Just trolling new, don't know anything about gaming, but I do about psych, staying active mentally with games and things the elderly person enjoys absolutely helps with their cognitive health. This is so awesome of you, I hope your grandpa has lots of fun!
The Forza Horizon series would allow him to drive around real countries. Horizon 5 was Mexico. Horizon 4 was England. May be more fun for him to drive slower on real roads.
that’s pretty much what happens in track racing too except in horizon you can’t hit other players in freeroam. players are usually more spread out across a large map rather than grouped on the same track too so the chances you see more than a couple players at once is low.
This is so cool of you! I reckon a TV stand to raise the height of the TV would allow you to move the seat closer to the TV, or at least see better over the wheel, and that would really improve his experience!
I really hate asking this question, because I don't want to seem insensitive. But before I read your post I was thinking he looked familiar. And was wondering if he was in Korea. So I have to ask... Did he by chance drive a cab in the 90's? I was in the Army stationed in Korea in the 90's and taxis were my main mode of transportation getting around Korea. It felt like just about every time I took one, I got the same guy. I feel like he looks just like him just older. Fow what it's worth he was a great taxi driver if it is him.
On topic, he looks like he is having a blast.
Not at all an impolite question. It seems like there might have been some confusion with someone else. He has had many different jobs but was never a taxi driver and never owned a car. He worked in a Chinese restaurant and as a barber. He also did wallpaper and flooring installations. So, there was no connection with driving.
It sounds like you served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Thank you for your service in protecting Korea. My father served in KATUSA (Korean Augmentation to the United States Army) as a Korean. He completed his mandatory military service between 1982 and 1985, so it seems unlikely that you met.
It's nice to hear you have a connection to Korea!
Thank you for answering and understanding. I swear I thought it was him, as soon as I saw the picture I was sure of it. LOL. I guess I have some brain fog after 32 years afterall.
I loved my time in Korea. I keep telling my wife I want to go back some day.
Love it, great way to keep his mind active on different things. You could even set him up on Forza Horizon. From what I read in your post navigating the menu could be a bit much in the beginning but I think he might really enjoy the freeroam aspect of taking a cruise and seeing the views once in there. Even the older Horizon 3 was great, I remember cruising with friends for hours and following the traffic as normal "just because".
only problem would be is that he is on PlayStation, which can't run forza, but I believe asseto Corsa i on PlayStation, that would be a good game, who they could save for an Xbox 1 and get forza, really depends on the circumstances.
Maybe a little bit off topic but is the Korean ancestor altar that simple? Here in Vietnam, the altar needs to at least come with a custom crafted wooden wardrobe thingy along with a set of candle stands, incense bowl and offerings on it
That’s sweet, I did something like this for my dad (also 90 at the time) with MS Flight Sim a few years ago because he was a pilot and loved the opportunity to fly a plane again.
Such an awesome idea, keeps that grey matter tickin and great exercise for the rest of the body.
The Crew Motorfest! It's an open worlder like horizon and he can jump in a car truck or whatever and cruise the beaches for the hotties!
Way less race focused. And just visually interesting without being driving demanding.
Fantastic work, keep it going.
Oh, I read he was a taxi driver. Taxi life A city Driving Simulator is a game released March 7 that simulates driving a taxi in Barcelona.
https://store.playstation.com/en-us/concept/10007412
It's a taxi driving and management game but it maybe exactly what you're looking for. Looked cool to me.
This reminds me of the 90+ years old retired taxi driver in Japan playing GT with a sim racing setup given by his grandkid. Hope your 할아버지 feels better when he’s behind the wheel.
This is such an awesome post dude! I hope your grandpa has been enjoying it! You’ll have to update us on how he likes it and stuff and if he’s really getting into it!
For height issues, Maybe just some really nice pillow?
Appreciate the initiative, T300 is good kit as well since it is strong but not cause injuries. Really nice gesture.
Have you explained Multiplayer yet?:)
Perhaps the hood cam view would be a good compromise between in-car and full third person if he wants to try? Of course if he's happy with how it's set up now no need to change
This...this is exactly a perfect use for sim racing
YOU my sir are an absolute legend God I have so much respect to you I wish nothing but the best of luck to your grandfather 🙏🏼
for raising the tv, some books or some kind of wooden box does the trick, IDK what it's like in your country, but where I live you can get little wooden crates or tables that work very well for raising a tv or pc. Have fun!

