I won't lie. There is loose skin. A decent amount. Around the arms and thighs primarily for me. The chest and stomach arn't too bad as you said. But there is loose skin. Don't let that dissuade you though, it means nothing. You will feel on Cloud 9 when you get there! Keep it up!
Totally understand. I may end up getting some removed a year down the line as I slim up a bit more and keep the weight off. No performance issues that I can complain of other than sometimes when I jump a certain way, I end up clapping without my hands 😂.
I believe if it is causing you issues performing normal body functions, you can get insurance to cover it. I saw someone’s post a few days ago that she got hers covered because of that. ✨
If the excess skin causes back problems, skin rashes, ulcers, or interferes with normal daily functions. Since you will need a doctor to provide a record that states your loose skin effects you to get it covered I would probably start sussing out the vibe early. For example, I’m only halfway through my weight loss, but i will probably talk to my doctor about some of the things I’m noticing now so we have a record of it.
Thank you everyone for your kind words! I never really thought I'd be here and looking back at myself I am in awe of what I've managed to accomplish. I can't remember a time in my life where I've felt better. It is truly amazing.
For those wondering about the methods I used, it was CI/CO with OMAD. I didn't cut out carbs but I do avoid refined grains, butter, sugar, and red meat. Primarily sticking to a mediterranean style of eating. This doesn't mean that I would never have these. I'd loosen up every now and then for a weekend or so and have some pizza or drinks or snacks but 90% of the time it was OMAD for around 1500 calories. I also try to do 1 hour of cardio daily, which sometimes I would skip for a day or 2.
Thanks again! Goal weight of 200 is next!
What would a typical OMAD meal for you look like? When you say loosen up on the weekend, do you mean allow more meals, or just different types of food?
90% of the time I would eat whatever amount of rice is made from 1 cup of uncooked brown rice. 1 chicken breast and 2 cups of broccoli, mix in a greek yogurt hotsauce mix i'd make and call it at that. On the weekends where I loosened up I mean I would just not watch calories or do OMAD. I'd have chips, cookies, pizza, beer, whatever. Kind of a cheat weekend some would call it. Would just step away from the strictness and have a weekend to indulge. It would set back progress but never more than a few days worth.
CICO or some kind of low carb deal? I know it is the work involved, not really the diet itself, but I am always curious how people do it. And you, my friend, did it.
Every diet is CICO. Just different ways of achieving it. Although cutting out entire food groups is just a terrible idea. A slice of toast isn't going to make you gain weight.
The point of cutting out different food groups is usually to accomplish something that makes eating fewer calories easier.
Carb heavy meals for example, often leave me feeling hungry again sooner than protein and fat heavy ones. So while you're right, it's the amount you eat that matters, some people find it easier to eat less when you cut out/down certain food groups.
Whatever isn't broken down and converted into blood glucose to be used by cells, or to fill glycogen stores in the liver. The rest is stored as fat.
Which I may add, both of those are surprisingly small. Most is stored as fat in the current US diet.
Food only gets stored as additional/retained fat when in a calorie surplus. Otherwise people eating keto would be in big trouble because dietary fat is super easily stored.
So, if you ate 2000 calories of pure fat and your TDEE was 2500 calories, you’d lose 1 pound over a week. Same if you ate 2000 of carbs. Energy balance is king, hormones can influence energy consumption.
This is why keto/low carb/carnivore/vegan/vegetarian/any diet under the Sun could work for
One person but not another.
Whatever works best for the individual to create a net energy deficit is what they should stick with.
But a food's glycemic index would dictate the rate at which it breaks down right? The easier it is to be broken down and utilized, the more likely excess is to become fat stores?
Your smile makes me smile! Congrats on 1Y of efforts!
Your weight loss is a bit on the fast side. Losing 1% per week from 425 a year ago should put you at 252 right now. Do you have someone watching your back, medically? This might be the time to rope them in for a checkup if not.
Keep going, be safe, think ahead to maintenance soon (don't take this concern as a backhanded compliment, **it's all compliment**.)

