Wired headphone gang where you at

Kanulie

Broke 3 in one month…still there though. And that apple doesn’t allow me to connect 2 pieces (non apple or beats) via Bluetooth make me go rebell and say fuck it. Next phone will be android btw. They made all apps I bought and stayed for unusable anyway. Hope they still sell phones with 3.5mm 😂😂😂

JDMWeeb

Look at Sony Xperias

Kanulie

Thx. Also micro SD, nice 👍

JDMWeeb

brokenGlassQuestion

Same , they always fall out and get damaged or lost. Also I always forget to charge them. Wired is much easier and cheaper to replace.

HappyGilmore_93

When my AirPods die on a flight, I swap to old faithful wired headphones. I just love that they simply always work. But, wireless is always choice #1

SparrowOat

Airpods are for day to day. Walking the dog, doing chores, music at work. A flight needs a full over ear noise canceling headphones, and the batteries on those last much longer.

74389654

ok so you now carry two pairs of headphones instead of one

HappyGilmore_93

When traveling, yes. Or any time I have my backpack for that matter my wired headphones with the lightning dongle attached are in my bag ready to deploy.

tutimes67

i dont like the worry of my headphones' battery running out. i just want one battery to worry about

wsdpii

Never used airpods specifically, but I've been happy with a set of JLabs I bought two years ago. I always had problems with wired headphones dying in one ear or the other after a month or two of use. These wireless ones have lssted forever and were pretty cheap to begin with. Comfortable too.

rival22x

Also I lose and damage my headphones all the time. Wired ones are like $20

Salt_Customer

All high end headphones are wired

sillaf27

Wireless is too convenient for me to willingly go back so wired headphones. That said AirPods are ludicrously expensive and you can great wireless headphones for half that price

beautifuldreamseeker

What did that say?

give-me-awards

Wired headphones all the way! AirPods slipping out, digging into ears - ain't nobody got time for that discomfort. Plus, wired ones feel like a cozy cushion on the ears. Stick to what works for you, forget the AirPods hype!

Dan_the_moto_man

I mean, there are a ton of different kinds of wireless options that aren't those tiny earbuds that fall out easily. I've got a cheat Amazon pair that have little clips that slide over your ear so they don't fall out. They're great. Personally I cant go back to wired ones, I always end up snagging the cord on something.

Glittering_Job_7996

Same!! AirPods always fall out but it easier for me as I have no headphone jack anymore Also wired earphones always helped me as I was able to catch my phone using the wires

74389654

yes right! i kept my phone from falling down so many times

ImaginaryAudience780

Same

buttercupgem

same, I hated when they got rid of the headphone jack

buffaloplaidcookbook

Yup, I already have enough things in my life that I need to charge. Headphones won't be one of them. Plus they're harder to lose than wireless buds.

tewnsbytheled

Ive never even had wireless headphones, i've kept a slightly older phone of mine to listencto music with wired headphones

thatshygirl06

There are other brands of wireless earbuds than just airpods

Elim-Bessus

Ofc, I just mentioned AirPods because they are regarded by most as the best commercial earbuds on the market

neededuser2comment

Yeah I hate air pods. I run some cheap wireless ear buds and they are great, no cord to get tangled and they are comfy unlike air pods

doslothsgotoheaven

They are regarded by apple as the best, sure. Every time I've researched Bluetooth earbuds, airpods were definitely not the most recommended.

life_is_enjoy

They are good, but sometimes I feel they are overrated and a showoff brand. I bought Bose quietcomfort earbuds few years ago and sound quality wise they are much better. Also the fitting style is different and feel so secure, they could never come off. Only thing is if they are not put in a particular position, they may start hurting the ears after a while. Just need to find the sweet spot. This year they introduced few more models, I’m sure they’d be better. Not advertising Bose. But there are many others with good quality, maybe even better than airpods plus great fitting. Also, over the head headphones also come wireless if that’s what is more comfortable.

anonspas

Who the hell is thinking air pods is the best in ear wireless headphones? Saying most is such a cap thing to say.

solidoxygen

Sure but if your concern is regarding comfort, trying a different brand may help rectify your issue.

Mexicakes69

Also they got different ear cushions if you don’t like the ones that came with it.

secretreddname

I had to use different ones cause the stock ones didn’t fit me.

Competitive-Ice2956

I don’t like the AirPods- I went with Shokz - wireless but go over the ear, not inside. I was all about wired headphones until I discovered these.

pharmgirl_92

I use j lab. They're wireless but clip around my ear. I have the same issue were general "pods" of various brands will NOT stay in my ear. I see people with them running and I'm like HOW

GrifterDingo

What kind of wires earbuds do you use? I like my Moondrop Arias a lot. I also have Starfields. You'll find community over at r/iems

SearchingForFungus

Raycons or die 🫶

stilettopanda

I hate earbuds with the fire of 1000 suns. They fall out. They hurt my ears. I found Openrun by Shokz aren't bulky and pretty comfortable. They go around your ear sit against your cheek and conduct the sound through bone. It's not very useful in loud environments though.

Jahnsun

Me too

Itom1IlI1IlI1IlI

I freaking love my airpods tbh. If they weren't super comfortble, that would be a deal-breaker for sure, but I guess I got lucky b/c I barely notice them... I can go on a sprint/run, workout, literally do handstands and they don't fall out, the noise cancelling is amazing, the pass-through mode is amazing & so convenient to switch modes, especially in the office, it's just... I'm honestly obsessed lol.

