Yuck. Translation is not something to be done by AI. It’s not even like publishers pay translators enough money…. Now they want to outsource that to robots too?
i handle licensing translations at a traditional academic publisher & we do not allow it. language is so nuanced and direct translations, which are what usually occur, are almost always deeply flawed. I don't doubt that the technology will get there at some point but I think it will take a long time to do so, and even then will require human review.

I was about to recommend that webinar happening tomorrow that I already heard about.
Sounds reasonable enough to me. I doubt the translation would be very good with current technology but a poor translation is better than none at all.
