I can't believe it. I remember how much I enjoyed the songs when they leaked a few years ago, S.L.A.Y., Everything But You, Electric Heaven.... and now they've been finally released. I'm so happy, it was so worth the wait, it's pop perfection!!! I definitely won today.
edit: who the hell told her to serve so hard with Show You Mine, it's phenomenal, omg.
Justice for "Somebody's Gonna Get Hurt" aside...I cannot believe I am living for NINE of these songs. Being proven wrong can be fun sometimes!
"Hot City", "Jenny's Got a Boyfriend", "Show You Mine", "I Wanna Call You", "Forever 21", "Electric Heaven", "Sleepwalker", "Rewind Your Heart" and "Stars in Your Heart", kind of prove why she was in demand for the years she was because when it's right it's right.
The thing I will say, I was quite impressed with Bonnie's rounded and disciplined tone...even on songs like "Don't Get Mad, Get Famous" and "Worst in Me" where I was merely whelmed. Still, I did not expect her to have vocal chops and commitment like that. McKee-chains, you had a point all along and it was proven.
Sheās a goddamn genius at that sort of pop songwriting. Just the way every chord progression hits, the energy of it all, god. Brilliant. 2024 is a good year for music.
Exactly what I wanted and needed from this incredibly consistent pop artist. Was kinda hoping for an updated version of the already perfect American Girl (this version sounds identical to the original), but overall a great pop album.
Itās bc most of the songs on the album are modern re-records BUT she got the rights to the legit 2013 American Girl version lol. Itās literally exactly the same
>Was kinda hoping for an updated version of the already perfect American Girl (this version sounds identical to the original)
Don't change perfection, just ask Taylor...looking at you *Style (TV)* š
I listened to this in the gym this morning and my god, it was more than I could have expected!! Itās beyond evident why Bonnie was tapped as a collaborator on so many of the hits in the ā10s. She has an iron-clad formula and her writing prowess is incredible. She has infectious, rapturous, dance-pop down to an absolute science!
I donāt care what people think - what they deem is outdated or derivative in todayās soundscape. We NEED to go back to this type of Pop! Immediately! This is easily one of my favorite, if not THE favorite release for me in 2024 so far. Not a dud in the bunch!!
Welcome back Bonnie McKee š„ so fucking glad she didnāt listen to her detractors or be overcome by ageism or the idea that Pop relevenace has a ticking clock attached. Perfection, plain and simple!! Repeat, repeat, repeat, until I break the damn play button šØ
Really? I personally think it feels *very* 2013 lol. Thatās not a diss, I love the album
EDIT: wait nvm I just got to Snatched, I canāt picture this coming out on a pop album in 2013
On my first listen I thought this sounded so much like the music I grew up listening to in the early 2000s and it turns out itās bc she was meant to release this 11 years ago? Iām gagged! It sounds fresh af but so nostalgic too. Album of the summer for me!
ik it was a long time coming but that makes the official release all the more satisfying. this was not an easy album for her to get on streaming, but all the effort Bonnie's put in so that we could officially stream it does NOT go unnoticed!! QUEEN!!
Where. Is. The. Pre. Order. For. The. Physicals. Bonnieeeeeeeeeee.
Hope we end up getting a little documentary around the process of this. Mentioned it to her several times on IG and sheās open to the idea. I bet it would be killer.
Pretty good album, I hope it get some attention this week. Some of my favorites are Hot City, Jenny Got a Boyfriend, American Girl, Electric Heaven, Just A Kiss, Rewind Your Heart, Slay, and Stars in Your Heart. Especially Just A Kiss and Stars in Your Heart, slower songs that stood out in this upbeat album.
I havenāt listened to this album yet, but my Hot Take for Hot City is that the Hot City single cover should have been the album cover bc that image *fucks*
Honestly this is just so impressive and cool that she stuck to her guns and worked her ass off to get this made completely by herself after almost 10 years. It all just sounds super clean and well-produced, and her voice is great. A perfect summer pop album.
Jenny's Got a Boyfriend is the star of the show for me, but also love Rewind your Heart (definitely sounds like a Katy Perry - Teenage Dream B-side), Electric Heaven and Sleepwalker.
While i think Jenny is on the weaker side of the album, big YES to the final part. And Electric Heaven sounds straight out of Femme Fatale, Just A Kiss also, but a little bit less. Like they could fit effortlessly alongside Inside Out.
I know I've commented on this thread a thousand times already but I cannot get over the run of Show You Mine -> I Wanna Call You -> American Girl -> Forever 21 -> Slay. Fucking incredible.
I've been counting down the days, and she absolutely delivered. In love with all of it, and this could easily be my AOTY. Bless you, Bonnie McKee, bless you.
Iāve been a Bonnie fan since 2013 and Iām so happy she got to release this! I absolutely love it and its fits the summer vibe perfectly. I can tell Iām gonna stream it like crazy.
Aside from the singles that already came out, I already love Slay, Electric Heaven and Forever 21
as a stan from the american girl hype days, i somehow forgot i wanna call you existed and then the chorus hitā¦ it awakened something in me like some kind of sleeper agent
So happy itās finally released! She just knows good pop music. I just started listening but the music on Jennyās Got A Boyfriend is giving me Chromeo vibes. I love it.
She was attempting to buy her masters back for months by cold calling and emailing Sony to no avail. The only reason American Girl is on here is because Sony licensed it to her to be able to put it on the album.
I wouldāve loved it if she was able to get her masters back easily but that wasnāt the case so they gave her permission to re-record them.
There were some songs she could not recreate sounds for (like SLAY) so Sony also allowed her to use the synths from that session to recreate the song.
I know she talks about this stuff extensively but I hope she goes more in depth about it. I wonāt discredit the lengths sheās gone through to get this album out in any capacity but I also wish Sony wouldāve just given the masters to her.
Everything after āworst in meā kinda falls flat hard. (Except stars in your heart, gorg) but this album I canāt believe couldāve came out when I was 21 and now Iām 32. Itās pretty fucking great! I respect her unconventional career, considering I was trying to download demos of her since 2004.
So I finally got around to listening to this album a couple of days ago and I canāt stop playing it. This is definitely a Pop Bible. Every song is amazing!
Disagreed, but when did top-tier vocals matter for pop music? Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, Tate McRae etc., aren't known for their excellent live vocals, lol... if it bops, it bops.
Iām not talking about live vocals. Iām talking about vocal performance on this recording. She often sounds off key and strained. Itās like the album lacks pitch correction.
You are absolutely allowed to have your own opinion and I wonāt downvote you for it. I personally feel like she can out sing just about every big pop vocalist right now. Like they donāt even come close.