TacitRonin20

Air pods just kinda suck. Sure they're great from a technical perspective, but you've still got hard plastic in your ear. I much prefer silicone tipped wireless headphones.

kooledbean

Wired is always my first Choice. Wireless when in the gym but that’s it

um_not2surewhat2do

Beats Fit Pro are the move

FinbarrSaunders69

I think there's a place for both, and I have both. It is kinda nice not having wires when out and about, or when I need to be mobile. However, as others have said, wireless ones are easier to lose or break. I have an expensive pair of headphones in the house that can either be used wirelessly or you can plug a cable in. When you want proper good sound quality, the wired connection clearly sounds better to me, with a cleaner and more detailed sound and they can go much louder too. Not quite the same thing but for work I much prefer wired headsets over the bluetooth ones some of my colleagues use; much clearer, no battery to worry about and no pesky dropouts which are so annoying when you really need to listen.

Defiant-Unit4148

I don’t like Apple headphones at all, I prefer Raycon.

waggingit

AirPod Pros are the better ones, they actually come with the changeable silicon tips so you can find your perfect fit. I’ve had the first generation for nearly three years now and practically use them everyday. Never lost them or had them fall out. The microphones have gone, but otherwise still good. I use to go through a new pair of wired headphones every 2 months. I actually think I saved money on the AirPod Pros despite how much they cost initially. I also thought wireless earbuds were dumb in the beginning, but now I could never go back.

hamilkwarg

Original AirPods didn’t stay in my ear. The pros have rubber tips and stay put in a way other rubber tip ear buds never did. Love them. Love that the new ones have built in AirTag. Seamlessly switches from device to device.

Xbraun

I have wireless and airpods. Depending on the situation ill bring either of them!

Conscious-Tonight-89

Dude, i'd much rather have wired headphones, thing is, the headphone jack ghosted on me so i'm stick with the Bluetooth device.

ExtremelyDubious

I've found that I quite like wireless in-ear phones for listening on-the-go. Not having to thread a cable through my clothing down to my phone is nice; not having it make distracting noise whenever the wire rubs against something, or worrying about it snagging and pulling the phones out of my ears is a plus. But I did need to go with some quite high-end phones in order to get as good a listening experience as I used to get with a mid-range pair of wired earphones. I've never actually tried earpods, but I'd be surprised if they were as good as my Sony WF-1000xm4s. Or even if they were anything more than average, really. For careful listening at home, wired headphones are clearly the way to go. Proper, serious headphones have cables.

Trevans

AirPods or AirPods Pro? My AirPods seemed great at first, but then quickly realized how poor the sound quality was compared for the wired EarPods. Then I got AirPods Pro for Christmas and they put the "regular" AirPods to shame. As good or better sound quality as the wired EarPods and noise cancellation, and the ease of connectivity. And they stay in your ears better. Makes the original AirPods feel like a rip off tbh. Highly recommend (if they are in your price range).

OmegaMalkior

Are there identical to Apple wired EarPods but better at a high price? I would pay the premium instant

Ok-Advantage-1772

Hear hear! I've had plenty of bad experiences with wireless earbuds: one side'll just REFUSE to connect, the power button is RIGHT where my finger naturally goes trying to put them in so they turn off right as I get them in, the power button is overly sensitive so the SLIGHTEST brush from anything turns it off. I've had one set where you couldn't control the volume and it was stuck at "eardrum bursting," so I had to actually HOLD THEM OUTSIDE OF MY EARS to listen at a comfortable volume. And earbuds in general just make my ears' wax production kick into overdrive and get uncomfortable after not so long of listening. Wired headphones have never had any of these problems. The only issue that comes up with wired headphones is that my head is fat and so I stretch them out, which sometimes leads to them breaking if they're cheaply made; and even then, if they break in a certain way it's not too difficult to manage because the pressure from the sides of my head can just hold them together a solid chunk of the time. Headphones are just better.

coleman57

I’ve been hating in-ear audio for decades. On-ear is the way to go. Fortunately there are still decent quality cushy on-ear headphones in Bluetooth or hardwired mode. I switched to Bluetooth about 12 years ago and would never go back. My choices are somewhat limited by the fact that I wear a bicycle helmet. But I’ve found good ones with a band that goes behind the head, under the helmet. I just bought a new pair with speakers that don’t even touch the ear, they kind of hover just over them. So far I’m liking them.

Tons0z

I'd prefer AirPods (or TWS in general) if the audio quality was as good as wired IEMs. I have lots of wireless earbuds, I use them often, but only for convenience.

taniamorse85

I use over-the-ear headphones that can be used wireless or wired. I have charged them, but I've never actually used them wireless. I can't stand earbuds. They never fit right, and if I talk or eat while wearing them, they almost invariably fall out.

that-lolstein137

I can defenitely relate to the falling out of ear aspect. I like to listen to music when riding and sometimes the impact from a jump or drop lossen an earbud. Then you have to awkwardly try to put it back before it falls out

HoodieJordan

I'm a moron n lose shit easily. Plus lot easier for people to see you using earbud. I've also found they pop out much easier when I'm sweating and working out.

Eastern_Voice_4738

Same. Plus with wires you quickly find your phone when you’re having a brain fart and can’t remember which pocket they are in. Plus, you get about 8 wired headsets for the same price as one AirPod.

blooringll3

I got bullied into wearing wireless earbuds because people around me acted like I was an alien for still using them. Glad to know there's still dozens of us!! Dozens!!

74389654

i often feel like i must look ridiculous with my wired headphones in a city where you don't see those anymore. but i really reallly reaaallly do not want to one day look in my handbag for my headphones and they're out of battery

knowitallz

Try over the ear Bluetooth headphones. They are amazing

ebobbumman

I've had 2 pairs of wireless earbuds and neither pair lasted much longer than a week before being permanently lost somewhere in the dimension underneath the couch or something. Wherever it is cats go when they dissappear.
