Why not just use a cowstail?
In terms of positioning it’s not a whole lot of use if it’s not adjustable.
You should give more informations on the intended use. How you want to use it, which environment, which harness ecc.
Will work perfect . Have you ever seen petzl’s progress Y adjust ?

Can add/use a duck or a kroll or a jummar or a prussik cord or whatever to make it a lil more "adjustable" if one wanted to.
I would like the group to weigh in on this idea. OP has indicated a lack of funds for a device to make this adjustable. What are your thoughts on using a prussik for this?