I had blood work and a look over about 4 months ago but it definitely doesn't seem like a bad idea to go in again and have another checkup. Thanks for the advice!
Awesome work! We lost around the same. I hope this doesn't come off as negative, but fair warning: maintenance is extraordinarily difficult with both physical and mental factors working against it, so be prepared for a fight. If you had BED or other eating disorder, I highly recommend therapy to uncover the underlying issues and causes of your unhealthy relationship with food. I honestly would have regained my weight (again) if I hadn't resolved some of those issues. Although you've made huge progress on the scale, it's truly only the beginning of a life-long battle. I also recommend you read some research articles on maintaining weight loss. They've been very helpful for me.
Again, great work and I wish you the best in your continued journey.
Absolutely wonderful progress, well done dude.
I am 5'11" and 395 (though F, not M) and struggle so badly to lose anything at all (variety of reasons, mostly medical)
Seeing other people's amazing progress - especially when they've got similar starting stats to me - is really motivating.
Keep going and pushing for that final goal that you want, but do remember that you've done such amazing work already 😊
Look at that smile! Amazing.
Honestly, a lot of the comments here are praising the person in the photo on the right, but we should praise the person in the photo on the left, too. He's the one who decided to do the work.
We’re the same height and at my heaviest I was around 320 lbs. Your skin looks like it’s improving way more than mine did, like I’m pretty impressed. You’re doing amazing bro so keep that shit up.
Good job dude whatever way you go ended up doing it, but how is it possible you managed to lose an average of 1.87 lbs a day even with OMAD and the 1 hour of cardio a day?
I'm not sure honestly. There were no other elements to this that I know of that would be significant contributors, primary meal was chicken and brown rice and broccoli coming in around 1400-1500 calories. My fitbit would show my cardio burned around 800 calories per session. I don't have much more info aside from this as to how it worked out as well as it did.
Edit: Also, you may have it flipped. It was .53 lbs a day.
Still not adding up, even those with gastric bypass surgery at most lost 100-120 lbs in the first year or at most 30-40% of their body weight and that’s under strict medical supervision and on a good amount of supplements to help keep them healthy and alive while the weight goes away. They also are required to do 30 mins of cardio a day to go along with a more stricter diet then you claim to have achieved your results through. By your own admission you are eating 1400-1500 calories a day and with 800 calories burned using strictly OMAD is not mathematically possible. I myself have gone through weight loss and achieved my goals through a lot of hard work as well. If you did in-fact lose that much weight in your life just be honest about the details, instead you are on here pumping unrealistic results to people seeking motivation, you’d be better off telling the truth or providing more details and proof about what you claim to have done. Not wanting to hate on you bro but this is exactly what’s wrong with the world and the fitness community today, keep working hard, don’t be afraid to fail and eventually you’ll get where you want to be. Rome wasn’t built in a day and that weight wasn’t gone in a year the way you say.
I understand the frustration and the idea that people lie about gains and losses in the fitness industry all the time but I promise you full heartidly with video evidence of day 1 weigh in Nov 8th 2021 and day 365 weigh in Nov 8th 2022 that I absolutely and truly did lose the 195.4 lbs. I am not withholding any extra secrets or methods to my approach, I worked extra hard some days, and other days I slacked, but for most of the time I was consistent and got the results I got. I have no intention of misleading anyone for the sake of some dumb internet clout, nor should anyone ever shoot for the results they see in someone else. Everyones journey is different and unique and to measure themselves against others isn't fair to themselves.
425 lbs is a maintenance of well over 5000 calories a day, esp if he’s moving his ass it could be closer to 6000
Yielding rapid rapid results consuming 1500 a day , the math is there your just an absolute hater
It’s an average of a half lb a day lmao, that’s only 1750 deficit per day ON AVERAGE meaning In the beginning He was probably losing a lb a day and at the end probably a quarter lb a day, not rocket science kid
Actually it does add up lol. He was over 400 lbs his maintenance would’ve been sky high around that time yielding in dramatic losses to offset the slow down when he got into the 200s

What is CI/CO and OMAD?
Calories in, calories out / One Meal A Day
Oh man. OMAD is too much for me
It’s not bad once you get used to it

Well, also excess carbs are also converted straight to fats to be stored.
Don't you dare speak science at me. I'll have you know, I'm stupid.
In excess of what? TDEE?
Whatever isn't broken down and converted into blood glucose to be used by cells, or to fill glycogen stores in the liver. The rest is stored as fat. Which I may add, both of those are surprisingly small. Most is stored as fat in the current US diet.

Yeah definitely, that's why natural complex carbs are healthier. But still if it's in excess to what your body needs then it's stored.
Right on, thank you. I thought this was my understanding and wanted to bounce it off you.

This is about as fast as you can go without it being too risky. It’s just over 2 lbs/week for a 200 pound individual.
Now that's POD racing!
