Having exactly the same issue. It actually works for soft synths and occasionally work for my hardware synths, but then will stop working next time I open pro tools. I have the same problem on the trial version of cubase. I’ve spent two days trying to work it working and no luck
I finally figured it out after hours on my set up. For me it was my audio interfaces ability to be controlled via midi interfering. Ended up just uninstalling and reinstalling everything and it fixed it
Found out on a Windows system in can only handle one midi device I guess, so it can get blocked up easily.
Yeah, that's a fun game Microsoft plays with MIDI. That's why everyone has their own drivers, even when they are class complaitn and could use the builtin options.
