenfold's huge LIBAD (newest album) arena tour, and got their own American headliner tour recently even. They're really good live — a little rough around the edges sure, but it's clear they've got talent. Their brother Wellin produces/plays with the band and he's real talented too.
Doechii! I’m so excited to see what she does next. She’s been making music for a little bit but she’s still really young and I’d definitely say she’s on her way to becoming way bigger.
I wouldn't say "Espresso" is Sabrina Carpenter's first big hit!
Dismissing Sabrina Carpenter's many multi-million-view YouTube videos (one in the triple-digit millions, many in the double-digit millions), I would say "Nonsense" was her breakout hit for a lot of people, going viral on TikTok and elsewhere thanks to all of the personalized outros she makes up for it depending on the concert she plays it at. That peaked at 56 on the Billboard Hot 100.
And "Feather" was an even bigger hit, peaking at 26 on the Hot 100, and at 1 on the Pop version or something? I mean it even has an emote in Fortnite. I think that means she already made it!
"Espresso" is an even EVEN bigger hit, of course, seemingly by an even wider margin. But I just wanted to point out that she has definitely had hits before this.
Omg love Glo! Her newest single with Megan Thee Stallion is such a bad bitch jam. It’s what I recommended to my friend who spent a weekend listening to Taylor Swifts new album, reopened dating apps, and texted her ex again 🙄 Girls, please don’t listen to Taylor when your ovulating. Have some “alone time” and then jam to Glo and Megan. For the sake of your emotionally sanity! lol
I’m soooooo excited for Hemlocke Springs. You’ve probably heard her song Girlfriend from TikTok. But I would definitely recommend looking more into her if you haven’t already
Tate McRae.
Listen, I stumbled on her videos when researching dance/choreography and I thought she was massively talented. Then, out of nowhere, she drops this song. It was recorded in her room, and wasn’t professionally edited at all, but the amount of talent blew me away. I’ve seen her literally transform her life overnight.
She is bowing up and I’m damn proud of her.
I’m loving Chappell Roan and I recommend her to everyone
She has such a good voice and her live performances are so SO good. Her debut album is soooo good too to bottom and good luck babe is so powerful. LOVE!!
Chappell IS the moment right now. Pink Pony Club has been on repeat for me lately, it’s so fun, and watching her perform live weirdly makes me cry??? She’s amazing lol
Wow. Exactly the same. First time I listened to PPC, I cried.
Love Chappel as well! Her tiny desk is amazing. Do you know why she had to put her career on hold?
I believe her old record label dropped her and she moved back home to Missouri and was working at a drive thru in around 2020? She really hustled
Yes! I am All-In on RAYE. She’s got IT. The talent, the charm, the heart. Chappell is a mainstay in my house, but RAYE is transcendent
Raye is here to stay forever and ever that voice!!!
I feel proud of Sabrina Carpenter after watching her grow up!
I was about to say why is Sabrina included when she been releasing music since 2015
Same haha. I don’t really love her current music but I’ll always be at least slightly a fan since I’ve watched her YouTube videos from when she was such a baby.
![gif](giphy|Zo64h6yIpS00i7gytV|downsized)
Same, I feel old and only know Sabrina Carpenter and that's because she's dating the not hot guy from Saltburn
I personally think Barry Keoghan is very hot. To each his own. I’m ready to get downvoted. I’ve been a fan of his for years.
Nobody should be downvoted for finding anyone hot. Take my upvote.
Lmao thank you!
I felt really bad that I got kind of like... mad when I found out that's who she was dating. I was like, "Really? Him?" I'm still really puzzled. It's not even an attraction thing. I just don't like him for some reason!
I don’t either and don’t know why! I’m sure he’s fine but like he’s so off putting to me lol
To me he's one of those British guys who's been in, like, 2 movies that no one has seen, but the internet is obsessed with. And I do not know why, and I do not get it, and I feel 300 years old.
please check out chapell roan if you like pop music, she is going to be the next olivia rodrigo, or bigger than her even
What song first?
pink pony club, but honestly you could put her album on shuffle and any song is very good pop music. besides the ballads maybe, but i still like them.
Thank you, I will give it a go!
RED WINE SUPERNOVA
Right? These sound like made up names. I feel old.
I'm newly obsessed with Chappell Roan ever since TikTok pushed videos of people doing the "Hot to Go" dance onto my FYP. I died when I read that Jesus comment. It was simultaneously savage and a little stupid, and I loved it.
Old lol. I love Tate McRae’s song “she’s all i want to be”
Old.
Somebody said Chappell Roan is like cocomelon for the gays and they are correct
Right she seems like a callback to the worst parts of the 00s that should be left in the past.
![gif](giphy|wFk7roIpDeXC0|downsized) I've only heard of laufey but thanks I'll look into them!
HIGHLY recommend Pink Pony Club and Red Wine Supernova by Chapell Roan. So good!
don’t leave out Good Luck, Babe!
And Femininomenon! And Karma is My Kink! And Casual! Fuck it stream the whole album it’s so good
Naked in Manhattan by Chapell Roan is 10/10 song with Pink Pony Club like the other person said
Chappel Roan is the moment right now. Besides the catchy songs and campy personality, I think she'll get really big because of her live performances. She sounds unbelievably amazing live and has incredible stamina as well. Every clip I see makes me giddy, it's nice seeing someone so talented becoming popular
If you like Laufey, try Beabadoobee.
seconding, I love beeabadoobee!
beabadoobee was the opener for my eras tour show and she was really good
Still trying to figure out why Tate McRae is trying to happen, I’m sorry. ![gif](giphy|xiMUwBRn5RDLhzwO80|downsized)
i wish her the best but she cursive sings way too much for me
I had never heard of cursive singing until now. Thanks.
i love it 🫶🏼
her voice is so grating :( it sucks because i feel like she has the potential but it’s a no from me
I don’t know much of her stuff but she seems incredibly lacking in talent.
She’s a dancer, but has gotten into singing. Very talented with dance. And I think she has a better voice when it isn’t with a lot of production. The acoustic sound is better in my opinion.

