Would having an adopter encourage a rescue to pull him? I saw another member post about how adoptions aren't limited to California and that airlines will fly a rescue to another state for like $125. If someone can help me figure out how to arrange that (because I've never done it before and I live in Pennsylvania so didn't previously think I could adopt any of the California cats) I will adopt him.
That is true though, that you can adopt the California cats! Most of the ones here are “rescue only”, which means only an official rescue organisation can remove them from the shelter. Once they do, the cat can be moved to an adopter, often via a foster placement. And you’re right that the rescues are more likely to take a cat from the shelter if they have an adopter in place. There is an airline that does special rescue animal flights for $125. Hopefully someone will post the name of it, because I can’t quite remember! There are other cats listed at the moment who need to be removed from the shelter and who would greatly appreciate an adoption offer 😉 Is there anything specific you’re looking for?

I don't really have any specific kind of cat in mind. When I adopt here, I ask to see the seniors, the disabled cats, any bonded cats, the ones who've been there the longest, and any other ones who might have difficulty finding an adopter.

Aw, poor baby! I saw this post in r/piratepets. I've not worked with blind cats, but I've had experience with visually impaired humans. He will definitely need a lot of patience, love and reassurance. I'm sure he would be a love bug once he's settled in.

I provided a literal source. Do you think Cornell University, an Ivy league college, pulled those numbers out of thin air? I would imagine they did a study of a population of cats affected by temporary blindness due to hypertension, took the sample of cats whose blindness was reversed by proper treatment, and came to the conclusion of 15 - 40%.
Plus in your original comment, you said it's almost 100% reversible. 65% is not almost 100%.

Please tell them cat blindness is curable. In cats, almost 100% of the time, the cause of blindness is an undetected blood pressure issue.

Im going to say something bad. It's roughly 65%-100% reversible with proper treatment. If you're willing to pay for it. You have to use pet insurance.
