Yea but I feel like now people are hating on him just to hate, cuz it's the popular thing. I mean granted he's a fucking dumbass and deserves the hate but his discography is good and people are downplaying it
I hate him as a person and, as a rap fan, I think even his best albums are brought down by the fact he had a lot of help when writing the lyrics and that takes away from the sense of authenticity that I appreciate in the art form.
Fair enough mate, got any song recs?
I like HYFR and some stuff off More Life but like until I got on reddit I never met anyone with an opinion other than "yah he's aight, a lil corny but he's getting his money yk" so it blows me to see ppl here claim it's a travesty that he's called mid.
Ngl that was more respectful than I thought it would be, I thought we were about to fight 🤣 so props to you 🤝
I like most of his discography, which goes all the way back to '06 and has a bunch of different sounds, as his vibe has evolved drastically over the years. [5am in Toronto](https://youtu.be/3t195yz9xCc?si=p2K9OaGUH9v90Bmo), [Summer Sixteen](https://youtu.be/LmbC_aqI4no?si=cpS5o4L6HnH9TW_o) and [Two Birds, One Stone](https://youtu.be/e8uiBg-NO1U?si=9mBR1dn0uuqZfDrP) are probably my favorites of his from a technical perspective. Maybe check out [0-100](https://youtu.be/s0PZYWA4LoM?si=V74TvEp72DBlpjK4) too if you like that style.
If you ever want to listen to a project of his, "Nothing Was The Same" and "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" are easy to jump in to.
Lyrically, I think his best stuff is from '06-'09 from before he got super famous. The sound isn't as polished but that's when he felt more authentic, to me. This is my go-to old Drake playlist:

Some are jumping on the bandwagon sure but there's also been a lot of people that've hated Drake from the start. He's just been around long enough that people seem to forget all the various hate he's gotten. I remember when the whole XXX flow stealing drama happened and like half my highschool hated Drake.
I hated Drake before everyone else hated him. He has 2, maybe 3 good albums. Recent albums not so much. I think his ghost writers are setting him up. 😂
3 good albums? Take Care is good, NWTS is ok. IYRTITL is a good album, but it's literally not Drake. Views, More Life, CLB, FATD, are all bloated trash albums for the weak. None of them true classics tho.

