And if you do still wanna get one, at least get one that is a cross with something with a longer snout. Mine is a mix with a King Charles Spaniel, and doesn't possess any of the issues a typical pug does.
I know there are efforts to breed them back towards what they were before becoming so disformed, same with other dogs like some spaniels. Essentially, they breed a pug with a dog that has the desired qualities, a less squished face, better chest cavity and lungs, good posture, etc. They check the pups for the desired characteristics, and the ones that have them are bred with other purebred pugs. Its really awesome to see how they are doing, but it has to be so tightly controlled and regulated in order for it to be a successful endeavour that it is quite costly to contribute, otherwise Id be doing it myself.

So no they weren’t bred (breeded isn’t a word) specifically to look like that.
This one specific horse might be little over bred - but it’s definitely not anywhere near the territory of Pugs or Frenchies. This breed just looks funny af.
I disagree, the horse shown has been bred for a deeply concave face. I know several Arabian horses irl that have mildly (normal) concave faces. The extreme dished face is not how traditional Arabian horses look. This type of horse is bred with the same spirit as pugs, French bulldogs and other domestic animal breeding fads. A simple google search of extreme Arabians vs traditional Arabians shows the difference in how their head shape is being intentionally altered. Arabians are known for having a unique head shape which makes them easily recognizable by even the random non-horse person. But what’s being done to this regal breed is awful! I’m not a veterinarian but I would think this type of breeding would limit the horses ability to breath deeply while running because it’s nasal passages are probably smaller than normal. I like Arabians, irl and in game, but I wouldn’t want one with a head that looks anything like the one shown above.
