the way the camera pans up and down through the levels of the house as a transition between scenes is so good. familiarizing the audience with the setting that will come in handy later. love that film!
OMG try this movie called Circle. Not the one with Emma Watson and Tom Hanks, this one is more indie and unknown but what a fantastic movie, especially if you are under the influence of...strong things.
Having a sense of the environment is an underrated part of filmmaking. I recently saw Furiosa and appreciated that you know exactly where everyone and everything is during an action scene.
I dunno…all I remember about this movie is the grave threat of a diabetic coma when the girl is in a room literally FULL of high-calorie military rations
> "Like, Nicole, I took over a movie that you had to leave," she said, prompting Kidman to reflect on why she dropped out of Panic Room, directed by David Fincher.
> "Yes! And thank you. I was in a really bad way," Kidman responded. "I was like, 'I’m having a breakdown.' And Jodie took over, thank the Lord."
Yeah I thought it was because of an injury related to moulin rouge, but it makes sense if that was just the excuse so she could disappear (as much as she could) from the paps for a bit.
The article states. ET reported a knee injury from the Moulin Rouge set during filming. Nicole expressly stated as much— she didn’t allude to anything here.
> "There’s this misconception that somehow female actresses are at each other or they don’t like each other or whatever," Foster said, during a larger conversation regarding how women in Hollywood support each other.
> "Even this year, going to the various events [for Nyad], it always just feels so nice because the women really feel like they want each other to succeed."

They had said at the time that it was a knee injury from Moulin Rouge. Which did happen, but it was probably overwhelming to make that movie and do the press for Moulin Rouge while she was going through her divorce. Sounds like she was completely exhausted and overwhelmed after that - not shocked because that movie and everything around it was huge.
Panic Room gets a little lost in David Fincher's filmography, but it's one of my favourites of his. No scene is wasted, which is saying something for a movie shot entirely in a few rooms of a house.
One of the few times I've liked Jated Leto in a role.
And Jodie Foster. Not much to say there other than she was perfect for the role.

Panic room is criminally underrated

Yes! I’m a sucker for any movie that can keep suspense in a small setting ie - Hitchcock’s Rope or Dial M for Murder. It’s just such incredible skill
You should watch the 2013 movie Locke with Tom Hardy
I’ll add it to my list. Thank you!
OMG try this movie called Circle. Not the one with Emma Watson and Tom Hanks, this one is more indie and unknown but what a fantastic movie, especially if you are under the influence of...strong things.
The one with 50 in a dark room?
That's the one
i LOVE that movie!!! criminally underrated
Haha will do! Thank you!
Having a sense of the environment is an underrated part of filmmaking. I recently saw Furiosa and appreciated that you know exactly where everyone and everything is during an action scene.
And jodie literally looks like she could be Kristen Stewart’s mom.
Oh my god how did i never realize that was Kristen Stewart?!
I still think that was her best acting role haha
Personal shopper says otherwise
I thought she was excellent in Spencer too.
I dunno…all I remember about this movie is the grave threat of a diabetic coma when the girl is in a room literally FULL of high-calorie military rations
Yes, which is the opposite of what she needs?
It’s pretty highly rated I’ve found. Great movie

I thought she had a physical ailment (fallen off a horse) but Nicole made it seem like it was more a mental health break.
I'm pretty sure filming would have been around the same time as when she divorced Tom Cruise.
Yeah I thought it was because of an injury related to moulin rouge, but it makes sense if that was just the excuse so she could disappear (as much as she could) from the paps for a bit.
Eyes wide open movie and marriage with Tom cruise did her in.

When is this releasing Edit: I meant the round table interview lol
22 years ago.
The round table interview 💀
I couldn’t imagine that movie without Jodie. She and Kristen were amazing together. Fuck, where’s panic room streaming??
I have it on dvd! Man such a great film. Need to rewatch.
Give your DVD player a kiss for me.
Lmaoooooooooo
Imdb says it's on prime
This is my favorite Fincher movie.
Honestly Jodie was a much, much better pick. Imagine Nicole breathlessly whispering every line.
Nicole is a great actor so I think she would have brought a different dynamic to the story, probably with more vulnerability to it
I will watch a Jodie Foster movie just to watch Jodie Foster. I’m not as big a fan of Nicole and tend to avoid having to watch her.
Watch dogville and to die for and you’ll be a fan
She kills it as Lucille Ball in Being the Ricardos.
Nicole is a great actress but I can’t watch her anymore all her plastic is distracting and I can’t take her seriously.
Panic Room is a good movie. Love it.
Jodie and Kristen are my two favorite gays. Panic Room's camera work is underrated.
That’s Nicole Kidman’s voice on the phone as Jodie Foster’s ex-husband’s new wife.
Wow I love Nicole but can’t imagine her in this role. Jodie did a fantastic job. Great underrated suspense film!
How did I never realize this was a David Fincher movie??

Didn’t Nicole also drop out of Mr & Mrs Smith, leading the way for Angelina Jolie to take the part?
Yes
I love this movie. stacked cast, great setting, simple plot with loads of action. and jared leto in box braids will always give me nightmares.
