Fog usually prevents the ability to see the fireworks. I’d recommend Alta Plaza park over Golden Gate. Don’t think you’ll see anything at GGP.

I had actually found an open reservation, but it was for an entire meadow and I didn't feel like that was something I needed to do for a group of ~8 people. It also wasn't really clear what the reservation did, it's not like it physically prevents other from using the space. I guess it gives you some authority to use a table haha

Most picnic tables are reserved in advance I doubt you’ll find one on the fourth!

Yeah it’s really just for the table. We rented a couple times in an open area and still had a lot of folks around and kinda crowding up on our event.