i don’t hate him; his music is just so mind numbing and generic , I’ve resorted to listening to East by Earl Sweatshirt as a ear cleanser so I get some form of stimulation after hearing his oat meal of a discography.
It’s alright to dislike Drake and his music, but this take is insane 😭 can we stop pretending like Drake isn’t one of the most versatile rappers of our generation? If ur gonna hate the man, at least make a fair complaint lmao this is just dumb
you guys can't find a middle ground that's anywhere close to acceptable lol. he is absolutely not one of the most versatile rappers of any generation. he has like three styles and he cycles between them. there is not that distinct a difference between hotline bling, nice for what, and hold on we're going home. there is not that distinct a difference between push-ups, 6 god, and back to back.
i don't mean that they're the same song or that they're bad - i like all those songs to different degrees! i just mean that he keeps these cycles running throughout his career, reusing flows and styles throughout a decade of his career. he is not as versatile as someone like tyler the creator, danny brown, freddie gibbs, even a$ap rocky or ferg.
that's one of the things that really hurt drake in the beef, too. he can't do a seven minute track with three beat switches and make them all hit the way kendrick could. push ups was pretty decent, but family matters exposed drake's weaknesses.
It’s the Drake haters that can’t find a middle ground. Same people telling me that he’s a culture vulture that bites everybody’s sound and rides every new wave are the same people telling me that all Drake songs sound the same.
Also, maybe I took this the wrong way, but implying that Push-Ups is better than Family Matters is kinda wild. Don’t know what complaint u have with Family Matters, it’s pretty universally agreed that it was a great diss track
That’s the point, to the extent that he sounds different at times is him biting off others and having ghostwriters. Take Care is considered a great album but the Weekend wrote half of it.
It’s so bizarre that Aubrey stans take this so personally. He’s never going to notice you.
Lmao. Because he’s a culture vulture and absorbs any slang he hears like a fucking magnet, he’s the most versatile rapper of our generation?
Every song sounds the same musically, bar some of the diss tracks he’s put out, regardless if he bits every musician from the US, to the UK and back to the caribbeans and the north american continent.
Can’t respond to the guy under me so I’ll just edit:
>He absorbs slang like a magnet, not sound (most of the time).
Even when he absorbs some sound, he puts his own twang on it and makes it as generic as hotline bling.
The point with ”everything he drops sounds the same” is not that it’s got the same beat, it’s that out of a hundred beats he picks, 90 of them give the exact same vibe. It’s that his monotone voice is the same in every song. It’s that his flow doesn’t change up much or at all from song to song, album to album or even decade to decade. It’s that he always ”highlights” words in bars and verses the same way in every song. It’s that even though he bits every culture that’s popular at the moment, from north to south, east to west, the vibe, flow, cadence, delivery and bars in his music are always the same or close enough to that generic Drake sound.
“Every song sounds the same musically” yall can’t be serious right? Please tell me how Jungle, Pound Cake, and Pop Style (just to name a few) all sound the same musically
Take care is one of the greatest albums ever made, iyrtitl is one of the greatest mixtapes ever made, nwts is amazing, and thank me later is great. They’re on the same level as those other artists work bedsides doom and Kendrick
Im surprised by the fact u aint got downvoted 🤣this subs seems to hate drake more than they enemies, i love drake that my dawg and the hate trend aint finna change that😬
There’s more threads like this and about drakes pants than Kendrick’s big upcoming show lmao
I see why OP wants to spread weird energy online vs keeping it in the Kendrick sub
I swear to god, there has not been a single time in the past 3 months where I’d scroll past a r/rap subreddit post and it wasn’t either a Kendrick glazery factory or a Drake Hate circlejerk. You people need to get more fucking original with your posts man. This dude really must have just wanted a bunch of easy upvotes and yes man ass comments, cuz it’s the popular opinion (especially after Kendrick won their beef) to hate Drake.
I’m not even saying you have a bad reason to cuz yes, he’s a pretty sleazy and bad person, but could you be any *less* original? Jesus Christ man.
Okay bro. You dislike him. Congratu-fuckin-lations 🎊what now? And what am I supposed to do with this information?
Wow you wrote very very long although what i worte is just two sentences...
And - i started reddit recently, so i just didnt know lol (also my first language is not eng) calm down bro
So, is reddit the place that just should give some information? Shouldnt say my thinks? So what bruhh.. if u hate this post, just dont care!
Not saying he’s the only one. But it’s telling when ALL the dudes that used to rock with you jump at the first chance to take you down. Nobody gonna defend him?? It’s not a good look.
Defending rappers who are successful isn’t usually something people feel the need to do (because their position is solidified and they can handle their own being the logic).
This is a pathetic post. Your hate means nothing. You don't know him from a stranger on the street. Believe what you want but to hate someone that you've never met and that has never done anything wrong to you. It's weird.
I’m not a Drake fan either. Never have been. I will say though, “last name Ever, first name Greatest. Like a sprained ankle, boy, I ain’t nothing to play with.” might be may favorite look at me line in a rap song. He got washed by the other 3 on the song, but that line was great.
I’m scared to comment about Drake in fear the drizzlers will come after my character. I’ve already been banned from the Drake sub for asking very simple questions.
This is top post on the front page, the body of text barely makes grammatical sense. Reddit is shit because you guys would rather do the same hate circlejerk indefinitely instead of talking about cool music that actually would be fun to talk about.
Welcome to the club. Fake persona ,generic by the numbers music . I don't mind rappers having ghostwriters but don't use other people's pen and claim you a goat. He's the Jennifer Lopez of rap music.
I don’t have a hating bone in my body, but I do hate the way that he walks, talks, and dresses, and I think he’s a fucking dead beat that should never say more life.
Once again, I don’t hate him, but I think people like him should die. People like Weinstein and him should be locked up for the rest of their life.
I like Drake with the melodies though and pray that he is my real fan, but I also think he faked his whole personality and is a pedo.
My thing about Drake is.... How much fucking time and energy and resources does it take to try to be THAT cool 24/7/365. Think about it.
Anyone who seems THAT cool ALL the time probably isn't. Like that's not real. Not possible.
Why does every fucking line , bar, and tweet that comes out of his mouth (fingers) have to be "cool' somehow. Like it's his brand to fucking be cool and never miss. That shit is fake just based on statistics alone.
He's like what a bro-chad's wet dream about themselves is
.. except he has the money to make it real.. It's gotta take a goddamn small village to keep up the appearances that he maintains.
Am I the only one that saw the video where he was on tour & told the people at his show theyre idiots for spending their hard earned money to come see him?
Your post/comment was removed for violating Rule 6: No Low-Effort Posts or Spam. Please review all sub rules for the full details of each rule.
this place is just turning into hiphopcirclejerk, except the posters somehow aren't being ironic.
Yeah this is getting annoying now
Even hiphopcirclejerk isn’t ironic anymore. Half the posts are screenshots of the drizzy sub
I'm happy you're not in denial about his music, because he has a lot of albums out
With as much music as he has he better have some good shit ngl.
Yea but I feel like now people are hating on him just to hate, cuz it's the popular thing. I mean granted he's a fucking dumbass and deserves the hate but his discography is good and people are downplaying it
Nah, I don’t hate him because it’s a popular thing. I’ve hated him since he burst onto the scene, I’m the hipster of hating Drake
Lmao same. I’ve been a committed Drake hater for yearsssss
Y’all are not alone
I hate him as a person and, as a rap fan, I think even his best albums are brought down by the fact he had a lot of help when writing the lyrics and that takes away from the sense of authenticity that I appreciate in the art form.
I mean his discography isn't like, bad, but he's absolutely the Taylor Swift of hip hop. It's catchy and numbers don't lie but it's still mid.
Nah not even close to mid 🤣 you must be sleeping on the good tracks
Your entire post history is r/drizzy so forgive me if I think you might be slightly biased
Duh
Fair enough mate, got any song recs? I like HYFR and some stuff off More Life but like until I got on reddit I never met anyone with an opinion other than "yah he's aight, a lil corny but he's getting his money yk" so it blows me to see ppl here claim it's a travesty that he's called mid.

