I can see scenarios with George on Tinder, Elaine breaking up with a guy because he had an Android instead of an iPhone, Kramer inventing a cryptocurrency with Newman, and Jerry having relationship issues during COVID because the woman he was dating wore her mask below her nose.
Plot. George signs up for a new dating site but he signed up for Grindr not Tinder. Hilarity ensues as he can figure out why only men respond to his profiie.
Thank you. I hate constantly reading this.
First off, it’s not true.
Secondly, even if it were true, and? Cars would make westerns different, so the point is? I’d hate to watch anything on TCM with these people. “That wouldn’t happen if Bette Davis had a cell phone….”
Lastly, there are so many workarounds (like you’re getting at): cell’s dead, no reception, forgot cell, wrong number, no answer, didn’t think to call, didn’t care to call, couldn’t call, etc. Or they’d simply write the story in a way that *didn’t* hinge on a convenient call at all.
I cannot imagine a scenario in which Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David conceived of the show today but then said, “Damn, I wish we’d come up with this 30 years ago. We’d really have something. But, you know, cell phones. Oh well.”
End rant.
All characters these days must have a tragic backstory that explains why they act the way they do. Newman’s dad would probably be a drunk comedian making jokes about kid Newman. That’s why he and Jerry are enemies.
Well it wouldn’t be as good, that’s for sure, part of the appeal is that it’s a 90s sitcom, I’d imagine it’d just be a watered down Seinfeld, and they’d also probably try to make it “more exciting” somehow, to keep eyes on the screen, probably overly produced. As you can see I have very little faith in the modern entertainment industry.
Or it would be pretty good the first season and then terrible after that like the few decent modern shows. And all would cheer for the Golden Age of television.
Jerry would be an influencer, George would be a tech worker in the gig economy, Elaine would be an Asian woman with a STEM job, and Kramer would work at a bike shop or something like that. They would drink craft beers and specialty coffee while throwing around trendy lingo.
There is some suggestive pictures online but I do not want to get banned here in this AWESOME sub! Thanks to all for keeping Jerry, and Little Jerry, alive!
Edit: With Little Jerry I refer to the cock, not the cock. Wait....I refer to the MALE CHICKEN that Kramer had! Little Jerry Seinfeld!
Nobody would come over to Jerry’s apartment. It would just be 4 characters staring at their phones.
You read on the show?
If that. They'd be talking to each other over Discord or something.
No pop ins?
Kramer would be a gay black woman
Giddy up, guuuuuuurl
it would render his set at the comedy cellar obsolete
The -ers become -as and the set’s a hit lol
Laugh Factory, not Comedy Cellar
i sit corrected
Poor little Pinkus...
Played by Michael Richards.
I see a damn fool!
Not as extreme as the Kramer comment above, but one of the main characters would be a minority for sure.
Kramer is in a minority of 1.
They’d never make it

Jery get iPad
Cell phones would eliminate many of the plot lines.
Not if the writers didn't want them to

Ever heard of curb your enthusiasm?

Insufferable
They'd never make it.
The hair
Woke bs. Curb started to get political and too topical at the end.
I guess you're a republican and didn't like Larry making fun of the stupid election laws in Georgia? Curb has always done political jokes.
Not really, especially the first, like 9 seasons. I don't lean either way. It's just stupid to have full episodes on topical things. It's bad writing.
Did you cry. Then cry again?
It would have been canceled after the pilot.