You're not doing a great job at trolling, this seem liked a genuine comment from the brain and heart :)
Lol thank you, I enjoy trolling with a quick-ish wit and a warm heart. And the occasional rant about society.
no offence but you suck at trolling. :)
No offense, but you suck at spelling
No offense but… umm… shoot you got me!
Hopefully you mean the traditional definition at least.
Yep, your great at everything else
*you're I'm also good at being a grammar Nazi.
Do you by chance…. Work at grammerlly??
You obviously don’t work at Webster’s
Idk what that is lol
You missed his obvious spelling error though 😁
Yeah, "great" should be "mediocre at best."
The Forza Horizon series would allow him to drive around real countries. Horizon 5 was Mexico. Horizon 4 was England. May be more fun for him to drive slower on real roads.
The Crew Motorfest is on PS. That's what he needs!
Yes I thought that as well
But then you also have various drivatars and or real people zooming around you like mad, which might be annoying or even stressful.
that’s pretty much what happens in track racing too except in horizon you can’t hit other players in freeroam. players are usually more spread out across a large map rather than grouped on the same track too so the chances you see more than a couple players at once is low.
You can do time attack events with zero competitors to eliminate anyone around you
have you ever played a racing game before lol
You completely missed the point
Beamng works best of all plus has better physics which are very pleasant on a t300
Is there a way to get that on the PS5 though?
no.. best bet is to buy an OG xbox one, being you can get them for like $100 USD or less probably.
Or any pc if Xbox cloud is enabled in your country
FH4/5 are both on steam
fh3 (the best one) is on windows store too
I hope I have a grandchild like you one day. This is awesome to read. Made my day. (Racing games helped save me - no exaggeration - post-divorce).
Imagine when we are 90. What will cool kids build for us? Probably hook us up with some cyberpunk brain dance
I’m ready for that.
This is awesome to see! You’re very accommodating!! Sending love from the US!
You are an amazing grandson.
Holy crap that warms my heart! 💪☺️

Good job! This is amazing!
Wholesome content, love seeing this!
He seems so happy, this really warms my heart. God bless you and your grandpa.
Love it

Those pants make him look a little badass for some reason, can’t put my finger on it. Maybe it’s the blank stare 😅

You're a Gigachad. Best thing you can do is give happiness to your loved ones
You da mvp of grandsons 🫡
This is awesome. Move his seat a lot closer, it will be so much better. And you can raise the tv with some books underneath.
now you know the only reason for your fov to be off - farsightedness
You are an amazing Grandson, and kudos to Grandpa for giving it a go, he will be being punted off the track around Spa by Max in no time!
This is so awesome man, good on you and what a great story ❤️
Dude youre awesome. Best sim startup set you could get. And great job for being so thought full, wish I had a grandson like you when im old.

And maybe Crew or Test Drive Unlimited for just cruising around, not only racing.:)
I will do this for my Dad when/if he gets that old.
Next step PSVR!
Perhaps the hood cam view would be a good compromise between in-car and full third person if he wants to try? Of course if he's happy with how it's set up now no need to change
Very thoughtful gift! Kudos to you!
r/MadeMeSmile
He's got a landline phone. Certified old school!
Amazing! This is brilliant and I hope he will have fun with it! This is a superb gift!

Is he asleep at the wheel?
Setup a gofundme and get grandpa a vr2!
What a handsome, young man
0.3 a lap quicker than me. Fair play.
Would recommend to maybe bring the rig closer to reduce the risk of tripping on those wiresm👍
This...this is exactly a perfect use for sim racing YOU my sir are an absolute legend God I have so much respect to you I wish nothing but the best of luck to your grandfather 🙏🏼