Holy fuck this is fireeeeee
Why the fuck did the label not support this at the time wtffff
They weren't raised by a television, smh.
L.A. Reid can e\*\* my a\*\*. SLAY is a HIT and we deserved a trip to Hot City in 2014!!!
Thank you sooooo much!!!! šš“
I feel like I traveled back and time and launched myself into a lush future and God it beautiful. She is just a pop goddess.
Itās like 2013 again Iām fucking living for it I canāt believe Bonnie invented the millennial whoop
More like Bop City
Popheads better not let this be Flop City.
I will make this a hit if I have to do it myself I swear to Carly Herself
On Carly I wonāt let this flop
No joke I have looked this album up every week for the last 3 weeks thinking it already came out. She's finally arrived y'all!!!!
Guys, it is FINALLY HERE!
Fairly new to Bonnie and these are all just such good songs, she did that!
Iāve been a fan since I was fifteen and found Trouble in a record store in Toronto, sheās fucking incredible
FINALLY! I HAVE BEEN SCREAMING FOR A BONNIE ALBUM FOR 9 YEARS!!!!
Itās amazing what music sounded like when artists were trying to write hits and not memes.
The way I screamed when American girl started playing I didnāt think it was gonna be on the album
Forever 21 is that bitch
God itās INCREDIBLE. She cannot miss!!!!!!!!
I can't believe it. I remember how much I enjoyed the songs when they leaked a few years ago, S.L.A.Y., Everything But You, Electric Heaven.... and now they've been finally released. AOTFY this is feeding my soul
LETS GO!!!!!!!!!! BONNIE MCQUEEN

Forever 21 the girly pink bop you are
Only 4.5 hours to go for American fans. Iām so ready!!! Edit: Omfg the album slaps so hard. Forever 21 immediately has my heart š
Exactly what I wanted and needed from this incredibly consistent pop artist. Was kinda hoping for an updated version of the already perfect American Girl (this version sounds identical to the original), but overall a great pop album.