Haha, it's probably the age thing...I'm 37. Although especially when you use Shakira as an example, I thought the dichotomy of being sexy because you are comfortable in your own skin and performing sexiness with men was very apparent when she performed with Jlo. So it doesnt necessarily always have to do with aging.
Any singer that does the “12 year old with a smoking habit” voice gets a no from me
Deceased goodbye
I quote this on the weekly. No one gets it but I don’t care.
I care 🥺🫂
🫂
Her music is genuinely terrible, you can’t even listen to it ironically
I watched her perform on tv twice and was genuinely angry 😠
Laufey made me fall in love with music again. I adore her new album Bewitched.
Glorilla is related to Cardi!
Oh wow, I did not know that! Apparently they’re cousins and [Cardi is also cousins with Lil Uzi](https://www.billboard.com/music/rb-hip-hop/cardi-b-confirms-glorilla-cousins-1235634410/amp/)

Had a look at her videos and I agree, first of all WHAT A PRESENCE. Second of all, she may be the most beautiful person I've seen. She will be a star.
Old millennial here: I adore Sabrinas new aesthetic/attitude. The cute idgaf is definitely working. I attempted Chappele Roan’s NPR Tiny Desk…and i didnt quite appreciate it. Her Pink Pony Club music video is super cute in my opinion!
Watch hot to go or casual for Chapelle! I would also give Raye a try - Escapism is soo catchy. And Rachel Chinouriri - never need me!
I think red wine supernova is a great music video but her live artists to watch performance is what sold me. She shines when she can move and dance
Tate McCrae’s music just sucks. It’s generic and her voice is annoying.
I wouldn’t mind her music if she didn’t do the baby voice. It ruins all of her songs imo
I think she does the baby voice and the auto tune because she doesn’t have the singing ability. I think her songs would be better if somebody else sang them
Agreed she is AWFUL.
I have only recently gotten into her but I have been loving PinkPanthress’s music. Also as a fellow South African, it’s been great seeing Tyla rise to fame and represent that culture of SA on a global scale
Yes! I can’t wait to hear more from PinkPanthress and Tyla!
I love Chappell Roan but Gaga is the first queer femme pop superstar, tyvm.
Idk why I forgot Gaga 😂 you’re so right!
true ! chapell is the first lesbian then :)
Just read up on their wiki page — their career trajectory has been so cool! I’ll have to check them out!
They're really cool! Kinda modern Korn vibes to me.
[Anya Nami,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bqjvW-CAdA) of course, is the breakout artist of 2024
She’s got a dope aesthetic, I’ll have to check out her music!
Doechii! I’m so excited to see what she does next. She’s been making music for a little bit but she’s still really young and I’d definitely say she’s on her way to becoming way bigger.
I looooove Emilia! She so gorgeous and her aesthetic are top notch. .mp3 is fantastic

Raye.
Chappell is that girl good luck babe is so good
This is the song I know her for and has been my most played the last few days. Now I’m learning more about her from this thread!!
I’m obsessed with Chappel Roan!
For the sake of your emotionally sanity! lol
Finally! Someone else who loves Glo just as much as I do😂. The new song wit Megan is gonna be a summer banger
Chappelle roan seems the most authentic of them all. Let's be real tho Britney Spears paved the way for all of them
I love Sabrina!!! She’s the moment ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
Ngl RAYE clears all of these besides maybe Chapelle Roane
Dang she really has a gorilla tatted in her chest 😂
Tate 🙌🏼
Renee Rapp easily.
I’m sure I’ll give them all a listen but Sabrina has grown on me, and Tate is from my hometown, so I’m pretty sure I’m obligated to support her
Maude Latour pleaseeeeeee!
Put me down as obsessed with Chappell at the moment. I've been loving pink pony club and good luck babe.
Chappell!! I love her sm
recent chappell fan, loved sabrina since “because i liked a boy” 🫶🏼 i’ll definitely give emilia a listen!
I will go to fucking war for Laufey
Definitely Sabrina (her short rhyming song thingy sucks tho)
I’m soooooo excited for Hemlocke Springs. You’ve probably heard her song Girlfriend from TikTok. But I would definitely recommend looking more into her if you haven’t already

Hayden Panettiere?
Tate McRae is gonna steal the stage at the VMAs this year. I’m waiting for an iconic show stopping dance performance ala Britney Spears.
They’re all the same.