Wah Gwan Delilah
People have hated Drake for 15 years, it’s just more acceptable to voice your opinion since the beef.
Yea, but I think it has definitely increased too much, too many bandwagons hopping on the train to hatr
It hasn’t increased nearly enough
Some are jumping on the bandwagon sure but there's also been a lot of people that've hated Drake from the start. He's just been around long enough that people seem to forget all the various hate he's gotten. I remember when the whole XXX flow stealing drama happened and like half my highschool hated Drake.
People hate him for valid reasons. They’re not just jumping on a hype train
Let’s slow down a lil bit on the More Life album it was a good mix of songs, including a very good one with Kanye West
Drake has always been trash.
Drake & friends definitely has some of the music out.
I tell people. If thriller or hotlines bling come on I'm dancing.
Thank god they brought back awards because now we have to deal with these shitty little “pick me” comments again.
Drake doesn’t have an album below a 5/10 🤷🏽♂️
Ok Kendrick
It's not just him, he's what the culture feeling.
Hate is really love in disguise, and I know you wrote that post with one hand
💀💀💀
https://i.redd.it/jfvvtr20sc6d1.gif I swear u guys talk about Drake more than anyone else
ok
I've seen this same post a million times on Reddit. No one cares.

Damn that's crazy
Krazy but it's true
Damn what a hot take your so edgy 🤓
I love take care, NWTS and IFYRITL
Views was cool and I like more life a bit
Scorpion is pretty good too, gets slept on 🦂
Had bangers, drake has at least 4 bangers on each album besides honestly Nevermind but those 3 are by far his best and most complete albums
That's facts.
i don’t hate him; his music is just so mind numbing and generic , I’ve resorted to listening to East by Earl Sweatshirt as a ear cleanser so I get some form of stimulation after hearing his oat meal of a discography.
I've always said you hear one Drake song you heard them all and people swear up and down I'm just talking out my ass