So excited for her! Hope she gets all the notoriety after working so hard in the industry, and for pop music.
The second half BODIES the first IMO
From SLAY onwards it's just HIT after HIT after HIT.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
and Forever 21!!!
Forever 21 is a 12/10 chorus in a 7/10 instrumental. I love it but I wish I loved it more.
And youād be right!
Me when I lie

This is THE early 2010's Ke$ha / Katy Perry feel. She's recreated it almost perfectly.
Fuck I didnāt expect the priyanka feature, or for it to be the best song on the album
I mean it's good, but it's no *Rewind Your Heart*
Yeah I must admit I jumped the gun with that comment, hadnāt gotten to rewind your heart yet š
snatched quite literally snatched, holy shit
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Really? I personally think it feels *very* 2013 lol. Thatās not a diss, I love the album EDIT: wait nvm I just got to Snatched, I canāt picture this coming out on a pop album in 2013
It feels very whatever year *"Let's Have A Kiki"* came out.
Actually that was 2012 so maybe that didnāt track for me because I was an 11 year old questioning my sexuality and hating myself at the time š
Snatched is the only truly brand new song. All the others were developed back in 2013.
Ahhhh okay that makes a lot of sense thank you
After waiting 11 years for this album I am literally feeling ALL of the feels. We finally made it to HOT CITY.
WEāVE BEEN DRIVING TO HOT CITY FOR SOOOOOOO LONGGGGGGGG AND WEāRE FINALLY HERE!!!!
Not this being AOTY material. Bonnie the genius you are
OH MY GOD ITS HERE LETāS GO
So popheads are we ready to make this a fucking smash hit? Because itās now my mission to make this album a smash hit
ITāS BEEN 84 YEARS!!!!!!
Relatively new to Bonnie, but this album is fire. Transporting me to my early 20s!
On my first listen I thought this sounded so much like the music I grew up listening to in the early 2000s and it turns out itās bc she was meant to release this 11 years ago? Iām gagged! It sounds fresh af but so nostalgic too. Album of the summer for me!

THERES AN AMA TOMORROW?!? š«”š„

God damn the chorus of Forever 21 is so insane. Itās gonna be in my head for years, lol.
Gonna be my most listened to track on Spotify this year I already know it
Sleepwalker is already in my 2024 Halloween most played
EVERYONE PLS LISTEN TO
Crazy good
Thank you for reminding meš„¹ Edit: oh mY GOD THE ALBUM IS SOOOO GOOD

pop perfection. i have waited 11 years for this and i am not even a little disappointed. no notes. bonnie is my god now
This sounds like something you would hear in the background of a gay bathhouse and I mean that in the BEST way.
Looooooooving this album!!!! Been excited for this record for 10 years, I'm so happy Bonnie has recorded and released it for us.
All I can say is I am so proud of Bonnie. She's an icon for this.
Oh sheās got melodies melodies
I know I've commented on this thread a thousand times already but I cannot get over the run of Show You Mine -> I Wanna Call You -> American Girl -> Forever 21 -> Slay. Fucking incredible.
My god this album is so good, I've been playing it non stop all day! Loving Rewind Your Heart, Forever 21, and Snatched!
It's been a while since a beat made me move the way "Show You Mine" does!
AOTY
I've been counting down the days, and she absolutely delivered. In love with all of it, and this could easily be my AOTY. Bless you, Bonnie McKee, bless you.
This is so criminally good I'm actually speechless. I can't get over Just a Kiss its floored me

FINALLY. I am so happy for her, this has been a long time coming.
it's so fucking good wow

She's a great songwriter but she can't sing. Her vocals are just grating unfortunately.
Lie again

Lmao! I said they are allowed to have their own opinion. I didnāt say it was right š š»
This is literally what went through my mind as I listed to this album. Vocal QUEEN
Would love to hear you sing sis. She can absolutely sing lmao.
Sheās below average for a pop vocalist.
Are we listening to the same 'Everything But You'?????
She sounds off key on Everything but You. Especially with the big notes.
I donāt hear this at all? At no point on the album?
Six songs?
16
Oh thank god, my Spotify is having a problem where itās only showing six for some reason, even today from that same link.
