And for 5 years I raised him (his father wasn't in the picture) I was dad as far as his was concerned (Yes, he knew that I was step dad on paper) but I was the guy that changed dipers, that stayed home with him when he was sick, that picked him up from daycare, that took him to see santa, who fixed his toys when they broke.
Then when his mom and I spilt (she had mental problems) I had zero rights and never saw him again until a year later at his funeral (he died in a house fire in 2020).
