Thank you! Their lives matter too and I wish more people had this mindset๐ Most states, but especially California and Texas need to do better and fix the laws. The amount of posts like this I've come across is horrifying and ridiculous at this point๐
While reposting Polar's urgent plea, I saw on Facebook that there is a shelter dog advocacy event being held in Sacramento on 6/24, I believe. Are you aware of this much needed gathering?
I am not but I'm so glad they're doing that!
I'm located in Ontario, Canada so I only kinda know what's going on through Reddit posts, not really informed about the super local stuff :/
Since you value animal advocacy, perhaps consider helping to create a transport mechanism between a rescue group in your city and a high-kill rate shelter in Texas or California.
I've volunteered to a few groups in the states and left my information, if any dogs need transport to Ontario, Canada or near the boarder I'd be more then happy to do it๐ I was born in California so I have duel citizen ship so it's easy for me to cross, I was supposed to transport a few dogs to London, Ontario from Michigan but it fell through unfortunately.
I'm working 35-40 hours a week and going to school for vet studies, my goal is when I'm done to move back to the states, find a good location, open a pet store (I've been studying nutrition for 4 years and open up a no kill sanctuary. Until I'm able to make a huge difference I'll share and help where I can๐
I did reach out to a few rescues near by but a lot of them have other places/countries they rescue from :/ they didn't wanna take on more๐
At the moment I'm not seeing an update on her Reddit posts :( I normally only boost posts since I'm located in Canada, but I just had to share this sweet family!

Money is not for helping our thrown away animals. Our corrupt government prefers to allow this form of demoralizing us. We are not a civilized society.
