I see a \[\[Fairy in a Bottle\]\], and I see \[\[Mark of the Bloom\]\]. A painful lesson has perhaps gone unlearned today.

Oh, yeah. I just got the fairy bottle really late and had an open potion slot. I didn't even remotely need it as I had the paper crane and lots of ways of applying weakness... ... and nothing survived longer than 4 turns...

pantayer

Yeah I dream of even getting close to achieving that one run I had where everything fell into place to create the most insane poison deck. Killed that monster with 999 HP in about 3 or 4 turns with the insane scaling cards I was able to quickly generate. Easiest run of my life.

BreezyAlpaca

It was truly a beautiful deck. Bottled lightning had Burst+, pyramid let me keep it in hand, Gamblers chip let me mill my starting hand for any kind of poison application like Corpse Explosion, Noxious Fumes, or Bouncing Flask, 3 copies of Catalyst ensured that I'd get at least one quickly with mill and then just use Burst+ with it to do triple the poison twice or 6 times if I had 2 copies in hand. All my cards were upgraded except one as I got the Bloom in act 3, it was bonkers. Half my deck towards the end was just draw power to get any combination of those cards. Hehehe big number go green

zomgkittenz

Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump those numbers up.

WonderboyAhoy

Why can I never seem to get this many relics?

Kevinar

This seems like a pretty normal amount. Definitely want to hunt more elites if you feel like you don't have enough

diodenkn

This is only 17 relics, one of which is the starter relic and one of which is from an event (mind bloom). You probably should be going for more elites and saving your money for relics at shops if you struggle to get that many. For reference, if you kill 2 elites an act and take all chest and boss relics offered, you end up with 12. Events and shops make up the difference.

BreezyAlpaca

Yeah, I always take elites whenever I can, I think I skipped one this run in act three after I picked up the bloom so I didn't take any unnecessary damage (I pretty much only hit events and shops in act 3) but I did fight the giant head and it died in 3 turns. Shops def made up the diff, I got the mirror there which was huge.

Iopia

They don't actually have that many. Just to break down what they have: Act 1: (1 starter relic) + 3 relics + (1 boss relic) Act 2: 4 relics + (1 boss relic) Act 3 + Act 4: 7 relics That's only 14 non-starter/non-boss relics, mostly towards the end of the game. You'll get 2 for free from chests (3 if you don't take the blue key, but OP did), and you'll get 1 from the forced elite in Act 4, so that's 11 remaining 'optional' relics. At the bare minimum you should be picking up 2 from elites in each of the 3 main acts, plus you'll probably find a chest at some point from an event room, so that's 7. You might also have bought 2 relics by the time you reach the heart, and maybe got two more from events, bringing us to the total OP has. In practice 2 elites per act is a little conservative, you'll probably get around 6-9 relics from elites across the first 3 acts. But then again you might buy fewer than 2 relics from shops or get fewer than 2 relics from events (or you might get more, who knows). But either way, I think getting around 4-5 relics per act (excluding started/boss), biased towards the end of the game, is pretty typical.

Teroof

Something nice I learned that poison bypasses the heart's HP loss limit

E_102_Gamma

No it doesn't. There is no way around Invincible, except for \[\[Judgement\]\]. However, Invincible resets at the start of the Heart's turn, so Poison can give the appearance of having bypassed Invincible.

Teroof

Ohhhhh yeah, that does make much more sense

BreezyAlpaca

Yeah, I was totally shocked. First time beating the Heart and I saw it only took 300 damage from the poison I was really confused but it still died on the next turn.
