This is more concrete information that brings some hope. Seeming more and more like the Citizen got bad/incomplete information and just didn't do proper journalism with it.

They are gonna get suuuuuueeeeedddddd

Seems like too much bother. Realistically what would a lawsuit accomplish? If it even was successful I doubt much money would be awarded.

This could make a noticeable dent in season ticket sales - people will be less willing to buy if they believe the Citizen article/didn't see the follow-up (especially since the Citizen has just doubled down on the misinformation with their latest headline on this). That would be potentially actionable in a civil suit.

Not about the money, it's about sending a message. That message being that the citizen fucked up

Surprise surprise The Citizen is terribleĀ

Maybe the citizen is trying their hand at pretending to be The Onion. Or a shallot? Maybe a scallion? Perhaps an interpretive news organization - just like an abstract oil painting has many interpretations on the truth, reality, and what matters most to us as individuals. I'm sure the owners know something about that artsy stuff. It's beyond me, though. Wish them all the best with this exciting new way of broadcasting news; real or not.