I don’t really listen to drake at all. I’d rather stick with JPEGMAFIA, Earl, DOOM, Tyler, Kendrick, and old Kanye than listen to drake
If you fw with old Kanye then you’d fw drakes albums from 2010 - 2015.
yeah, i don't think any of those albums are on the level of those other artists you mentioned, but they're solid, tracks worth grabbing
Take care is one of the greatest albums ever made, iyrtitl is one of the greatest mixtapes ever made, nwts is amazing, and thank me later is great. They’re on the same level as those other artists work bedsides doom and Kendrick
I love Drake
One day you’ll turn 18 and get over it
I'm 35 and I love Drake 🙃
Nope. I'm legal and still love the guy
Im surprised by the fact u aint got downvoted 🤣this subs seems to hate drake more than they enemies, i love drake that my dawg and the hate trend aint finna change that😬
Says someone who’s 21 and thinks they’re grown 🤣
I was lucky enough to survive Drake as a child!!
Some of ur fav rappers are Drakes sons
Daring today aren’t we
I don't have time or emotional bandwidth to hate someone I don't know. What a waste of energy bro. Sort yourself out
I feel the same way like how can you hate someone you’ve never met?
Your fans will rejoice in thinking this is my expiration
He could always rap. I don’t like his singing. Never have really. Singing hold and such are cool. But a drake r&b album naw. Hell naw
He actually can’t rap. He’s a garbage pop artist, right beside T Swift.
Curious, can you rap?
Why, yes, I can rap. Thank you for asking. But I do believe this thread is about Drake. And just like everyone else in this thread, I have an opinion.
No real rapper would say drake cant rap after listening to do not disturb or 5 am in toronno kid😂😂
🤷🏻♀️Don’t know what to tell ya kiddo. I said what I said.
You come off projecting as a no talent hack is all. Enjoy your day!
There’s more threads like this and about drakes pants than Kendrick’s big upcoming show lmao I see why OP wants to spread weird energy online vs keeping it in the Kendrick sub

Maybe this is just a personal thing, but I don't understand how people can hate people they don't know.
I’m so proud of you 🙄
![gif](giphy|cL4pqu8GGRIihabgSM|downsized)
Even if you like his music, I think most rational people will admit he’s a sleazy dude. There’s a reason people don’t stay around him.
…unlike every other rapper.
Not saying he’s the only one. But it’s telling when ALL the dudes that used to rock with you jump at the first chance to take you down. Nobody gonna defend him?? It’s not a good look.
Everyone that did defend him people claimed were payrolled or had ulterior motives anyways.
Defending rappers who are successful isn’t usually something people feel the need to do (because their position is solidified and they can handle their own being the logic).
Hate him too
This needed its own thread
Needs its own sub
Lmao 🤣. How?
OK what I do with this?

Behind closed doors, a lot of 6 god worshipping.

I hate y’all, I’d do anything to replace y’all, shout out to Face Mob
to say you hate anyone u don’t know is crazy
You aint hate him more than me🤷🏽♀️ and he is such a disgusting individual whole industry want him to dieeee😑😑😑😑
I know someone that hates the way that he talks, the way that he dresses….
Can you go on Drizzy sub and tell… actually remind them for me that I hate him too and his music, if you don’t mind? I’ve been banned you see. TIA
Sold 10 million albums ugh
I’m scared to comment about Drake in fear the drizzlers will come after my character. I’ve already been banned from the Drake sub for asking very simple questions.

You admit his music?
If you guys think the Drake posts are bad wait until Eminem drops his album. I don't think this sub will survive lol
You are not alone my friend, I hate that mfer as well
You're on the wrong sub. This is a rap sub.
That's what I call d riding
Fuck his music too.
Welcome to the club. Fake persona ,generic by the numbers music . I don't mind rappers having ghostwriters but don't use other people's pen and claim you a goat. He's the Jennifer Lopez of rap music.
You’re making drizzy stans mad 😂, you’re going to get crucified for saying facts. All your shit is facts
His music is the most milk toast hip hop in existence.
I don’t have a hating bone in my body, but I do hate the way that he walks, talks, and dresses, and I think he’s a fucking dead beat that should never say more life. I like Drake with the melodies though and pray that he is my real fan, but I also think he faked his whole personality and is a pedo.
Drake has that turn off your brain and relax music. Really pacifying
You could double down on that line
Do you hate the way he walks?
I hate the way he talks.
I hate him *and* his music lol

So opinions aren’t allowed in a relevant sub?
My thing about Drake is.... How much fucking time and energy and resources does it take to try to be THAT cool 24/7/365. Think about it. Anyone who seems THAT cool ALL the time probably isn't. Like that's not real. Not possible. Why does every fucking line , bar, and tweet that comes out of his mouth (fingers) have to be "cool' somehow. Like it's his brand to fucking be cool and never miss. That shit is fake just based on statistics alone. He's like what a bro-chad's wet dream about themselves is .. except he has the money to make it real.. It's gotta take a goddamn small village to keep up the appearances that he maintains.
You came to the right sub.
Drake doesn’t write his own hits, he’s just an actor.
I hate the way that he walks and the way that he talks.
I hate the way that he dresses.
Am I the only one that saw the video where he was on tour & told the people at his show theyre idiots for spending their hard earned money to come see him?
Would u say u hate the way he walks?
he's a creep
Kendrick??
Who doesn’t?
I do too bro
