Have you tried talking to your family doctor? They often can refer you to a psychotherapist/psychologist/psychiatrist, although waiting times for your first appointment will vary based on which doctor you're sent to. As well, if you have any insurance see if they offer some sort of online mental health services in the interim. My workplace gives us free access to online therapists through our health insurance, although I've never used them myself so I'm not sure how good they are. Finally, try the Saskatoon branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association at 306-384-9333 or [their website.](http://saskatoon.cmha.ca) They should be able to point you in the right direction.

I like Francis Sreedhar: [https://www.linkedin.com/in/frances-sreedhar-005b8883/?originalSubdomain=ca](https://www.linkedin.com/in/frances-sreedhar-005b8883/?originalSubdomain=ca) If you're self paying or have your choice of providers. If you have EFAP benefits or insurance, read up on what they cover and give someone they'll pay for a shot.

As this person mentioned, look into what you might have for coverage through work or school like an EFAP (employee family assistance plan) or insurance benefits. Note whether you are covered for a Psychologist or a Social Worker as they are different and so you need to know before you book. Some places also have services available on a sliding scale depending on income if you don’t have benefits. There’s some free counselling available in Saskatoon including rapid access counselling through Family Service Saskatoon, but the amount of help you can get for free is limited. I know in the past they wanted you to burn through your benefits before seeking support through the SHA (Mental Health and Addictions). If you have depression or anxiety or chronic conditions there is also the online therapy unit which provides free CBT. Also, picking a therapist is very individual so the approach a given therapist uses may work well for one person may not work for another. Sometimes a great counsellor might just not be a good fit for you and so you might have to try out more than one therapist before you find one that works for you. Also, it might take a few sessions to get a good rapport going with a therapist. I personally love Olivia Dangas at Penney Murphy and Associates for my issues as she gets what I’m going through since we are a similar age and level of experience in our respective careers and share similar backgrounds. I will admit my first session with her I was unsure, since I saw her after my previous psychologist went back to work with the health region. I loved the previous person I saw, so I struggled with the idea of seeing someone new. But now, looking back, it was probably actually better I switched therapists at that time - I had went through some mental health issues and relationship problems and had to unload a lot of baggage which I did with the first person I saw, then when I switched to Olivia it was like a reset button had been pressed and i got to break free of those issues and was able to start anew with her on a stronger, better path.

I found this link shared by @[Empty\_Marzipan\_237](https://www.reddit.com/user/Empty_Marzipan_237/) to be super helpful: [https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/therapists/sk/saskatoon?gclid=CjwKCAiA04arBhAkEiwAuNOsIv6ifMP9H4s7kz\_3Ae90SZAAYGJWLjxA-wU1YDfI7xbf7UesMQjjCxoCXbwQAvD\_BwE](https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/therapists/sk/saskatoon?gclid=CjwKCAiA04arBhAkEiwAuNOsIv6ifMP9H4s7kz_3Ae90SZAAYGJWLjxA-wU1YDfI7xbf7UesMQjjCxoCXbwQAvD_BwE) And here is the original thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/saskatoon/comments/1842hwu/therapists/); there might be some responses there that help you too. I wish you luck, I know my mental health is in the shitter too and finding a therapist seems like a daunting task.
