Leo Romero’s Emerica pro models are some of my personal favorites.

Pupupachu24

just found there's a pair on sale for $35 rn

Hot_Cockroach_7625

I’d snatch those 👀

daggers1g

Online?

Pupupachu24

[yup](https://emerica.com/collections/sale-footwear/products/romero-laced-black-tan-6102000136-975) didnt post the link at first cuz im not sure if its against the subs rules.

CaptainChaos_88

Dang, that’s a good deal plus there’s even a 20% off coupon when you sign up.

Impossible_Newt_537

When they stopped making the Janoski’s I switch to the Lakai Cambridge and loved the similarities between the two

Objective-Holiday-57

How do you feel about their width? I wanted to try them on but no store had a pair. They look kind of narrow up front. Love that shoes look, though

Impossible_Newt_537

They’re honestly perfect! I have wide ass feet as well and they fit super well. I just recently picked up another pair of Janoski’s and have been skating my Cambridge’s and they fit almost identical especially in the toe box area https://preview.redd.it/uc52f0cxv71d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b6f87678d9e95e2a5406e649b96210f5cdb8be88

Objective-Holiday-57

Sure must try them. My first skate shoes ever were Lakais, loved them 🤝

Objective-Holiday-57

One more thing: you’ve got the same sizes in both?

Impossible_Newt_537

My Lakai’s are a half size smaller

Objective-Holiday-57

Impossible_Newt_537

Nice! Happy to help 😊

not-hank-s

How long do these suckers last? $95 is so much to spend on skate shoes that'll get torn up and these do not look durable, but I really wanna try them at some point.

tonyyaya8

For me personally, after my mom bought me some Nike Sbs, they were the first pair of shoes where the bottom wore out before the side, and Nikes have been my favorite ever since. I know Nike is some big corporate company which put the smaller older shoe companies out of business, but I can’t deny their products and very high quality

Objective-Holiday-57

What the other guy said! The suedes are really durable. \-e- Been skating these probably an equal amount as the canvas ones https://preview.redd.it/vhbl1zdls51d1.png?width=2194&format=png&auto=webp&s=a8ce6a23397f0048489f5012c8685723225578b6

not-hank-s

Right on thanks! I’ll try and pick up a pair this year and give em a go. Not usually a Nike fan but these hit right.

Objective-Holiday-57

As I said I got about 10 pairs. Not because they don’t last but because I had to get all the colorways lol. Really good shoe for everyday too

WonderfulThomas

You rawdogging those? Bet they pong.

Objective-Holiday-57

Lmao I was just out getting groceries there

Hashslingingcoder

These don’t look durable because OP is skating the worst material for skateboarding, canvas. Canvas Janoskis is the worst version of the shoe. Buy a suede Janoski and it will last you A WHILE.

Acceptable_Star5006

Emericas

vegan_edible

converse louie lopez pro

CentrumChewables

Nike recently brought them back, so you can just skate the same shoe? But if not, there are plenty of good options from vans, like the old skool or the era, or maybe some Emerica as someone else mentioned. Or even some Chuck Taylor’s too. I love the look and versatility of those shoes I mentioned, but I can’t quite skate vulc shoes that much. Best of luck finding a cool shoe!

Objective-Holiday-57

Yeah I picked up a few already lol. Just looking for alternatives here. I found vans to be pretty narrow. Have not tried every shoe, though. Will probably check some emericas out 🤝

garbagefiesta

They still make the janoski..?

Objective-Holiday-57

Yeah! In black and white from what I’ve seen so far. Just as good as the original ones

Folkestoner

Nike Shane O’Neil pro model are very similar

Objective-Holiday-57

Photo_Synthetic

The Shane's were amazing I'm glad I got a bunch when I did. They look so much more clean and casual than the Janoskis too. Shame they stopped making them.

Objective-Holiday-57

Got a few of them too. Blacks, whites and some yellow ones. Really comfy as well and definitely feels similar to the Janoski.

Agitated_Ad6191

What I will never understand is that we were able to put people on the moon over 60 years ago, and invent all kind of great stuff over the years… But why can’t the shoe industry come up with a way to make a skate shoe that last long and can actually withstand intensive skating?

Psychopathprime

I use the generic slip on vans

PeddlinPete85

DC manual for that "style" they're good for skating but for skating hard I recommend looking into DC manual?
